talabgaon castle: "Family owned Castle in the Indian countryside"
A group of four friends on the way from Jaipur to Ranthambore stopped at this magical place. It was like stepping back into time, when life was slower, and more elegant. The hotel is the generations old great-house of a noble family from Jaipur, who also happen to be some of the best polo players in India! The grounds include a polo field, gorgeous pool, and lots of little paths that criss-cross the gardens. The family treats you like a guest and like a member of the family — while we were there we were treated to a beautiful supper on the grass in the late afternoon sun — magical! All the rooms have been renovated and have amazing marble floors and fabulous baths, each with its own unique series of nooks and windows with amazing views of the countryside. The little village that is just outside the gates of the castle is charming too. What a delightful contrast to all the business that is India. A great place to relax and experience life at an Indian family 'home.'Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Idyllic setting, quality accommodation."
We stayed for 6 nights in a delightful room, located in one of the 3 Khmer houses located in a tropical garden, with lotus pond and a fabulous pool. There were plenty of comfortable lounges and sun beds all with sun canopies to shield us from the strong sun. The pool was a perfect temperature. The food was beautifully presented and the set menus were delicious. The breakfast choice was excellent, and served over looking the garden. Tea and coffee was available all day if the dining area, there was plenty of comfortable seating around the lotus pond and in a covered in area out of the sun if preferred. The crockery used was unique and made by Cambodian Artisans. The staff were very attentive and gave us brilliant hints and advice about tours etc. The drivers we had, were arranged by the hotel and drove very safely and we felt relaxed on our drive to Siem Reap airport. The quality of the service in Vietnam is first class. This is the fifth hotel we have stayed in during our visit and they have all been excellent. The Island Lodge is a bit special. It is the vision of the owner and his wife. You get the feeling that you are staying as a house guest. The only pity for us was that our stay was only for one night. Do have a massage or other treatment. I am sure there is lots to see around the hotel but we just soaked up the atmosphere along with having some great food and a few beers.Locavore: "Perfection!"
"Had the 7 Course tasting menu and it was incredible. The atmosphere and service was friendly and attentive. Even before the first course came in we were served seven or eight amuse bouche, all gorgeous in look and taste. We had the drink pairing wich is a stroke of genius when you compare to the traditional wine pairing. The whole menu was exciting from start to finish and I dare say it was amongst the best dining excperiences I've ever had. My mother and I had one of the nicest stays of our trip to India here. The food is excellent. The staff are lovely and the location is peaceful.It was a nice break from the frenetic cities of Rajasthan. The accommodation is excellent. The decor is very tasteful. We regretted not being able to stay a second night. The staff are very well trained. They are helpful without being intrusive.4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Maybe one of the best over the world"
"I stayed two nights at Four Rivers and it was a nice dream. This floating hotel is located in a beautiful jungle's river far away from everywhere. The rooms/tents are luxurious but not fancy. With private terrace over the river, you can swim in the fresh and clean water of Tatai's river. Also you can drink a beer while you're watching the jungle, the birds and the fishes. Food in 4 rivers is 5 stars and the staff also. Everybody is very professional and try to explain you everything about the jungle, the life in the nearest villages etc. They have many trips to discover the area. Don't miss the fireflies trip during the night, kayaking in the mangrove and the sunset cruise. So, everything is perfect in this ecolodge."JL Studio: "Superb meal and experience"
I really like this restaurant. It doesn't have too many tables, so it's not crowded. The kitchen is open to the customers - always a good sign. The staff are all good. The food, cooking, and experience, all superb. Not too expensive, although it is not cheap. The pork fat candles were excellent. Everything was excellent. Had a glass of very good wine. The wait staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The chef came out to talk to us. We had a lovely time.SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Perfect harmony"
