Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "What a wonderful cooking (and eating) experience"

"I visited Thahara Inle Heritage to take part in a culinary class with my group of seven; we were joined by another couple who also took part in the class. The head chef/director introduced himself and described the mission of Thahara Inle Heritage and the culinary school. We were provided a cup of herbal tea as well as an apron and a booklet containing the menu we were going to prepare along with the recipes for each item on the menu. We went through the gardens to select vegetables, and returned to the main classroom to start cooking. Each person was assigned one of the culinary students to assist with the cooking. I enjoyed learning about the goals of the students and how long they had been at the school. When I visited, there was 43 culinary students. I learned that the typical term is nine months for the students. I also loved sampling one of the ginger cookies that had been prepared by students. At each station we had two burners, as well as several ingredients which included turmeric, ginger & garlic, fresh crushed tomatoes, rice flower, fish and chicken. We started with a fish and eggplant soup by adding the fish to boiling water, then julienned the eggplant and added that to the water. After adding spices, we mashed the Gish and eggplant and returned them to the water. For each course, we followed the directions of the head chef (with the assistance of student chefs) to create a string bean salad, chicken curry and crispy tempura vegetable balls. We were then seated for dining and served our own dishes. Everyone enjoyed the food and the great experience. We were each given the menu and recipes as well as an apron. Such a great experience that supports Thahara Inle Heritage and provides participants with lasting memories. Stayed March 2016, traveled solo"

Inle Princess Resort: "Nice place to relax"

" It was a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. We left Yangon (it was boiling hot at 39 C), travelled on the very efficient KBZ Air, a rugged car journey through townships and finally a 30 minutes speedboat ride to get here. We felt relaxed the minute we got off the little speed boat. The place was surprisingly ""cool"" in early April because of the altitude and the heat in the afternoon was quite acceptable. There is nothing to do here but to relax. Leave your work behind, bring a good book and sun tan lotion (and mosquito spray) and enjoy. Unfortunately the wifi works so you are still connected to the outside world."

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "like paradise"

One of the most beautiful places on this planet. no cars, no streets ... no stress . Great for yoga. The Resort is not easy to reach but it`s worth the effort. The food at the clubhouse is delicious. I am coming for the fourth time now.

Reverie Siam: "Amazing Resort"

"Second time here and we got a free upgrade to mountain view room!! Thanks Nink @ Guest relations. The resort is beautiful, lovely rooms with unique items such as type writers and books to make its French colonial style very realistic. The marble floors and luxurious bathrooms Are perfect. The toiletries are all local and sourced from natural ingredients which is great and smell delicious!! Refilled daily. The rooms have big tv's and DVD players and you can borrow (free) DVDs from front desk. The wifi throughout the hotel is excellent, consistent and I mean everywhere, perfect!! The staff are very friendly, attentive and welcoming. The free shuttle cart to the city centre is very helpful and they pick you up too!! The pools are lovely, clean and a very good temperature. We love the hotel and will certainly be back for a third time...!"

Tugu Bali: "Great experience to stay in Tugu"

"A very beautiful place with great food and service. You can enjoy the breakfast and free afternoon tea every where you want, like in the garden or on the beach at tugu hotel. The staff there are all very professional. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"

The Hue House: "Dinner"

Probably the best meal so far in Saigon this beautiful Vietnamaurrant sits on top of mastr building .Quite difficult to find but well worth the effort.Xcellnt food and staff very friendly price rang very reasonable

Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises by Secret Retreats: "Excellent overnight cruise"

I agree with all the other reviews that rate this highly. Annie was our guide too (on Bassac III, the biggest of their 3 boats, sleeping a maximum of 24). Annie was a lovely guide with extremely good English. Even though she was a last minute substitute for another guide who had been taken ill, and she had been working herself and was expecting to go and visit her mother, she was gracious, enthusiastic and helpful. I didn't get up to see the sunrise but I loved the visit to the floating market and the peacefulness and beauty of the smaller canal we went along.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Floating holiday"

Very enjoyable weekend on kayaks, in waterfalls, jumping into the river. The staff was very helpful, and we enjoyed the meals. After the busyness of Phnom Penh, 4 Rivers was a perfect escape. Glamping turned out to be a lot of fun, and I recommend 4 Rivers.

Sukoon Houseboat: "Best Houseboat Experience"

The place is extremely peaceful Lives upto the name sukoon = peace The food is exceptional and staff is very helpful. The service is better than five star hotels. The upper deck is great for experiencing the calm Dal lake. This is my second stay here... And totally recommend it.

Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "residing in a museum"

Perfect place to stay for a few nights, very central to the downtown heritage streets and close to the beach front as well. Service is very attentive and the rooms have all the comfort you need on top of the stylish ambiance and grandeur of a historical mansion.
