Sukoon Houseboat: "Floating Fantasy!"
This was my first houseboat experience and it was wonderful! After driving the hideous road from Kargil (which was in itself ugly and dirty) arriving at Sukoon was such a welcome paradise. Clean lines, white sheets, excellent food and a great shower! Simply spectacular! The staff were incredibly friendly, especially Babu and the view was beautiful! The Apsara Rive Droite: "Delicious food"
Had a lovely meal here, gorgeous food and very friendly service. It has a lovely view over the river and you can sit looking out over the river if you want. We also had our young son with us who asked lots of questions, they were very accommodating.Cuca: "Foodies: move over to this place"
"""It is all about the taste"" is Cuca's slogan and that is exactly what they offer. We had the chef's selection menu (9 dishes) and we loved every dish. Our favorites were the smoked butterfish and the roasted pork buns. To be honest, it was a very long time ago that I used my fingers to scrape the last bit of sauce of the plate after we finished the dish but here I just had to do it; so delicious! It's a pity that they do not offer matching wines with every dish (what we would have loved) but maybe it is better not to drink wine but just water to experience the tastes of the dishes better. We loved it."Tugu Bali: "Unique property. Wonderful staff"
This boutique hotel is impressive. We were wowed from the moment we arrived. The hotel is a museum and houses an impressive collection of art and sculpture. Ask Ari for a tour as he's a wealth of info on the history of each piece. We choose a Dedari suite with a private plunge pool, an amazing outdoor shower/bath that overlooked a private coy pond and the most comfy hotel bed I've ever slept in. The hotel is a two minute walk to the beach. I walked the beach each morning but preferred to lie by the swimming pool and enjoy the serenity. The staff are attentive and kind and the service is exceptional. Sri was outstanding and really took care of us during our 3 day stay. The restaurant menu is substantial. The food is delicious. You can order a meal anytime and eat it anywhere on the property. There's also afternoon tea. The Japanese restaurant is in a Chinese temple reconstructed on the property and is beautifully decorated. Thursday night is cultural dance night and not to be missed. We also tried the spa - seashell facial, pedicure and Balinese massage. It was the best massage I'd had in all of Bali! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend the Tugu. I would definitely choose this hotel brand again! Thanks to Jenny and Ari and the team for the wonderful vacation.Mathis Retreat: "Beautiful tranquil oasis in the rice fields"
"The Kenanga in Ubud is a perfect place to stay. We had a room overlooking the beautiful rice fields of the hotel. The gardens are very lovely and the infinity pool is awesome. Breakfast is served a la carte and is delicious (the fruit jam is very tasty...). To get to Ubud Centre there is a free shuttle every hour until 5pm. Afterwards you have to take a taxi for around 40000 Rupiah. An alternative (by daylight) is to walk through the lush rice fields and arrive in the city centre after 1 hour. Carine, the owner is extremely helpful and organized a small private trekking tour with a local guide for us to a remote waterfall. All in all we had a wonderful time in Kenanga and will be back for sure next time we are in Ubud."Tugu Malang: "A most wonderful hotel"
I can really recommend this hotel. Although only 25 years old it is built in the dutch colonial style. The staff are very attentive and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food in the restaurant is excellent and cheap by english standards. The rooms are comfortable and perfectly adequate. Part of the hotel is a museum and the staff give an escorted tour. The is even the possibility of a cycle tour in the morning avoiding the traffic, This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at and I doubt if there is a better one in Malang. An extensive tea with indonesian delicacies is available free to all the guests.Supanniga Eating Room: "Amazing and varied selection of great food"
Great little find this restaurant, fantastic food in a good location that is both quiet and accessible. I highly recommend the Isan-style Pork Steak.Tugu Bali: "Best Beef Range Dang"
"We stopped here for lunch on a Kombi Tour and the staff were super friendly and attentive, even bringing my son out some calamine lotion for a rash they noticed he had. The food and cocktails were awesome, there is a pool to swim with towels provided. There are also raised day beds to chill out and view the beach across the road. Stayed February 2017, traveled with family"The Cabochon Hotel: "fantastic atmosphere"
Me and My Filippo we spent a 4 fantastic days in the Cabochon Hotel, really familiar atmosphere in a very stylish and classy place. As soon as we arrived we feel the particular hot and friendly character of the persons that manage the hotel. thank you and I hope to get there really soon.Misool Eco Resort: "An amazing place"
The cottages are roomy and have plenty of storage. The staff is relentlessly positive. The diving and snorkeling is out of this world. Within a short boat ride from the resort are a myriad of sites and even the House reef good enough to snorkel again and again. The food is very good. The resort is located within a huge private marine reserve. This reserve has been a no take zone for about 10 years and it shows with the abundance of life.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
