MAISONS WAT KOR: "Lovely and relax resort"
"We stayed here for two nights with a great design room plus a pool view and big garden. It is a real Khmer art for sure. Lovely, friendly, and helpful staff. Location is good, abit quiet but sleep well. Good experience and will go back with friends for next visit in Cambodia. "Cuca: "A hidden gem"
You will not stumble across Cuca by accident; it's hidden on a quiet street a few hundred metres back from Jimbaran beach. We booked ahead and secured an outdoor table in the restaurant's garden, which was very peaceful and private. The food was really quite exceptional and exceeded my expectations. The plating, presentation and service rivals any fine dining experience. Please don't miss Cuca if you're in the area.Talabgaon Castle Heritage Resort: "An absolute delight"
"We accidentally stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to spend the night due to unwanted delays during our road trip and it was an absolute delight. The castle itself is breathtakingly beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is highly courteous. We were welcomed like family despite the odd hour. Our caterer Sandeep deserves a special mention here who made our stay even more memorable. The food was delicious and the hospitality that went with it was amazing. Pool is very well maintained. Room was very good and comfortable. Above all every effort was made to meet all our requirements. We booked a camel ride at a very short notice causing them a lot of inconvenience. But the camel was not feeling well. Being animal lovers, we felt extremely happy about the humane treatment that was given to that animal. The manager apologized profusely, despite it not being his fault, and did not charge a single rupee for the cancelled ride. Kudos to you Mr. Singh for running the amazing show. There is no downside. Even the slightly bad road leading to the castle is totally worth the experience. Only regret is we could not stay longer due to further commitments and therefore we are planning to visit soon with family."David’s Kitchen: "Excellent food, service and atmosphere."
I was visiting Chiang Mai for a short weekend and read about this restaurant online. Reservations were made easily online and followed up by email. The restaurant was easy to find but location change across the river. The restaurant is beautiful inside with a very cozy atmosphere. There was a live piano during my dinner, which was nice. David personally came and greeted every table. He stayed by my table for a bit because I was alone and made me feel at home. The food was exquisite. I had a raw salmon appetizer, lobster bisque, and lamb chops - all of which I would recommend. David suggested a restaurant for lunch the following day and sent me a very detailed and warm thank you email the following morning. Thank you David!David’s Kitchen: "If this were in Europe it would have a waiting list of 3 months"
"Of course, as the number 1 rated restaurant on Trip Advisor we knew it was going to be good. But we were not prepared for one of the best dining experiences of our whole lives and for the fact that this was going to be much more than just about food. We were greeted by the owner, David, himself, who was entertaining, humble, informative and passionate without being pushy. He made us feel so much at ease and I felt a sense of being at home and being well looked after. This was after a greeter had walked with us to the door shielding us with an umbrella. As we had not booked they had to improvise fast and every table gets a name shield! It is such a nice touch. When you walk into the restaurant area you can feel that the staff love their job. They are all so happy, cannot do enough for you, do not hover, are courteous, smiley and discreet. They exude an aura of people who are well treated. It was more of an extended family atmosphere than anything else. The food was, what I can I say, truly amazing with the best pumpkin soup I have ever tasted in my life and succulent duck with, again, the best mashed potato I have ever eaten, ever. Furthermore, between starter and main course you get served a scoop of sorbet to cleanse your pallet and prior to the soup, a square of watermelon with cottage cheese. Such a delight. We had several chats with David who was floating around, checking that all the diners were happy (amazing that this man is so passionate and committed to his life’s work) and he let us go into the kitchen and meet the chef who was a very unassuming, clearly very talented guy who was also a partner. It was amazing. When we got the bill we laughed as this, in Europe, would have cost 200 Euros at least and we paid 75 Euros (total including all costs and tip) for 3 courses. For fine dining, this is amazing. There is a 10% service charge on top which goes to the staff (we checked) and 7% VAT added but still, we found it amazing value for money for the whole experience you get. As said, if this were in Europe there would be a waiting list of months to come here. When we got home there was an email waiting for us thanking us for our visit. David had remembered everything we talked about and referred to it in his email. We are still raving about our best dining experience in Thailand to date. Service – unbeatable, atmosphere and setting – amazing, food – exquisite, company – out of this world. You MUST come here when you are in Chiang Mai."Satri House: "Stunning"
"On entering the beautiful building we were immediately welcomed by staff with drinks and information on the grounds and surroundings. We were shown round the picturesque hotel which also had 2 very lovely swimming pools. The rooms were stunning with lots of space. Breakfast at the hotel was great , although some may like a buffet they went with a more a la carte approach which never the less was delicious. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the town centre and the hotel even let you use bikes for free to get around quicker and take in more of the beautiful surroundings. I would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel as the staff, rooms, location , food and hotel grounds are 5 star! Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"Jing’s Residence: "Home away form Home but nicer"
"I spent a weekend here in this historical town. This accommodation is great value for the comfort and luxury it offers. It has a homely Chinese feel that is comfortable but not austere or hostile as the life around it appears. The bullet train from Beijing was interesting. Everything is in close walking proximity in this town. I recommend arranging a pickup from the train station arranged through the hotel. It began the weekend calmly and smoothly (not always the way in China) Iman is a delightful staff member who leads a friendly team of hotel staff and the owner was a genuine delight and low key. They tend and anticipate to all your needs. It was truly impressive and not something you always receive in China. The simple afternoon teas served upstairs in the cozy area with art, books and calligraphy on a freezing cold day was welcome. The room and bed was warm and comfortable (not always the case in China) and a delightful gift added was a treat. Honestly you could stay here and not leave to see anything else. There was a great sense of history in the architecture as well as the food. We were taken to see some really interesting historical buildings, an opportunity you would not get in the mainstream. There are activities offered and they were lovely. We did noodle and dumpling making. The shopping and souvenirs were much cheaper here than in other places so worth purchasing. They love to barter so do your best to get a great deal! In this part of China this accommodation offers a genuine great time away without the corporate schmoozing. Families are catered quite well here without disturbing others."Tugu Bali: "Excellent performance"
"We didn't stay at this hotel. We walked in off the street and were completely drawn in by the decor. It's gorgeous! We walked around, saw the store downstairs, the beautiful swimming pool and grounds, walked around every floor and saw the amazing views. There were lovely air-conditioned rooms with individuals working at their computers so I think this would be a great place for folks with computer work to do. We were told there was a free performance with dinner so we stayed. The performance was 3 different dances with men playing gongs and the gamelan. It was a wonderful evening in a fabulous space. We met an Australian couple who were staying there and chatted with them for a while. They said the rooms were wonderful too. Also a great place to stay or for a special evening for couples. Thank you Hotel Tugu for a wonderful evening and for the photos! Room Tip: Stay for the performance"Manda De Laos: "Gorgeous settings!"
The waterlilies and the huge pond is reason enough to have a meal at this place. Food is good too. All in all a lovely addition to our Luang Prabang holiday itinerary.Muang La Lodge: "Relax here"
"This is luxury and the perfect place to relax, with great rooms, good food and a peaceful atmosphere just sitting in the gardens or by the pool. We stayed a few nights in upper floor riverside rooms. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds and great balcony overlooking the river and the hot springs bathing area. Its well worth doing the 4x4 drive into the hills, as well as a guided walk around the local area which includes a pole raft across the river. The staff are friendly and helpful."
