The Island Lodge: "A great and cosy place to recharge ones batteries"
"We had a short stay in The Island Lodge from 8th to 10th of April - I can say, a great finding! It made us extend our stay right after the first three hours on Michels premises. For us, since we were looking for a quiet place away from the busy days in Ho Chi Minh City, it was an excellent option. It was a great experience in all aspect. You will find a very idyllic small road leading to the west-end of Thoi Son island followed by a small path guiding to the entrance of the resort. A beautiful, silent place, which was obviously built and choosen by someone paying a lot of attention to details, will appear. Rooms are very clean and harmonic, the staff is extraordinarily friendly and attentive, food and service met our expectations. Overall a very cosy atmosphere - a place to recharge ones batteries :)"Satri House: "Lovely, serene place to unwind!"
"Beautiful, serene hotel. The detailed decoration in all the hallways and rooms is amazing. The staff was always extremely friendly, ready to help with anything and made the stay very memorable. The hotel is not located in the middle of the busy area which is actually a nice change. The included breakfast is great and definitely a full meal (choice of local and western). This is really just a minor thing but the restaurant and room service hours could be a little bit better. Dinner ends quite early for what we are used to and walking back to town for a bite to eat is a bit far (and dark). The hotel is located quite a bit outside the busy streets where more touristy restaurants are open until late."Maduzi Hotel: "Our Bangkok oasis"
"We have stayed here numerous times and we'll keep coming back for more. The location is second to none, perfectly located right near the ever so efficient BTS, ASOK station, yet you feel as though you're In your own little oasis once you walk through the gates. (Do yourself a favour and buy a 'Rabbit Card' so you can jump on and off the transport system with ease and enjoy all that this vibrant city has to offer). The staff are always happy to assist with anything you require (btw, they won't accept any tips, it's their policy - no matter how hard you try.) The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully appointed. The mini bar is included in the price of the room too, another quirky yet welcome Maduzi offering. Breakfasts are delicious! We almost always get the Japanese set breakfast. You can enjoy this in their fabulous restaurant where you'll also have a buffet to pick from, all inclusive. Or, you can order it to your room and they'll put together a buffet selection for you. Yes, this is a small boutique hotel with only 40 rooms and 7 levels, no pool or laundry (you can get the hotel to organise your washing for you) but the beautiful ambiance all around, central location and friendly staff make up for the lack of amenities. We'd choose this place over any of the big guys any day!"Babe: "Great food and Ambience"
"It was a pre-birthday celebration from a good friend and I am so glad that I finally got to try the food at Babe. The highlight of the meal are the special chawanmushi, oyster with egg, Marble score 9 Wagyu and of course my surprised dessert. The ambience, food and service made my day. Kudos to the team."David’s Kitchen: "Fabulous restaurant experience!"
"On a cold day in England I heard on the radio in London last year that a restaurant in Chiang Mai had made it to the top 10 list of best restaurants in the whole world. As we'd already made plans to visit Chiang Mai on our forthcoming holiday to Thailand it seemed a very good idea to visit Davids Kitchen. What we didn't know then but know now, is that David's Kitchen isn't just about fine dining but was a fabulous experience. From the minute we walked in to the beautiful new building we were made to feel really welcome. David came to talk to us and was a really charming man who we could have gossiped with for hours! Once seated at a table which already had our names on, the staff were very attentive and helpful, the maitre'd making suggestions and even arranging for us to share some of the set menu so we could both try the delicious pumpkin soup. The beef bourginion was out of this world as was all the food, wine and cocktails. We felt very much at home there even though we'd never been there before. David and his lovely wife Prom along with their amazing chef Mr O have ensured that their restaurant isn't just a 5* experience but is real class. We will definately be back!!"Tugu Lombok: "Certainly unique!"
I was a little apprehensive as we drove down a dirt road and stopped at an old building which was really dark inside. Everything was not old, but antique, and of the best taste. A real treasure trove! Our room was splendid, and we much enjoyed the huge copper bath with its rain shower. The common buildings are spectacular, too, and the decor in the bar is brilliant. The staff, though not ultra-efficient, could not have been more attentive, and the food was very good. Having said that, one has to accept that Lombok has limited resources and that supplies sometimes run out. Massages were excellent, and we took advantage of the outings on offer, which were very well organised. This is a wonderful place to relax.sukoon: "Amazing"
"Had a great time at Sukoon. Surpassed all our expectations. Superb service and great food. Staff is friendly and they really look after the guests. Highly recommended. We went as a family and it was very comfortable and luxurious. "Heritage Suites: "Beautiful Oasis in this Amazing Place"
The wonderful feeling of this hotel began at the airport when you are collected in a vintage Mercedes - they give you a cool wet towel and a long cool drink. The hotel is slightly off the beaten track but it is such a beautiful place to return to at the end of a day of sightseeing and the peace and tranquility are priceless. We would not stay anywhere else. The staff were so accommodating (even when the roads outside flooded and they had to sandbag the entrance). The General Manager was always around and smiling and was so interested in what the visitors had to say. We had a bungalow which is larger than you will get anywhere else and had all the conveniences you could want or need. The pool and the food just completed the entire wonderful package. I didn't want to leaveVilla Song Saigon: "best of both"
"We spent 3 nights at villa song to round off our tour of Vietnam. The hotel is about 30 minutes by taxi or 20 minutes by the hotel's motorboat to downtown Saigon. For us it was the perfect compromise; avoid the stiffling heat during the day and relax by the pool and in the evening take the motorboat downtown to enjoy the best of the city. Hotel itself is all high ceilings; neutral tones and lots of nicely chosen art and books; very peaceful. Breakfast and dinner are served in the gardens overlooking the river or the adjoining dining room; breakfast is ala carte and is available all day which is a nice touch if you are only interested in relaxing. Lovely large pool which was never crowded; a small gym for those who should know better and an in-house spa; which we didn't use but seemed good value. We had a river-view room which was very spacious; walk in shower and also a bath. King size bed with a mattress to die for. Staff as seems to be the norm in Vietnam were unfailing helpful and polite. Cant think of any reason not to stay here the next time we return to Vietnam. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Villa Song Saigon: "Great quiet spot"
The hotel is in an interesting part of town with a lot of expats living nearby. Good local restaurants and the food at the hotel is really good. The conceirge go out of their way to be helpful especially Truc. They set up great dinner reservations and tours. We had the art suite with a connecting room for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Was very comfortable and spacious. Great beds and strong air conditioning. There was a bit of noise from the loud music from hotel next door but not much you can do about that--it is the city. Had a very nice massage. All around a great property.
