Rachamankha: "A tranquil haven and touch of paradise"

Review by: Graham R | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed five nights in this beautiful hotel. It is a haven of peace in the busy city of Chiang Mai. The restaurant (Courtyard under the stars) is perfect with excellent food, perfect service and evening Thai musicians. Rooms are traditional with all mod cons. Public areas are charming and the pool perfect. Most areas of the old city are within gentle walking distance 10 - 45 minutes). All staff are most helpful. We found this hotel to be a touch of paradise.

The River Resort: "Wunderschön"

Review by: 0815Dede | Source: Trip Advisor

Chakrabongse Villas: "Wow!"

Review by: Paul S | Source: tripadvisor.com
This must be one of the finest residences I have ever stayed in. Imagine you are in the centre of Bangkok right by Wat Pho (totally frenetic) but inside the hotels grounds is a sea of calm and tranquility and right in front you have your own deck right on the banks of the Chao Praya river. Fantastic. We also chose to eat at their restaurant one night, for non residents there's a 3 month waiting list. The food and service were superb. The hotel also has its own long tail boat on which we had a 2 hour sunset trip, bumpy but amazing!

Samanea Beach Resort: "Truly relaxing"

Review by: Lynne W | Source: Trip Advisor
"Our 4 night visit to Samanea was perfect in every aspect. Very tranquil surroundings. Villas are large and well equipped. Enjoyed the outdoor bathroom and the 2 resident frogs. Staff cannot do enough to help guests. They are friendly, polite and very efficient. I like that they employ locals. Food was enjoyable and full of flavour. Restaurant service excellent. Staff will set up tables for meals anywhere you wish. By the pool, the beach, the jetty or you can dine in the restaurant. This is truly a place to relax. The hotel can arrange tours or tuk tuk for getting about. We arranged transport from Phnom Penh with private car. The Resort can arrange this for you. Very good driver and well presented and reliable at competitive rate. Driver Tim speaks good english and is helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend Samanea and hope to return one day."

Muang La Resort: "well worth the long trip!"

Review by: Martin B | Source: tripadvisor.com
As you bump along a main road for hours to cover what looks like no distance at all on a map, you wonder what possessed anyone to build a resort out there in the sticks. And when you finally get there, have a welcome drink and a guided tour around the place, settled into your bungalow and are blissfully soaking in an outdoor hot tub fed from a natural spring, you realise that this resort is an extraordinary achievement of vision and hard work. It is managed and animated by two young men, who make it all look deceptively easy. Food is outstanding, imaginative and fresh; accommodation is large and comfortable, care is attentive and personal, nothing seems too much. We have only one regret: we should have stayed longer.

Inle Princess Resort: "Magically peaceful"

Review by: Stephen_and_Anna | Source: Trip Advisor
We've been lucky enough to stay in some great hotels over the years, but this is probably the most magical location we've stayed in. We had stayed the previous night in a monastery as we were trekking in the Shan hills. Also magical, but very basic. To then arrive at the Princess Resort by boat - and travel everywhere by boat over the next day or so - was wonderful. We had a villa with an amazing sunset view out over the lake - a a great way to relax at the end of long days exploring the area. Highly recommended!

Satri House: "Charming and Excellent"

Review by: GeraldSingapore | Source: Trip Advisor
"I've not had such a great hotel experience in a long time, and considering at the pace i'd been travelling in the past 2 months to UK, Africa and Singapore, the staff at Satri house was a great respite in making me enjoy travelling again. I'm sure the magical town has its own charms too, but this great boutique really made the trip much more magical. The location is very good, although not smacked in the middle of the old town, you can get there by foot easily, with just a 10 minute stroll, or 2 minutes on the hotel's bicycle (traffic in Luang Prabang is so light, you'll fell safe even on the main roads). The building itself is a gorgeous colonial building and it's as if you've stepped back in time when you enter the hotel through the corridor of bamboo tress in the walk way. My room was on the ground floor, and was charmingly appointed in a classical style with four poster bed that staff will drape over with the mosquito net during turn down. The bed was firm and comfortable, and there was a pillow menu available too. In room, there were plenty of bottled mineral water to let you stay hydrated. i also like the lack of a TV in the room so you have no choice but to linger in the amazing lawn or pool side, or explore the town. The bathroom has a nice rain shower and another hand held shower faucet, and is spacious. Everywhere you walk on this property, staffs will smile and ask how your day is. Even the property manager, is constantly seen moving around, chatting and talking to guests. One afternoon, I was walking and saw him form a distance - he immediately ended his call on his cell while i was still 50 meters away and greeted me when I approached. It's this little touched that makes one feel so valued as a guest. When I checked in, the staff was so eager to tell me the sights I should visit and offered to help me plan a day trip to the waterfalls, which I had given up trying to go prior to my arrival as it seemed so far, and had it not been the help and information offered, I'd be so sad to pass the trip to witness the amazing falls. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone as it's a great place to stay in Luang Prabang!"

Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "What a great experience"

Review by: nathalieyes | Source: tripadvisor.com
"I spend 3 nights at this beautiful Hanok and it was an amazing experience ! Rakkojae is in the hearth of Bukchon, in a very quiet alley. But still, its in the centre of Seoul, Anguk Subway Station is just 5 minutes away, and plenty of restaurants, sights, shops etc. are in easy walking distance (...) Dinner and breakfast are included, and are traditional and very tasty. You can also have a continental breakfast with toast and eggs if you prefer. Korean breakfast was with smoked fish (very tasty), abalone porridge (tasty, but a bit too excotic for me as a breakfast dish) and I was glad that on the third morning (I had continental breakfast on the second morning) there was a tasty soup instead of the porridge. The ladies who run Rakkojae are very friendly. I tried the Mud Sauna on the 3rd night and liked it a lot (so I wish I had tried it on the first night already). Overall, I loved it at Rakkojae, and can only recommend it. Its an amazing and beautiful place, that words can really describe. You have to go there and experience it yourself. And if you can, stay for at least 2 nights."

Slow Villas and Spa: "Fantastic"

Review by: georgiewadsworth | Source: Trip Advisor
"Wow, what a lovely place, we arrived early and were met by their very friendly staff who checked us in and let us use the spa to freshen up in as our villa wasn't free yet. It has a boho chic vibe about it and our villa was lovely, very clean, cool bathrooms, comfy bed, our own coconut grove (loved that) and a nice sitting area and perfect sized pool for a refreshing dip! For us it was in the perfect location, we're not really the backpacking sort so it was far enough away from the main harbour bit to be away from it all yet close enough to walk if we wanted to go to one of the beach clubs. Our favourite beach was on our side of the island just 5 min walk from slow down a path which had a couple of great restaurants on and was un spoilt and beautiful! Slow arranged for us to have a private snorkelling guide take us round all three islands, this was one of the best days Iv had in my life! Slow staff bent over backwards to make our trip great and we shall definitely be returning again!!! Oh and the breakfasts are so delicious, definitely the best breakfasts Iv had in Indonesia and in most places Iv stayed around the world!"
