Slow Villas and Spa: "Que du bonheur"
What happiness to Slow ... the place was absolutely amazing. The villa is beautiful and really well equipped. Everything is arranged with great taste. A very professional service and a wonderful spa too.Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A visit to paradise"
"I had another destination in mind for my Easter holidays, but a friend told me I had to go to Nepal, and especially to Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Great advice. The lodge is beautiful, in a magnificent location, and very comfortable. Every member of the staff was exceedingly attentive to me as well as to the other guests. Tiger Mountain was the perfect centerpiece of my first visit to Nepal. The staff was ready to make my visit as active as I wanted it to be, with many options for walking and hiking, sightseeing, or simply relaxing at the pool with one of the most fantastic views in the world. The meals were special events in themselves, with a choice of either western or Nepali cuisine. Yes, Tiger Mountain offers a glimpse of paradise. Stayed April 2017, traveled solo"Maison Polanka: "Our favourite place ever!"
We have never enjoyed a place to stay - anywhere we have travelled - more than Maison Polanka. This is like staying in someone's home - or the home you might dream about having one day. With large, beautiful gardens and an elegant swimming pool, but only a handful of rooms so it's very peaceful never feels crowded even with other guests around. We also had the best Cambodian food of our trip in their restaurant, which is really just a few tables outside by the pool, but outshone anywhere else we ate. Off menu, they were kind enough to make a special noodle soup (nom banh chok) one day for us for lunch - it was delicious and worth making a special request for (in advance). We stayed in the Khmer House as a treat, and it was beautiful and spacious, though I think anyone would be happy with any of the rooms they have. But the best part of Maison Polanka are the people who work there who are warm, welcoming and willing to help with everything, from tour planning, surprise afternoon cakes by the pool, and a wonderfully memorable trip to the Road 60 night market for a dinner of insects, stuffed frogs and other more familiar foods! Our thanks in particular to Cathy, Chan, and Vong! Don't bother looking anywhere else in Siem Reap, just stay here!
"I travel a lot to thousands of destinations but this one is absolutely incredible. I never had a feeling like i am in paradise the music , the food , the atmosphere everything is perfect I recommend to everyone to go there you will not be disappointed If i could put a 10 star i definitely would"Rachamankha: "3 nights in paradise"
My husband's 85 year old aunt and her daughter stayed at Rachamankha for 3 nights this August while they were visiting our family and my husband's mom in Chiang Mai. They loved loved the hotel. They appreciated the serenity and the architecture of this hotel. They said the service was perfect. Every morning they would tell me what they had for breakfast which was scrumptious. They also ate all their dinners there and enjoyed sampling Rachamakha's Thai food. It was a dream come true for these visitors to stay at this hotel.Satri House: "Un havre de paix"
"Arrived for 4 days in Luang Prabang we stayed 3 nights at Satri House. This hotel in the colonial charm only deserves compliments. A very original architecture with large rooms decorated former local objects. You feel more in a big mansion than in a traditional hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean, wooden floors and a large balcony. Very quiet, a nice staff and very caring. The breakfast (Western or Lao) was plentiful and very fresh. 2 swimming pools (a bit small) but with a large green space surrounded by large tropical trees to relax. You can borrow bikes for walking and / or go into town. Would recommend without reservation! "Dewakan: "A star on the fine dining stage of Malaysia"
Let me go straight to the point. We went here mid October and tried Dewakan's 17 course menu, one regular and one vegetarian (available upon request when you make your reservation). They dealt with the vegetarian request so, so well. The kitchen created completely new dishes that they'd never had on the menu before - razor clams, squid, red snapper, mushroom tarts, you name it. All presented and explained really well. Lots of delicious courses on both menus. The highlights were the duck (roasted to perfection), the lowland vegetables, the prawn umai, the mango curry and the slow cooked red snapper. The rice porridge with razor clams was also a pleasant surprise (served with ox tongue on the non-vegetarian menu). The service was great and the venue is nice and stylish. Dewakan is a little off track, probably a 35-45 mins drive from KLCC, but it's so worth it! Next time (because we will come back), I also hope there are sweet wines/ dessert wines available by the glass too. Cannot wait!Reverie Siam: "Happy return to this oasis in the northern hills"
This is my second visit to the Reverie Siam, and I loved it just as much. Delightfully, this time I felt no obligation to go and do any tours, and so I lazed my days away at the hotel, which it is certainly designed to support. There are two pools, a traditional rectangular one and a more family friendly organic shaped one, which some of the rooms can step straight out into. The buildings and grounds are all charming, a successful mix of Mediterranean planting and colonial "Indochine" architectural style. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and elegant. And the riverside pavilion is unbelievably peaceful (and barely used!). The breakfasts are included in the room price, and very generous (I learnt from last time not to have all the courses offered!) The bar itself is pretty well stocked, has a surprisingly good selection of spirits and wine. And the food is Mediterranean inspired (which I have to confess would be my one wish: if they also had some delicious Thai options on the menu, to me it would be perfect!). They offer free shuttles into town, but if only takes 15 minutes to walk in. The quiet little hamlet the hotel is attached to, just outside Pai, seems to be developing as a more independent hub - there are a few decent cafes, though bafflingly they all shut firmly by 6pm. (Why?!) However, there are worrying signs of development all around, and a large new ugly market building, hope they're not going to build too much round here. Note: once in the hotel, you can't see or hear any of this, it's all at a slight remove. Overall I loved my trip, you won't regret booking here. Want to give a shout out to Tida Massage on one of Pak's main streets (a few doors down from Charlie & Lek restaurant), it's not listed on TripAdvisor and I can't add it. Run by two lovely ladies (and their cheeky cat), really great massage - and I have easy access to good/cheap massage living in China, so am not easily won over. I happened to try them out on my first day, and went back every day, sometimes twice. It's a very simple place, not fancy spa. But Miss Oi (excuse spelling) is a magician and has an infectious laugh. One hour/200baht, a bargain! The Governor’s House: "Relaxing place into a colonial house"
"Cute 3-floors colonial house with a nice pool in the back of the hotel including chill-out terrace. 8 rooms only makes you feel like ""at home"". Room no. 1, next to the pool to be recommended. If you are lazy to go out, try restaurant. Notice choice of dishes at excellent quality at very affordable prices. I would recommend this hotel for short stays to PP traveling with friends or couples."
