tugu bali: "Traditional old world Balinese style hotel"

"Drive through traditional villages and rice fields. Only 30 minutes from Seminyak. It is a lovely drive and sometimes people want to see the rice fields without spending a day driving to Ubud. Arrive at Tugu, lovely old world traditional hotel for a nice lunch. A couple of hours of your time well spent. Relaxing, peaceful and educational. "

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Enchanting and Nostalgic Tea Estate with Majestic Views"

I had been trying to come to Glenburn for over 10 years and was afraid it would disappoint. It exceeded our expectations! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the entire estate has an old-world feel to it. It is situated in a majestic valley with views of Kanchenjunga. We took lovely walks each day. I especially appreciated the customer service and attention to detail. We had tea upon demand and amazing food. The prices might seem high, but considering that everything is included (food, excursions, transportation to/from the Bagdogra airport, etc.) the prices seem fair. I really loved the tea tour and thank Parveen (and Ranjan) for sharing their knowledge and making our stay so special. I also enjoyed meeting the other guests and having meals together -- it was a unique experience and we got to know many people on top of their game in different fields. We stayed four nights, which was ideal. I would love to return and highly recommend Glenburn Tea Estate for anyone looking for a picturesque getaway!

Manda De Laos: "Romantic VD dinner"

Our hotel arranged the booking and they put us in the most romantic solo table in the middle of the pond with a lit umbrella above. We had the tasting platter for 2. Food was absolutely amazing, especially the stir fried buffalo and the fish salad. The chicken stew was the real deal as it had pieces sakarn wood in it which sneaks up on you like szechaun peppercorns. Everything came beautifully presented, unfortunately it was too dark to take a decent pix with my ipad. Can't think of a more romantic place in LPQ to spend VD. The resto manager attended to us himself the whole time.

Reverie Siam: "Sophisticated and stunning without being pretentious"

We loved our stay at the Reverie Siam. We took advantage of their free shuttle into town for night life which was easy and convenient. We also rode bike and also rented motorbikes to get to out of town adventures. It was always so nice to return to the tasteful serenity of the property. The details are just wonderful. We also appreciated a well executed menu and wine selections. What a wonderful getaway.

Sandat Glamping Tents: "WOW!! THE BEST HOTEL I’VE EVER STAYED IN!"

"Well what can I say, it was such an amazing experience I cried I was that overwhelmed. What beautiful, kind and caring people who actually meant it. Tengo the manager was by far my favourite who was so kind he made me cry at breakfast, I gave him the biggest hug when we left :) We was sadly only here for 3 days :( and had so much booked we didn't spend as much time at the hotel as we would of liked. I say hotel because it's far too lovely to be called glamping :) I had a yoga lesson first thing in the morning which was breath taking over looking the rice fields and a great teacher who corrected you when you were out of place. I also had a massage in my room which was the best massage I've ever had. We ate here twice and both times the food was superb along with their cocktails and wine and such a stunning setting, the owner really does have amazing taste, shabby chic but with immense attention to detail. The waitress's were also lovely and so sweet, would do anything for you. People moan about the location, but it clearly states it's not in the centre and offers a free shuttle bus which is basically a private taxi to 2 drop off points so really no need to moan there. We had a lovely driver one day who took us to the waterfall, holy temple and coffee plantation which I'd highly recommend. We got the shuttle to the monkey forest one day, if you're not scared do try and buy some bananas to feed them, it's a great experience when they jump on your shoulders, amazing creatures. The hotel offered to book the mount batur trip for us which is a MUST but i'd advise booking in the town, it's a quarter of the price and you get to do this with a group which is much more fun, keep in mind you have to be quite fit and there are no loos once you start climbing, but one of the best experiences of my life, incredible and breath taking views. Breakfast was beautifully laid out and they will cook you any eggs you like, omelette, pancakes, scrambled etc, some great healthy options too including bee polen for your cereal. Now if you are scared of creatures this place is not for you and they state that on their site, I loved it and really enjoyed the frogs hopping around and beautiful geckos, but they will be in your bathroom and may even visit at dinner, but hey this is why this is called glamping, you're in with nature and I think it's fantastic but like I said if if you're scared it's not for you. The rooms are out of this world with stunning furniture and outside bathroom and your pool which is shared or your own depending what you book is right outside your room which is great. I honestly can't express to you enough what an unbelievable experience this really was and was a sad moment to leave such a unique and beautiful place, I will defiantly return as Ubud completely stole a piece of my heart!"

Tugu Lombok: "Fantastic stay"

"My wife and I had a wonderful honeymoon at Hotel Tugu Lombok. The environment was quiet and serene, the beach was clean and the water was clear. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. They remembered our names and greeted us by our names. For the meals, they also prepared well wishes written on leaves which made the ambience nice. During the trip, as there were heavy rains, the original suite that we were staying in experienced some water leaking issue from the roof. However, the staff was quick to settle it and provided us a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite. We also had fun visiting the Gili islands. The private dragon boat and private guides gave us the flexibility on when and what we would like to do during the island hopping. The bendi ride (horse cart ride) was also a new experience for us. On the last night of our stay, the staff also prepared us a surprise with nice towel foldings of different animals, like monkey, elephants and bears. Coupled with the candles, the room gave a different ambience altogether. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tugu Lombok and we recommend it for those who wish to have a quiet and serene stay. Satri House: "Wish I could stay longer"

"I was really looking forward to staying here having looked at the hotel website before leaving home. Sometimes the reality can be a bit of a let down but at Satri House my expectations were exceeded. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are lush and well cared for and the decor just perfect. I adore old colonial styling and Satri House really delivers. The rooms are exquisitely decorated, tastefully furnished, clean and comfortably, and have all the amenities you require. There is no in room TV but that would not fit the ambience of Satri House and as we all know there is never anything worth watching anyway. Since we all travel with smart phones and tablets this is not a problem and there is wifi in the rooms. The staff are all very friendly, particularly at the poolside bar where we were well looked after by Ban. Breakfast is a la carte, which makes a nice change from having to keep going up to a buffet, with a good selection of dishes on offer. I particularly liked having a decent sized pot of tea in the morning. As the title of the review says , I wish I were staying longer. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"

Dewakan: "Super meal"

"We expected outstanding food and we definitely got it, service was exceptional too, setting very serene and all added to the overall experience, one of delight all round. We even spoke to the chef/owner at the end of the meal and he made the time to speak to us properly and in depth about his concept. This isn't a complaint in the slightest, but the price was so competitive I expected less than I got! For what we got I would have paid rm250 per head and considered it value for money, each dish and snack very well constructed. Looking forward to next visit"

David’s Kitchen: "If there was a higher score of excellence then that goes to David’s Kitchen"

We went to DK due to Trip advisor and the fantastic reviews. From the moment you step in to the sad time of leaving this wonferful restaurant you are taken to another planet. The staff are highly trained no doubt by David and his wife Prom. My only suggestion to someone thinking about trying DK is just go there and enjoy being spoilt by David and his team. Satri House: "Stunning"

"We stayed at Satri house for 3 Nights a few weeks ago. It is the most outstanding hotel I think we have ever stayed in, everything about it is beautiful our room, the surroundings, the food, the staff(nothing was to much trouble) I wanted to live there!!. Our room was tucked away in a corner with its own little courtyard and was so peaceful. Satri house is full of its own special charm and a fabulous place to retreat to after a hot day sightseeing around Luang Prabang, I think I left a little piece of my heart there.
