Inle Princess Resort: "Perfect balance between East and West"
"We loved our two nights at the Inle Princess and wish we'd had longer. Approaching the hotel in a canoe with a local oarsman foot-rowing was the start to a wonderfully relaxing and romantic stay. It is always tricky getting the balance between traditional style and atmosphere on one hand and modern needs on the other. I think they get it just right. The hotel is a series of traditional Burmese wooden houses with verandas, tiny gardens and an additional outdoor shower cabin. We had a lakeside view with wonderful sunsets. It is all beautifully landscaped with paths (lit by small lights at night) winding through trees. There's a pool and a spa where you can get a treatment and enjoy another stunning view. To our surprise there were no insects, apparently they come with the better weather. None even around lights in the garden. August turned out to be not a bad month to go - very few tourists, no bugs and (apart from an occasional downpour) good weather. All the staff were smiley and helpful and the whole place had a peaceful atmosphere. Our room and bathroom were large. The wash area was tucked away separately so the bathroom was basically a large room with a tub in the middle. The lighting was quite dim,so anyone putting on make-up would have a challenge not looking like a painted clown. Contrarily the curtains were quite thin so light streamed in once the sun was up. Large bed was very comfortable. We only ate Asian food and it was pretty good. Stick to cocktails, forget wine. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake will leave an enduring picture in my mind. I could have done without canned music which clashed with the atmosphere but I think it was only breakfast and in the bar. A day on the lake visiting floating islands and local craft-making was a delight. We had a tropical downpour and ponchos and umbrellas were immediately produced. We were on a tight schedule mixing work and holiday so couldn't have the 3 or 4 days we would have liked. For charm and a distinctive atmosphere this hotel deserves a good rating."Sandat Glamping Tents: "Très bel endroit au calme"
"Nous avons passé deux nuits sous tente. Le bruit des animaux et des insectes la nuit est extraordinaire. L'accès à l'hôtel passe dans la rizières par une petite route de terre. Le cadre est parfait, le seul reproche que je pourrais faire concerne le matelas qui était vraiment trop ferme."Amata Lanna: "Excellent"
Great location, close to the night market and a quick tuk tuk ride to the old city. About a 25 min walk. Great service, clean room, large bedroom and bathroom made with teak wood. Would definitely stay here again!Sanak Retreat Bali: "Outstanding"
We stayed here for the first 3 nights of our holiday and was perfect after a long flight. The hotel,is surrounded by wall to wall rice fields and is so tranquil that you cannot fail to feel at peace with yourself and the world! Our room was beautiful and we would fall asleep each night to the sound of frogs and crickets. Whilst there we did a trek to a local village and stopped off for a swim at some waterfalls. Our guide Arca was superb, very knowledgeable and you could tell that he actually enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the local area. There is a small pool are which is lovely for relaxing bybwhilst taking in the beauty of the surroundings. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to help. Whilst we were there my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Our travel agents unbeknown to us had informed the hotel of this fact and after dinner that evening we were presented with a cake to celebrate our anniversary. This Inthought was a really nice touch and totally unexpected. If you want to stay somewhere and be totally unhurried with lovely people with stunning panoramic views then this is the place for you.MesaStila: "Lovely resort set amidst Central Java Highlands"
This exclusive resort sits on a 22ha site with its own coffee plantation, organic farm and two dozen unique villas of various styles sourced from all over Central Java and Yogjakarta. Nicely tended gardens and walking path complement the daily activities to occupy guests for two or more days.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Friday dinner"
A really exceptional experience - divine location attentive staff and a warm welcome from the proprietors. Each dish was exquisite and was worth the premium prices charged. Atmosphere was also splendid and once the rains end I can imagine the al fresco experience is the best in Yangon as it has a wonderful location on the bank of Inya LakeVilla Song Saigon: "Peaceful retreat by the river"
"We stayed for one night but wish we had stayed for longer. The setting, history and design of the hotel are stunning. After a day exploring district 1 it was the perfect spot to come back to, to enjoy a glass of wine sat beside the river. The hotel offers a speedboat shuttle into the centre, which takes about 15 minutes - otherwise it took about 20 minutes off-peak to come back by taxi. The service was very good - we were delighted to be able to check into our room on arrival at 9am. The breakfast was a la carte and excellent - sat right next to the river - what a wonderful start to the day! Our room was quite small - but had a lovely balcony with river views. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Rachamankha: "Sublime sanctuary in the old city"
"Our stay at Rachamankha was everything we'd hoped. As you approach it through the narrow lanes and busy traffic it's hard to believe that such a tranquil spot can exist in the middle of the old city. From the moment you drive in, it's like coming home. No big swanky reception and lobby area, just a discreet desk and a warm welcome when you check in. The whole complex takes some exploring - I'd recommend asking them to show you all the facilities when you arrive (we were still finding our way around by the end of our stay). Rooms are lovely and private - the bathrooms are probably not up to such a high standard (shower is quite small by comparison) but not a deal breaker. The pool area, restaurant and bar are pretty close to perfect. Breakfast has so many choices it's a bit bamboozling some days. We could have quite easily stayed within Ranchmankha and not explored Chiang Mai at all - just lazing around the pool was idyllic. Thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay - you won't regret it!"Rachamankha: "Excellent restaurant! Best meal in Chiang Mai"
Hi! This review is for the restaurant only as we didn't stay in the hotel. We had lunch @ the Rachamankha restaurant and it was the best meal that we had in the 3 days we stayed in Chiang Mai! The best khao soi we had during our visit to Chiang Mai! Also to be noted, the service is 5 star from beginning to end!Inle Princess Resort: "Beautiful"
Beautiful quiet hotel. Lovely food and great staff. Wonderful sunset views from the deck near the bar. Funky lampshades and quirky statues. The wine cellar dinner was very special. Looking forward to returning.
