David’s Kitchen: "Almost wheel-barrowed out!"
My wife and I were celebrating a year after getting married in Chiang Mai. There were whispers around town that David's kitchen was an excellent restaurant and we decided to chance our luck and book a day in advance. Luckily enough we managed to get a table and our dining experience surpassed anything we imagined! Everything was lovely. The ambience, the company, the setting, the staff, David himself came to chat to us (interesting man!) and the whole restaurant was thoroughly enjoying itself immensely. Most importantly, the food was incredible. We tried the escargot, the pumpkin soup, the signature beef cheek as well as the bourguignon. After that, we couldn't help but try their desserts in the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate souffle. By the end of it, we were so relaxed, happy and content that indefinitely felt like we needed to be wheel-barrowed out of the restaurant. I offer my highest recommendation to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Food lovers would leave David's Kitchen saying Chiang Mai definitely has a top restaurant in town.Inle Princess Resort: "Relaxing resort with great food"
"We stayed here for 2 nights in February and could have stayed a bit longer to explore the area more. This a lovely resort and the lake villa we had was really comfortable, clean with lovely bathroom and great outside shower. The food was great with lots of local dishes on the menu, using fresh produce. Service was excellent and the position of the restaurant just perfect. We organised a half day tour of the lake through the resort and this was certainly a highlight of our visit. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Rachamankha: "Secluded heaven"
This hotel is wonderful. Although Chiang Mai is nothing like Bangkok in terms of traffic it is Thailand's second largest city and can be very busy in places. This hotel in the old town is down a really quiet street yet you can walk to the temples, shopping areas etc very easily. It is beautiful - you can tell that it has been designed by architects. The staff are helpful and polite. The whole place exudes calm. Our room was lovely and the pool area is just stunning and never seems to be that busy. Breakfast was fantastic and we ate there one night and had a great dinner too. I would definitely stay here again when in Chiang Mai.Tugu Bali: "My Tugu Hotel Experience was nothing short of amazing"
"I am very late writing this review, but i have stayed at the Tugu Hotel in Bali a few times now. and it is nothing short of paradise. The hotel itself is made up of a number of villas scattered in a tropical garden and each one i have stayed in was very comfortable and extremely well facilitated, the main lobby, restaurant and each room is full of beautiful and traditional antiques from around Indonesia. The location is great, its in Canggu away from the Kuta and Seminyak areas, located next to Batu Bolong Beach, with Old Mans Bar opposite, for me it is the perfect location and setting. Dining at the Tugu is also an experience in itself, the menu is extensive, from traditional Balinese, Indonesian and Asian dishes to a full Western menu. everything (including Breakfast) was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The staff have always been nothing but friendly, happy to greet you and nothing is too much to ask. I really do not have one negative comment about this wonderful boutique hotel. Great place, i will continue to stay and dine there each time i head to Bali. Thank you Tugu Hotel for making my stays perfect :) "Satri House: "Very good hotel, phenomenal staff"
"I truly felt like I was a guest of the staff of this hotel. I must have had 5 conversations with members of staff where I learnt a lot about Lao culture. The hotel itself is very nice, a couple of small pools and a decent restaurant. My room was huge and very nice, it's important to remember that you're at a boutique hotel, not the Four Seasons. As others have written, the staff took care of my every need, they arranged a last minute excursion for me and somehow would manage to set up my room for sleeping the second that I left it for more than 10 minutes. The only negative is that it's a but of a walk into town in the Lao heat, but other that that it's a solid 4 star hotel."Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Idyllic stay"
The perfect place to relax for 2-3 days at the end of a holiday in India. Very comfortable and spacious bungalows set widely apart in landscaped grounds right next to the Arabian Sea. The sea was rough while we were there so we took advantage of the pool area instead, which was quiet and peaceful - some of the bungalows were unoccupied but I don't imagine the hotel is ever noisy/busy. This is a place to relax and unwind. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we appreciated little touches like the leaving gifts and the postcard that arrived for my birthday 4 months later! Will definitely visit again one day.Rachamankha: "Luxury retreat"
"A luxury hotel experience. Very helpful staff. They responded to every question or inquiry with great attention and desire to be as helpful as possible. Beautiful hotel. We had a standard room with a king sized bed, which was very nice and comfortable with a nice sized bathroom. Be sure to check out all the beautiful details of the grounds, pool, library, guest lounge area. We had an awesome couples Thai massage one evening that I'd highly recommend. There were a lot of mosquito's out in the evening, although i know they try to keep them away with coils, etc. I'm not sure if they spray for mosquitoes, if not, it could be worth considering. I would have liked to stay outside a bit more but mosquitoes love me so I had to retreat to our room. The restaurant and bar are lovely. The food was good but not amazing. With so much good food in Thailand, you might want to go elsewhere if you are only staying a couple nights. The location of the hotel in Chang Mai is okay but not the best for evening activities, which seemed to be more on the other side of town and a bit far to walk. Rather than walk late at night we would take a taxi or tuk tuk home in the evening. Thankfully the hotel provides cards with the name of the hotel so you can show those to the drivers because we never figured out the best way to pronounce the name of the hotel."Satri House: "Impeccable"
Excellent is the word to describe this accomodation. We stayed three nights in the junior suite and found everything was stellar, room, food, pool and staff. One thing to mention, among others, is excellent breakfast. Sterling bread, croissants, yogurt and jam are hand-made by an elegant lady at the accomodation, who went to French school before revolution and so speaks French. We ate dinner as well one evening, which was also pretty niceInle Princess Resort: "Birthday Dinner"
"We came to Inle Princess from another resort on the other side of the lake for a special birthday dinner organised by our agent. We were due to eat on the private island but unfortunately it was raining very heavily, so we ate in the wine cellar instead. I can't compare the wine cellar to the island as I never saw the island BUT the wine cellar was sooooooo gorgeous, I wasn't sad at all that we were moved. When we walked in, they'd decked it out with rose petals and candles in lotus pads. The table was made of a long canoe and the ceiling had this incredible painting of life on Inle on it. It was honestly the most beautiful wine cellar I've ever seen. They put some traditional music on and we had a waiter attending to our every need. We were then treated to a bottle of champagne and a six course feast. We started with home made breads and chutneys, then had a crispy pancake with herbs. The fish course was eel caught in the lake which we were dubious about but my goodness, it was delicious! Next came a cheese pastry with loads of yummy melted cheese in it. The main course was a selection of three meats plus a huge shrimp served with cauliflower gnocchi. The chef then came out to bring us desert herself, which was a trio of three homemade mouses served on a mini canoe. It was so pretty. She told us a bit about the food we'd eaten. Then to my surprise in burst ten or eleven resort staff, complete with a guitar and a chocolate cake, and sang happy birthday to me. They presented me with a lovely hand written card and a birthday present. As if this wasn't all enough, they then gave us homemade biscuits and the most amazing herbal tea. By this point I was stuffed and the cake had to come back with us in a box! All in all Inle Princess made this birthday very memorable for me and I wasn't expecting something so lavish. I would highly recommend them for a special occasion and for a unique dining private experience in the wine cellar!"Rakkojae Seoul: "A peaceful"
