Labyrinth: "Inventive Menu by Chef / Owner L G Han"
"If you are looking for a dining experience to really remember then the one Michelin Star, Labyrinth Restaurant is for you. We enjoyed the ten (10) course, very inventive, degustation menu with matching wines. This was not a 'cheap meal out' alternative but what an experience. The sensational flavours Chef Han has 'developed / created' and presents beautifully onto your plate are to die for and create much discussion if you are lucky enough to be sharing this experience (and I mean a 'real experience') with someone. Each course is described by the excellent staff, who are attentive, but not overly so, which is good for a dining experience. We were lucky enough to get to talk to Chef / Owner Han (apparently an Investment Banker ?? in a previous life), who is a very dedicated and focused Chef and ever so willing to talk about his passion for food, presentation, attention to detail and how and why he set out to create the 'truly innovative' fair he offers at Labyrinth. If you're in Singapore, love food and wine and like to challenge your taste buds with something very different, then Labyrinth will certainly meet your every expectation."Sea Dance Resort: "Sea Dance"
"Super customer service from the very moment I stepped upon Sea Dance. Greeted by very friendly staff everywhere I went, including all the staff at the restaurant and bar area. Stayed at a villa that was well thought out, with an outdoor toilet and shower room that provided full privacy. Exceptionally clean."Villa Song Saigon: "Relaxing base"
Good spot away from the bustle of city. Shuttle service via boat is a great service. Lovely setting for dining overlooking the river. Pool was relaxing and private. Room was on the small side but beds very comfortable.Sandat Glamping Tents: "A truly magical place"
"Ubud and its surroundings are full of Swanky five star hotels and retreats but if you want to experience something truly magical head to Sandat, you won't regret it! Set amid the rice fields this quixotic resort that defies definitions is truly stunning: you'll be able to choose among some luxury tents (more on this later) or three of the lumbungs, traditional Balinese rice barns that have been conceived as spacious apartments. We stayed in one of the tents, actually a lovely structure built with high tech materials that will just about separate you from the adjacent rice field and the forest in front of you. I always hated camping and this is nothing like that: you'll find yourself in a five star room with all amenities and comforts (wooden floors, stylish furniture, comfy bed), don't be put off if, like me, camping is not for you! Every tent has its own private plunge pool and sun chairs. At all time you are far away from indiscreet eyes and the staff will always announce their presence before coming anywhere near your place. Mind that this is also an eco resort and they made the conscious decision not to have aircon (yet the tent was very fresh) or television (but wifi and plenty of books and magazines are available). Longest review I've ever posted on tripadvisor, yet it's not over. (...)Enjoy the tropical garden and be amazed to find out that all the lush plants are just two years old. What else can I say? If you don't mind spending the extra dollar and you are looking for a true memory then Sandat is the ideal place for you!"The Island Lodge: "Boutique hotel on a river island."
"Stayed one night at the Lodge as part of a Mekong Delta tour. Dinner and breakfast included. It's a beautiful boutique hotel with nice pool and great view of Mekong River. The room is spacious, firm mattress with good bedding. Bathroom is large with separate toilet, shower and sink are together with organic bathroom amenities. Wifi is fast. Food is tasty and served by smiling staff. A few things could be improved or corrected: * Pool water was cloudy, may need more filter time. * Neighbor dogs were barking very loud in early morning. * The front door of the room, made of bamboo, has gaps letting noises in from hallway. * Mosquito net hung too high thus could not be tugged in to prevent mosquitoes coming inside the net."Arumdalu: "Isolated natural beauty"
I visited with my wife for a weekend getaway from Jakarta, and found this to be a wonderful tonic for hectic traffic and work stress. It is isolated, and the drive from the airport is about an hour and 15 minutes, which is something to consider. However, we were very happy to be met by the resort's driver, and William, who took us on a short visit to the town for local coffee and noodles, which were great! The resort itself is still relatively new, and the staff's knowledge of English was limited, but their attentiveness, service, and friendly demeanor made us feel truly welcome. The facilities are wonderful, with private (one bed) Villas with lovely open floor plan, private plunge pool surrounded by views of forest and natural sounds. The beach is white sand and you can literally be the only people on it, which is amazing for Indonesia, but there are lots of little jellyfish in the ocean, so be careful. The food was wonderful, and the chef quickly took in our pescetarian dietary preference and began to create delicious offerings for us with fresh seafood and veggies (some grown on the premises). It is pricey, but is a wonderful luxury getaway spot.Tugu Lombok: "Best friend wedding"
"Thank you so much to all the management and staff for a wonderful stay with the Tugu family. My best friends got maried on this lovely resort. I was blown away by the buty of this place. Every thing was just perfect. The rooms are just amazing with outdoor bathrooms. The beeches sublime. Snorkeling is great and all you need is provided. 2 pools are available for you to enjoy and I mean really enjoy. The art in the rooms and doted all over the complex are amazing. Every day I would discover something new. Once again A BIG thank you to all the staff at Tugu for making such an inportent day in my friends life a wonderful memory that I'm shor they will never forget. I know I won't. And of course thank you Chef your food was just perfect. "Maison Polanka: "Wow….Spectacular"
We stayed at the Maison Polanka with 2 families recently. The owner Kathy and her staff were outstanding. This place is basically 1 acre property with a 4 bedroom homestead on it as well as a 1 bedroom homestead. We were fortunate enough to have the run of the place for 4 nights which meant we had our own staff whenever we need them. Lovely place to stay, really enjoyed the tranquility of the property.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Fantastic – book ahead"
"Booked on what I read here and was not disappointed at all. Great options and flavours. Two of us - we had one of the tasting menus each so we could try many dishes. Lots of great things, each dish was well thought out and presented. Well worth a go. Wine list good and priced well. Highly recommended."Villa Song: "Tranquil and luxurious"
We ended our Vietnam visit at the Villa Song Hotel. It was the perfect ending to a fascinating holiday. Saigon is an exhilarating, bustling city with challenges at every corner: motorbikes in swarms which do not respect pedestrian crossings. How wonderful, therefore, to be able to whisk into the very heart of District 1 by speedboat and to return the same way and thereafter relax by the river, sip a sunset cocktail and be pampered by the hotel staff who are so anxious to please. We were impressed with every aspect of this elegant hotel, particularly the salt-water swimming pool which is large and inviting. A big breakfast is served from 6am until 10pm! Such a brilliant idea. The rooms (we stayed in the Arts suite) are tastefully appointed with a complimentary mini-bar, fruit every day and a surprise sweet delight in the early evening. A stunningly beautiful hotel with stunningly beautiful and attentive staff.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
