The Twelve Hotel: "Perfect Tranquility"
"Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our SE 4 month adventure and we really could not have picked a better start. The location is quiet and peaceful which you really need in Bangkok .. and if you have not visited the city before you will not realise how much an oasis like this hotel is needed! The staff were great especially the owner Atty who really could not do enough for us. The rooms are beautiful and the whole hotel oozes style and tranquility. Fresh bread, eggs cooked to order and great coffee for breakfast just the icing on the cake. We walked up the BTS ( sky train ) most days . About 15 min walk but just 40 baht for two in a tuk tuk. Lots of very cool bars and restaurants a short tuk tuk away if you don’t want to walk! A great neighbourhood with a great mix of Thai people and some tourists. Loved it and know that this hotel is going to be hard to beat on the rest of this adventure!"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Absolutely Lovely!"
We treated ourselves to a night at Tiger Mountain after a trek in the Annapurna region. The combination of a stunning location, gorgeous stone cottage accommodation and an excellent level of service sets Tiger Mountain apart from other places in Nepal. We were very impressed with the knowledge and service level of the staff, the comfort of the rooms and the excellent food provided. Two of us decided to do the morning guided bird watching tour, which was excellent. We saw an amazing assortment of birds on a short walk around the property, including a very pretty scarlet minivet. The views from the property are superb!Anopura Resort: "Heaven on Earth"
I have travelled extensively all over India for more than two decades and never come across a more perfect haven - the most wonderful respite after hectic days at JLF and the hurly burly of Jaipur. It is so rare to feel so spoiled in such an unspoiled setting of invigorating sweet air and such pleasing aesthetics. Ishwar and his team are without parallel for their genuine hospitality, highest standards of solicitous service and sheer warmth. There is so much to admire about this sanctuary - the pleasing artistic details, the supreme comfort, the cosseted sense of privacy and privilege and the most outstanding food.I cannot commend this place enough as somewhere to come to be at the still centre of the world, to rest and revive. One night is not long enough and even before leaving, yearn to return. Congratulations to everyone involved in this exceptional boutique project.Villa Song: "New Years Eve Dinner"
"We had Dinner at Villa Song on New Years Eve. The Building is beautiful and when you arrive and walk down the way to the entrance, it looks very enchanting. Everything was lit up with light chains. The table setting was nice and the waiters were very attentive. The special menu for this evening sounded promising and did not disappoint. If I had to say which dish I liked the most I couldn‘t because every single course was delicious and beautifully arranged. The dinner was accompanied by live music and later by traditional vietnamese music. We didn‘t stay overnight this time but it’s definitely on our list."THE SAMAR: "THE SAMAR"
" Siem Reap itself is something else. You can feel certain peace and tranquility immidiately after you land there. When you check in to hotel Samar Villa & Spa, this feeling of serenity and relaxation comes to it's full power. It is situated just a bit outside of the city centre limits, which is actually great. Tuk tuk is affordable so a 4,5 minute ride to the Siem Reap centre is really not a problem. On a contrary, nice way to cool down after a hot day in Angkor temples, before you step into the Samar swimming pool. Check in procedure is really smooth and relaxing, with nice welcome drinks and towels provided for all. Hotel is not big, so even if they are full, you are almost all the time alone and you feel like you have it all just for yourself. Staff are very nice and provide help but privacy in the same time, which we appreciated highly. Rooms are so nice, in french colonial style, maintained well, decorated with style. Breakfasts were so delicious, there is no buffet, but you can order your daily choice and they will prepare it for you. Very tasty. Some of the comments before were negative (eg maintainance, insect spraying,...). We found them not to be true, and as far as insects are concerned, of course they have to spray, but as the end result you can have nice relaxing evenings without bugs and mosquitos. They do it during the day, when all/most guests are out, exploring temples.... All in all, i really hope me and my family will come back to Cambodia and Siem Reap soon. Then we will stay in Samar again for sure! It is for every recommendation."Sandat Glamping Tents: "Gem of a property – Truly peaceful"
"A magical, beautifully landscaped property with eco-architectural designs... Exceeded our expectations! We stayed in the Ylang Ylang tent for 4 nights. The tents are secluded, comfortable and very well decorated, each with its own private pool and stunning jungle views. We enjoyed the in-room massages. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The shuttle service into Ubud town was useful. The owners will be adding yoga facilities to Sandat in the near future. A truly perfect place to unwind. I looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!"Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Unique Boutique Hotel with fabulous service"
"My sister and I spent 6 nights at this fabulous hotel and I can honestly say I have never stayed at a hotel with better service. It is a training hotel for the hospitality industry and each year there is a new intake of about 48 students from all parts of Myanmar. The attention to detail is unsurpassed in each of the six stilted huts which feature local crafts and fabric with a lot of teak wood. Breakfast was served each morning overlooking the reed banks floating in the lake. Stunning views in all directions. There is a very special shrine room featuring a fabulous shrine copied from a temple nearby. My favourite feature of the hotel is the Burmese cats. The hotel has taken on a project to reintroduce the Burmese cats to Myanmar. The breed had all but died out. Guests are allowed to spend time with these precious animals getting a cuddle. We were fortunate to attend a cooking course at the hotel with the head chef. What an amazing experience that was, not cheap but worth every cent. Perhaps my only negative at this magical place was the passing boat noise which is probably to be expected if you stay on a lake and that is the only form of transport available. I would strongly recommend a few nights stay at this very unique hotel. I can't finish this review without mentioning some of the very special staff members who made our stay even more enjoyable, thanks Pann Myet, Nay Zaw, Chaw Su and Thun and so many others. Stayed December 2016, traveled with family"Dewakan: "Great Birthday Treat!"
"Enjoyed every course served with great service. I was one happy birthday girl. It was exciting to wait and see how each dish was served, and all were creatively made. Completely different from anything I have ever eaten before, and would definitely love to go back! One thing though, the ambience doesnt give a fine dining feeling....I am sure that can be worked on."Nimmu House: "A really nice change of pace"
Most people spend their first night in Ladakh in Leh (the site of the airport) which is fine, but another- and arguably better- option is to drive one hour west to the village of Nimmu near the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, and stay at the wonderful Nimmu House. I stayed in one of the excellent and comfortable tents, which were both spacious and quiet (unlike Leh). The food was really good, especially the lemon chicken which was absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly, and the only improvements I could suggest would be some better grounds maintenance. I would definitely stay here again!Rachamankha: "Oasis in the midst of Old City"
Your stay in Chiang Mai will be very special when you stay at Rachamankha. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, gorgeous antiques abound throughout, and the guest rooms are spacious and well designed. There is a huge pool with beautiful blue tile, a library offering books as well as brandy, and a restaurant that offers wonderful Asian and Western dishes. The property provides a very peaceful and tranquil environment and children are not allowed as guests to maintain the ambiance for adults. There is a large DVD library available for free viewing. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Please note, it may be hard for taxi drivers to find as it is on a small lane/alleyway - my first driver had to call the hotel 4 times before finally finding it! But it was well worth the effort.
