Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A space for nature"

Review by: Bembix | Source: Trip Advisor
"Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge manages to knit together the very best in comfort, service and food, whilst making space for nature. A difficult feat to achieve, but one that I and my mother very much appreciated. There is no forced planting of exotic, introduced flowers and tightly strimmed grass, which seems to have become the standard everywhere around the world in boutique hotels and lodges. Instead, the focus is on allowing the smaller but essential things in life to flourish, such as butterflies and solitary bees, without the average guest even knowing these wonderful insects are there. Marcus and his team recognise the importance and value of these pollinators (we would have no coffee or chocolate if it was not for insects pollinating the flowers of these plant species!) and have cleverly crafted and created an environment that allows space for all. This is an ideal place for birding, but even better if you are interested in Lepidoptera. The team's knowledge and enthusiasm is nothing short of incredible, and I am truly in awe that so much time and effort is invested in compiling inventories of what they have found there. It is clear that this is not just a passing interest, or an attempt at green-wash to enhance visitor numbers, but a genuine desire to accurately record the diversity of the lodge. Many congratulations to you all. You have achieved the trickiest of things by providing first class accommodation, food and service without compromising the location. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"

Satri House: "Warm and welcoming staff"

Review by: days282 | Source: Trip Advisor
Initially a little complicated to understand the various buildings in this lovely garden, but everything was so conveniently located in this beautiful property and lovely garden. It felt very much like a large family house and the staff were gentle, welcoming and very very accommodating. We were lulled into the Loatian mellow style in comfort and beauty.

Villa Mathis: "Très bel établissement"

Review by: malko2269 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Accueil chaleureux, jardin splendide très élaboré... Avons testé 3 chambres... Toutes mieux décorées les unes que les autres.. Étape obligée à l'arrivée ou au départ de Bali. Nouveau manager sympathique et efficace. Bonne continuation à tous "

The Island Lodge: "A SMALL PARADIS"

Review by: directionHGV, | Source: Trip Advisor
It was the end of our trip and we did not have much time. Nevertheless, we wanted to see the Mekong Delta. After some Internet research, I wanted to come to this lodge. In addition, it was not too far from HCMC. They sent a car. When you arrive, you wonder where you are. And you discover the lodge: an incredible location along the Mekong (private jetty), an incredible design with beautiful objects everywhere. gorgeous room with a view ... wonderful, warm pool. Attentive staff. Kitchen (in Vietnamese or French choice) delicious. We did a fantastic treatment at Spa. There are lots of activities on offer. We opted for the tour of the island next to bicycle and boat. It was beautiful and enjoyable. Anyway, congratulations to Michel and Françoise have created this little corner of dreams where everything is perfect, for which we have only one regret: not to stay longer. Thank you all for having contributed to the excellence of our trip. Helene and Jean-Michel Verdon

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Truly worth the back breaking journey"

Review by: ranjanapte | Source: Trip Advisor
"We travelled from Pelling to Glenburn and the journey to put it mildly is HORRENDOUS. ""Roads""""do not exist and one can feel the bumps in every corner of your body. The last 45mins to an hour is equally bad but the place more than makes up for the travel hazard. Faye and Will (the outgoing Managers) take great care of your every need and the service is extremely personalized. One is not rushed into doing anything, whether it be food timings or day trips. Ranjan Chhetri the local manager is gracious and feeds you with anecdotes of the surroundings. We stayed at the Rose Suite which is well appointed and has ALL creature comforts besides truly living up to its name!!! We ere also lucky to meet up with the estate manager Mr Hussain. He regaled us with stories of the region where he has spent more than 26yrs. The common dining area is a good meeting point fro all the guests but one also has an option to dine in your room with silver service. A must visit again place. Excellent collection of books and magazines to read. No television in the room is a great boon. Kindly try and do something about the road to and from the property."

David’s Kitchen: "Our special night made even more memorable by DK"

Review by: Mark P | Source: Trip Advisor
"David and his team have created something very special in DK. Expectations are set very high when going to a ""fine dining"" restaurant, especially one with such a collection of positive reviews. I went with my partner for a special occasion and we both left DK thoroughly impressed. The food is outstanding, supported by a fantastic wine and cocktail list. The only issue we faced the whole evening was choosing what to order. I finally went for the Wagyu beef strip loin which was melt in the mouth, accompanied by the most gorgeous paris mash and truffle sauce - food heaven. What makes DK special is that David has managed to deliver the sophistication and refinement of fine dining, yet also makes it warm and engaging. The personalised service and attention to detail is everywhere, his service team is friendly and attentive, and David himself a real pleasure to chat to. For what you get, it is serious value for money and I shall definitely be returning when back in Chiang Mai."

Locavore: "A must-experience in Ubud"

Review by: 20Nothings | Source: Trip Advisor
My husband and I had a truly memorable dining experience at Locavore during our honeymoon to Bali just two weeks ago. Not only is the food incredible and service superb, but the local ingredients provide such an amazing introduction to the place, time and history of this part of the world. We enjoyed dinner at Locavore on our first night in town and it colored the entire trip. In fact, we loved it so much that we stopped in at The Rooster (their bar across the street) and Locavore To Go (their grab-and-go spot just a few doors down) over the next few days. Do not miss this spot on your trip. Worth every single penny.

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "<3"

Review by: tenithchan999 | Source: TRip Advisor
A few days before the trip, I happened to feel insecure about the trip. Because it was my first time to go such an adventurous place without my family members. As the day came, i still joined with my friends. My first impression about the hotel was the "Security" that they gave to me. I was actually over thinking about how dangerous it was to visit a place located in the middle of the river surrounded by the forest. But I felt relieved as they did everything they could to have my trust. My second impression was the interaction between the people and the environment. It was so refreshing and beautiful. That's how the nature is supposed to be like. My third impression would be the hotel, 4 Rivers Floating Lodge itself. It was incredibly amazing how the products that were placed in the hotel were actually could be decomposed and not going to effect the environment. The facilities that we needed in our daily life were placed in the hotel too even though it's on the river. I felt so safe and secure because they provided materials that could save us in some cases. The people were so nice and polite. The foods was great in every meals and the transportation was good too. I've learned something new there. I hope to visit that place again <3

Rachamankha: "You have to stay here……"

Review by: Jill H | Source: tripadvisor.com
"OUTSTANDING, with a fabulous wow factor as soon as you drive into the courtyard. This hotel is a little gem so really I don't want to big it up too much as I wish for it to stay just as it is and always have a room available for me to stay for when I want to pop over to stay for a long weekend...... Paul walker, the GM, leads a great team. The service, food, amenities ( Molton Brown ) rooms, public areas of the hotel are all GREAT. Its a perfect stay for a short break and I will most definitely be retuning"

Manukan Island Resort: "Paradise"

Review by: Jayne C | Source: Trip Advisor
We booked for one night as a last minute treat during our stay in Borneo. We were overwhelmed by what we got. We originally booked the cheapest double room, but when we arrived and was shown to our room, even though we were before the check in time, we were flabbergasted that we were given a beach villa over looking the private beach and sea. The room was luxurious, the staff were attentive and our over night stay was romantic. The only problem we encountered was the restaurant staff, who forget to bring us our drinks and the food wasn't that great. Over all a fabulous place for that romantic get away.
