Slow Villas and Spa: "A real ultimate experience"
"Imagine : a private pool, a typical villa on the Gilli isle... That was amazing and the staff was so nice with us... The breakfast, the candel light diner... All was perfect... Yes we were not far from the heaven..We will come back again for sure as soon as possible."The River Resort: "Spectacular"
This is one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed. The rooms are beautifully designed, the setting is stunning, the staff are both very friendly and highly professional, and we had a really lovely stay. Highly recommended.Maison Polanka: "An oasis in the city"
We felt well taken care of by the staff - every time we arrived we were greeted with cold towels and a willingness to help with any details to make our trip more enjoyable. The property is utterly an oasis in the city - tons of greenery and the pool the perfect way to cool off on a hot afternoon. Since there are not many rooms, we felt like we had the place practically to ourselves and the peaceful atmosphere was most welcome.Glenburn Tea Estate: "A lovely memory"
We will be talking about this wonderful tea estate and welcoming hotel for a very long time. The attention to one's every need, the delicious food, the delightful staff, the superb setting, the tea tour and treks are just some of the attractions of Glenburn. But don't take our words for it just go and experience it yourself ...Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Paradise for our family vacation in Thailand"
"We stayed at the Golden Buddha in April for 3 nights and my only regret is we weren't there for our entire 2 week vacation. In planning our trip I was non-committal to any one place concerned we would be stuck somewhere that didn't turn out as we expected, but had I only known. Our family of 5, kids aged 13, 11 and 9, stayed in the Baan Lucy which was beachfront and the perfect distance to the clubhouse and the bay. The house was lovely but when we come back, which we are definitely doing, I may look at one of the larger houses that had a bit more sitting/lounging area. We loved staying on the beach with the sunset and the breeze, but the back houses looked lovely as well. The arrival is something our family will never forget. Golden Buddha is not easy to get to and after a 3 hour drive from Phuket and a 90 minute ride on a pretty rough long tail, we pulled into paradise. The bay is great for kids of all ages as well as the grown ups. Pizza bar, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, swimming. It is a great way to spend the day. The beach is also beautiful and swimming is very nice- soft soft sand and great shelling. The food is over the top- very local and authentic but also sophisticated. There are a ton of families at the resort, for good reason, but could possibly be overwhelming for a couple on their honeymoon, although the clubhouse has an upstairs that was more dedicated to adults. Really a top notch resort in an unbelievable location. Almost hate sharing as it seems like a hidden gem in Thailand. Such a great experience after spending time in Bangkok, Railay Beach and Phuket. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"Rahai’i Pangun: "A very enjoyable relaxing journey"
"My first visit in Indonesian part of Borneo – Palangkaraya; A very enjoyable relaxing journey there and a very courteous river cruise with great food. Putu, I want to thank for the awesome time that we had with you and your crew – My wife and I still talking about all of our discussion. Orangutan, proboscis monkey, environment challenges, community development….and all about “Jungle Stories”! Thank you again for a wonderful weekend in Rugan River. We have been raving about it ever since! Visited March 2017"Nimmu House: "Charming and excellent"
"We stayed fro one night in a tent which was extremely comfortable. The food was also good and the entire property has great ambiance and style. The room was a little noisy in the morning because its in a village and you can't really sleep in late which is also fine in ladakh. The garden and the courtyards are great to sit and relax in. Would recommend this property for sure for a few nights at least. Wonderful experience overall."Pindaya Farm House: "Great Shan State retreat"
"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2.5 day, 3 night stay at the farmhouse. After working/living in Yangon for six weeks, Pindaya Farmhouse is a little paradise, a beautiful building, with wonderful spaces indoors and out to enjoy the rural scenery, along a quiet drive and road out from which we birded quite happily in the afternoon (enchanted by the Sooty-Headed Bulbuls...). The décor is stunning, including bright paintings by Myanmar artists that grace the common room's walls. We also appreciated the farmhouse's efforts at sustainability, with solar panels, solar heated water for showers, rainwater harvesting and storage, and ample vegetable gardens and newly planted fruit trees. I can't wait til the mango trees begin to supply fruit! The rooms are extremely comfortable, each with private sitting spaces outside affording vistas of the rural countryside. Lighting is excellent, and the wifi system was quite reliable (also surprising to find!). The kitchen offers a nice array of dishes for lunch and dinner, although Win Naing also recommended an excellent restaurant, the Golden Moon, on the outskirts of town. We spent one half-day touring the caves, the nearby paper/umbrella artisans, and a weaver. On our second full day, we hired a guide to take us on a 5-mile hike up into the hills, where we visited a village in the bamboo grove and watched potato ""crackers"" being smoked/dried and enjoyed green tea and good conversation with the lady of the house. Along the way, we were passed by a couple and two Myanmar guides who were hiking from Pindaya to Kalaw, a three-day trek. I also collect textiles, and was sent to a little gift shop that had a beautiful selection of women's ""longyi"" cloths. Afternoons were for relaxing and reading, while evenings we especially enjoyed our final dinner shared with fellow travelers. In mid-February the air is still cool and delightfully dry in Pindaya, a welcome respite from Yangon, although it was always a bit smoky from the farmers who are burning crop residues in preparation for the upcoming growing season. That gave a special glow to the sunrises and sunsets, which were both stunning. Thahara made it very easy for me to arrange all aspects of the trip, managing my extensive email inquiries, helping me to settle on dates, and even arranging flights for us between Yangon and Heho near Taunggyi. I paid online via a secure epayment website, it could not have been easier. I plan to recommend Thahara's Pindaya Farmhouse to all my Yangon colleagues!"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A very special place"
It's not often that I come across a place like Tiger Mountain which has such a rich history, character and genuine warmth. The staff led by Marcus is first class - almost all of them have been with the lodge from the start (nearly 20 years) so there is a sense of real family and connection. A colleague of mine who has lived in Kathmandu for the past 20 years recommended this gem to me and i can see why. Escaping the chaos of Kathmandu to the quiet hills and being surrounded by beauty, clean air and the option of relaxed strolls through the local village or an afternoon reading a book with tea while facing the mountains - it was perfect! But most of the all, the people made it special. Thank you Marcus and team for making my stay so memorable and for connecting me to such lovely and interesting guests - like Carol below whose birthday i celebrated on my first night there. I will be back very soon.Tugu Bali: "The Best Holiday Experience"
Amazing experience, location and service. Highly recommend for anyone looking to truly experience a relaxed and friendly environment. We were able to relax and rest in this amazing hotel! The staff offer exceptional service and have excellent attention to every detail, we will return and holiday here again. Thank you!
