Manda De Laos: "special spot in special town"

Review by: bouchee | Source: Trip Advisor
Favorite of many good ones in Luang Prabang. Built around a UNESCO protected fish pond, with wood decking and a lounge area. Beautifully lit at night. Sensational Laos food with French touch. Lovely French hostess. We recommended to two sets of people we met, all of whom enjoyed it as much as we did.

Villa Song: "Perfect escape"

Review by: James L | Source: Trip Advisor
"Spent five days at the Villa Song and it was hard to fault anything, from the service to the amenities. This is a perfect spot to explore Saigon but escape the craziness of city life. We would particularly recommend a happy hour cocktail (or two) on the terrace overlooking the Saigon River. If I was to make one suggestion, it would be for a more frequent speedboat service, especially in the afternoon."

Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Lost in Paradise"

Review by: Grace R | Source: Trip Advisor
This is not a hotel but Paradise. So beautiful with a nice garden. Room is very very big with simple decoration but very convenient. We love the scenery around the hotel, it is wonderful. Sitting at the middle of the nature, reading a good book and drinking a cocktail. It was the most relaxing moment in my life

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Expertly guided & amazing hospitality at Yala"

Review by: David L | Source: Trip Advisor
"Wonderful! Look no further if you’re planning a safari to see the leopards of Sri Lanka. Noel and Celine + their crew have years of experience and the depth of knowledge about the park and its wildlife and flora. They have an extraordinary ability to locate and spot animals. We saw leopards 3 days in a row thanks to Sajith’s eagle eyes. Aside from the actual safaris, the accommodation and the food are truly first class. We feel very fortunate to have been introduced to high end Sri Lankan cuisine by Noel and his team - a wonderful variety of curries, sambols, breads and rice dishes. Sri Lankan cuisine is uniquely delicious and varied with an emphasis on freshness and fine spices. Noel’s on-site kitchen is top notch. There are many other safari operators that we considered but Noel’s team takes a very principled approach to the experience that they want to offer their guests. While on safari, we had observed other tour operators acting in cavalier and reckless ways. Noel and his team take a very long term view on conservation and encourages responsible tourism - this is evident in all their practices. We feel extremely privileged to have experienced Yala National Park up close and personal with Noel and his team. We would happily recommend this experience to anyone! 5⭐️"

The Cabochon Hotel: "Charming and Comforting"

Review by: Luis C | Source: Trip Advisor
"So relieved every time we got back to the hotel from the hot streets of Bangkok. A great experience in comfort and service. Simple breakfast but pretty nice and complete. The Design and atmosphere are de real winners at this place. Location its also a good feature, not down at the center of the City but not to far. A good center point of new and upcoming attractions and the resto of the neighborhoods. Very recomendable."

Tugu Bali: "An absolute gem. Stop searching: stay here"

Review by: aviddat | Source: Trip Advisor
"We really struggled to find the right hotel to stay at on the beach in Bali, after a three night stay in Ubud. We considered all of the top properties including the Legian, the W, the Oberoi, and the Alila in Uluwatu, but finally decided on the Tugu -- a dark horse pick! We are not fans of most major chains, and really liked the idea of staying at an authentically Indonesian boutique property. We were not at all disappointed by our choice. Firstly, with regard to location, I think we did the right thing by staying in Canggu over Seminyak. We enjoyed driving to Seminyak (about 30 minutes away) for evening drinks and dinner, but had no regrets at all about not staying there. Seminyak is pretty congested, very commercial, and the beaches can be dirty. I love going to the mall as much as the next person, but I did not want to be staying next door to one while on my vacation to Bali! Canggu, in contrast, was peaceful, had no huge high rise hotel developments and malls, and we were within walking distance of plenty of chilled out restaurants and bars. The stretch of beach in front of the Hotel Tugu, despite being fully open to the public, was spotless. The hotel has a private garden area that overlooks this beach, which has sun loungers, beds, towel and food service. Bear in mind, however, that this is a surfing beach, with fairly large waves and strong currents. We are confident swimmers and went in for dips every day, but did not swim out far as the currents were very powerful. If you're hoping for calm and peaceful seas, you may need to look elsewhere. Now on to the hotel. We loved the traditional architecture and the beautiful gardens on the property -- you really cannot get this kind of charm and character at any of the international chains. The hotel owner's art and artefact collection is truly incredible, and we enjoyed exploring every nook and cranny of the grounds to gawk at his one-of-a-kind pieces. This is an all-suite hotel so both of our rooms were very generously sized, one with a balcony and the other with a little patio with a swing and plunge pool. One minor niggle though: the AC in one of our rooms did not work very well and struggled to cool the room. Our stay came with complimentary afternoon tea each day, which was quite elaborate and enjoyable. Breakfast is also quite the affair, as the staff will bring it to you anywhere on the property -- no crowded breakfast buffets here. The staff was always smiling and never failed to accommodate our requests. We must also give a special shoutout to the GM Jenny, who was so warm and personable throughout our visit. She was never too busy for us, and in fact, made it a point to stop and chat whenever she saw us around. Again, I know I sound like a broken record, but this kind of personalised service is just not seen at the international chains. Finally, I also need to write a short note about the Tugu's fabulous new Japanese restaurant Ji. Our family lived in Japan for over a decade and we are complete Japanese food snobs. We were quite skeptical about trying the restaurant, as we could not imagine that it would live up to expectations. Well, we were blown away. Our dinner at Ji was probably one of the best of our entire trip. Every dish was on point, from the tempura to the tenderloin steak. And the setting is just mind-blowing -- the restaurant is situated inside a 12th century Balinese temple. Huge kudos to whoever was involved in designing and developing the restaurant."

David’s Kitchen: "Wonderful restaurant!"

Review by: lil_t0 | Source: Trip Advisor
"My mom and I recently travelled to Chiangmai and had a wonderful meal at David's Kitchen! Everything was delicious but the pumpkin soup was amazing and a must try!! The owners and staff could not have been nicer. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Chiangmai. Also a wonderful addition to our experience which made getting to the restaurant so easy was a pickup service (at an additional cost) to and from our hotel. Made getting to the restaurant so easy!"
