Cuca: "Wonderful Experience"

Review by: bilka | Source: Trip Advisor
We were a group of 7. We started with drinks out in the beautifully presented and very large garden then moved inside for dinner. We partook of the degustation menu and spent 3 hours marveling at the tastes of each dish. The kitchen is open to the view of all restaurant patrons. It was a wonderful experience.

Misool Eco Resort: "🌴☀️🐟 Рай на земле 🌴☀️🐟"

Review by: 2707792015 | Source: Trip Advisor
Stayed January 2017, traveled with friends"

The River Resort: "The best of the best"

Review by: MrSmartyPants | Source: Trip Advisor
This is a great resort. My wife and I travel a bit and this was is the finest place we have stayed. We were there for 2 nights. Fantastic views from our room of the Mekong and while having meals. The reception arranged for a nice tuk tuk driver to take us to the nearby ruins of Champasak and to Champasak to have lunch on the river and to see the early 20th century 'palace' for the king of Champasak. The food at the hotel and the staff are great. We arrived at the Pakse bus terminal and a vehicle from the resort was there pick us up. We hope to return here, just to relax.

Maison Polanka: "On point design boutique"

Review by: arieller | Source: Trip Advisor
Charming boutique hotel with fantastic design and grounds. Well located and helpful staff. The restaurant itself was a bit mediocre, but the setting was so special that it didn't matter. The spa was also quite enjoyable. Given the price compared to some of the other design hotels in the area, I would definitely choose Maison Polanka again.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Pearl surrounded by tea bushes"

Review by: MaartenMike | Source: Trip Advisor
This hotel doesn't only welcome you at their doorstep, but already at the airport of Bagdogra: the driver offers you a cold drink and wet towels to get you set for the three and a half hours drive to the estate. On the way, you are offered real Glenburn tea, sandwiches (which we really liked) and cake. How English. The trip to the hotel is a long one and the last 45 minutes are like sitting in a blender. But it is all more than worth it: the setting of this hotel is absolutely gorgeous: the tea plantation surrounds the beautiful house and the view on the Himalaya is stunning. We were warmly welcomed by the English couple who manage the hotel on behalf of the Calcutta-based owners and they do an excellent job in making certain the guests are comfortable. We stayed in the old property in a spectacular room with a huge bed, fireplace and small garden room (it was, indeed, the room we requested. In advance they would not confirm the room to us, and to be hones, considering the price this hotel charges, we find it incorrect that they should not accept reservations for specific rooms). All service you could think of is included in the price. We love the 'bed tea': a serving of tea in your room just after you wake up. Also, it was quite a treat that you could ask for tea and cake at all times of the day. The (western) breakfast is good, but the homemade jam was more like a mash than a jam. The specials were delicious and also the homemade muesli (with home made yoghurt). The dinner was served on a large table with all guests (you can opt out, and have a private dinner). Although this sometimes takes a bit getting used to, we enjoyed talking with the various guests. The food was mostly delicious, but there were some misses here and there. The hotel is quite a distance from Darjeeling and Kalimpong, but the hotel can arrange your visit there, too (driver is included in the price). Having said that, the trip is quite long and we were content with visiting only Darjeeling on one day, and we spend the rest of our time reading, touring the tea factory (including tasting: amazing how different all the teas taste), making walks through the tea plantation and to the river (where the hotel organized a pleasant BBQ. Heed their warning to put DEET on. I forgot a spot on my arm and the small flies got me good; it itched for days after!) They have wifi in the hotel, but the connection is terrible. It is typically a location to relax after an exhausting trip through Nepal, Bhutan or India, so we would recommend staying at least three nights; a shorter stay doesn't seem worth the trouble. We would not be surprised if we found ourselves staying here again!

Samanea Beach Resort: "A lovely place fr a hideway"

Review by: Asiadvisor | Source: Trip Advisor
"Second visit to Samanea, and the gardens have grown, the views from the jetty still amazing, the mangrove project ambitious and fascinating... and the team and service much better than the first time. Congratulation for the good work!"

Villa Song Saigon: "Great"

Review by: zaubererpferd | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Stayed here two days for business to avoid the usual ""Hilton, Hyatt ,,,"" routine and didnt regret that. The position to the river is unique altough if you are heading for the city centre you have to face either a boat trip or a longer taxi lift. Rooms are modern, sleeping quality very good. The restaurant cant decide what is the focus on (they call it fusion).  Breakfast only week point I can name (e.g. if you order ""bread basket"" you would expect butter, jam etc coming along with this, but here it means only bread so you have to ask for every item). Staff beautiful trained."

Villa Song: "Singing praises for Villa Song"

Room upgraded and flowers for my wedding anniversary, personal service put a smile on my dial. Absolutely nothing to fault with our stay. Meal in the evening was great as was the breakfast. The complimentary speed boat to the city was fantastic too.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Restful stay"

Review by: llewellynroger | Source: Trip Advisor
"We enjoyed our stay here very much. You can do as much or as little as you like. Our spacious room in the new bungalow faced onto the mountain ranges in the distance, over nearby Sikkim, and we could also look up to Darjeeling way above. We enjoyed our ""Bed"" coffee each morning. We visited Darjeeling, had a guided walk around the tea gardens plus walking there on our own, and a guided walk to the suspension bridge into Sikkim, followed by a very good lunch by the river. The food was very good in general, breakfast and lunch are served outside. We enjoyed the dinners in the old bungalow dining room with its huge table.Though communal dining may not be for everyone. Lovely place to stay, once you have arrived after the grim road trip there! Recommend timing flight in so that the drive doesn't need to be done in the dark. But worth it for a minimum 3 nights perhaps, we stayed for 5. Very much enjoyed our stay, a good end to a busy trip."

Amata Lanna: "Lovely little oasis in the city"

Review by: AnnaS715YW | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and I are staying here currently for 4 nights, this being our last and we have really enjoyed our stay. It’s really does feel like a little oasis in amongst the hustle and bustle of the city. There aren’t many rooms so it has a lovely boutique feel to it with lovely plants and trees. The staff are really helpful and friendly. It’s in a great location to the markets and old city. Everything is within walking distance or a short car journey. Lovely restaurants near by as well. Would highly recommend this hotel.
