Nam Bo Boutique Hotel: "Really special hotel experience"
We loved the terrific location on the waterfront, the great 1930’s design and feel, it is a very well run hotel, the staff could not have been nicer, they even gave me a present for my birthday. And the rooftop, L’Escale, with its stunning views and river breezes, served the most magnificent breakfasts and dinners- we could not fault them.David’s Kitchen: "Excellent Birthday Dinner in Chiang Mai"
"My girlfriend, Allie, and I went to David's kitchen to celebrate her birthday. We wanted to go somewhere very nice and make the night special and David's Kitchen was an obvious choice from all of the 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor. When we pulled up to the restaurant we were immediately greeted and escorted in. Every employee we passed on the way in wished Allie a happy birthday. When we sat down, there was a happy birthday card and a named place card for us. The service was absolutely amazing. I did not feel like the waiters were hovering in anyway but as soon as I needed something, someone was there to help. David himself made rounds around the restaurant and had private conversations with each of the guests. We thoroughly enjoyed speaking with him and hearing his stories and he even gave us recommendations for restaurants and activities in other countries that we were going to visit on our trip. We got the highly recommended pumpkin soup and it was out of this world! Really do try it if you go to David's! We both got the braised beefs cheeks and it was melt in your mouth tender. I think I would get something different if I went again but it was still a very good dish. Finally, for dessert we got a delicious chocolate lava cake and the employees came out to sing Allie Happy Birthday. It was a great night and was made very special by David and his staff. Absolutely worth the price. (Book reservations early because they go fast!)"The Island Lodge: "Great place for short vacations 2 hours from Saigon. We enjoyed it for a short stay"
This family owned boutique mini-resort is a well maintained, pleasant, smallish resort which is a good place for families or people who want to experience Mekong Delta or take a short vacation from Saigon. The food was very good, both the French menu and the Vietnamese menu, at the restaurant which has a lounge and bar area and is well integrated with the resort. The children enjoyed the pool, and its kid friendly in general. As a weekend resort destination, is most comparable to An Lam Saigon, and is more premium and much better food than the Ho Tram Beach Boutique Resort and Spa, and much better than the Ho Tram Sanctuary in all ways.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Do not miss out on this one"
"If you're planning your trip to SL then you MUST include 2 nights at Noel's Leopard Safari! Everything about the trip was fantastic! We had an ongoing joke during our safaris that the guides have called the animals in advance to tell them we were coming. Everytime we said ""It would be cool to see .... (insert animal here)"" they just miraculously appeared! It was quite mental actually. Leopard and jackal and sloth bear and monkeys and elephants and tons of birds and crocodiles and and and! The park is beautiful and the guides Say and Praneeth are so enthusiastic and they know everything about the wildlife and flora. It's really great to be with guides that clearly love what they are doing and have such great respect for our beautiful nature. The camp is luxury camping to say the least. We had the AC tent, hot water, plenty of plug points. They even have good internet connection at the lounge area. Pretty impressive for a camp in the middle of nowhere. Even the bugs were blissfully sparse when we were there. Heads up that this is seasonal off course. The experience was worth every penny!"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Beautiful & Relaxing"
My new Wife and I visited Neeleshwar Hermitage on one of the last legs of our honeymoon (November 2014). After a hectic few weeks our stay here was much needed! On arrival we were greeted by such friendly staff who throughout our stay were always very helpful and saw to our every need. I honestly can't fault the service. The whole resort is very beautiful and tranquil and the accommodation was amazing. We absolutely loved the bathroom! :D The restaurant was wonderful and so was the food! We really loved our time there and would certainly stay there again. To top it off they send me a birthday card every year. I received the latest one in the post today! Thank you to all at Neeleshwar Hermitage for making our stay and our honeymoon perfect. Chris & Lori.Rachamankha: "Paradise in Old City, Chiangmai"
A surprise paradise tucked on side street close to Temples and entrance to Sunday Market. Peaceful, elegant atmosphere. Top notch service - especially in restaurant. Dinner was terrific. Breakfast: loved the almond French toast!GLENBURN TEA ESTATE: "Attentive service and superlative luxury"
"We stayed at the end of a 3-week trip around India. What a stunning location high in the hills and quite unlike everywhere else we visited - so quiet, peaceful and unspoilt. We enjoyed the tea and the variety of foods we were served up. We loved relaxing and being pampered. Our room was larger than many London apartments and the bath was literally the biggest in the world. How they got it and all the other furniture down that bumpy road we will never know. We were served 'bed tea' in the morning and breakfast on the verandah with views over the hills and colourful birds swooping in and out of the trees nearby. One morning we took an early walk down the hill to the river, with two bird guides. A stunning walk through the tea bushes. We saw about 30 different species on that walk and were met at the bottom by a table at the water's edge, with our own personal breakfast service. Incredible! Exceptional!! The best part of the stay was the staff. One local young man Ranjan did the tea tour with us and invited us to a wedding at his friend's house. So we all trooped up the hill to a real Indian wedding with great local food and drinks, and a group of smiling people welcoming us strangers into their house. Remarkable. He and many of the other local staff spoke fluent English and were so humble and friendly, I wish I could employ them back in the UK. The resort is managed by a British couple Will and Faye, and currently another Will (I understand that this third team member changes regularly), who were attentive and took care of our every need without imposing on our holiday. They ate with the guests at dinner time and made the trip really special. The two Wills invited me to try fishing with them (unsuccessful but fun!). It's a rare treat to get to stay somewhere so beautiful, and so luxurious, and with such friendly hosts. Thanks to you all!! "Le Passe-Temps: "Back to human values"
"This place is just a little paradise in a busy life time. The hosts are sinceres, human, warm, smiling and dedicated. Their team is their mirror, they make you feel home without being intrusive. A large choice of activities and amenities are offered, you can enjoy the time passes on the beach with book and drink, or a trip in their private boat..... At night you can drink fantastic cocktails and meet your neighbours to share your life, book, movie, emotional experiences. In the ""Passe temps"" the best human behaviors can be rediscovered!"Supanniga Luxury Bangkok River Cruises: "One of our best highlights of our Bangkok trip"
I'm not usually a cruise fan but one of our Thai friends highly recommended this dinner cruise so we took her word for it and man it was beautiful! The only let down was that it raining and it went dark pretty quickly. Despite that we were very well sheltered from the rain on the cruise and could see the famous Wat Arun and The Grand Palace (just to name a few) as there were lights illuminating the buildings. You can expect the meals to be of fine dining level and authentic (it was as memorable as our fine dining at Issaya Siamese Club). Staff were attentive throughout and the crowd were decent. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Bangkok.Satri House: "Lovely boutique hotel, close to town but far enough away…"
Loved this little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Luang Prabang - but close enough to get to the night market and most everything else in 5+ minutes. Lots of lovely sitting areas, nice grounds, beautiful antiques and local flavor. We stayed here 4 nights and felt like we were the only ones here for the 1st 2 days... as more travelers arrived the tranquility stayed intact because of all the lovely spaces around the property. And even though it was quite cold in the mornings and evenings they provided space heaters in the restaurant, sitting areas, and an amazing fire in the main 'family' room of the hotel. The staff was wonderful and at every turn saw to our needs - including coffee in the room before the restaurant opened. LOVED that there were not TV's in the rooms - great way to keep the kids engaged in games and reading when we weren't exploring. The rooms are large and the beds exceptionally comfortable - the mosquito netting - which may be needed in the more humid/hot months was charming. And the food in the restaurant was delicious! Stay for an evening meal or 2 - you will not be sorry. And the breakfast - while not a buffet - was absolutely delicious! Eggs to order, amazing handmade jams and chutneys, delicious croissants and toast. If Asian breakfast is more your thing than they offer this as well. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Luang Prabang - from our ride around town this still seems the best place to stay with high marks on all fronts.
