Heritage Suites Hotel: "Perfect location"
Wonderful small hotel, excellent service, nice pool and very good bedrooms.Picked up at the airport in classic Mercedes which is great. Very good tour operators in hotel for trips to Angkor temples etcTHE SAMAR: "Very different and lovely"
"We booked this hotel quite a while ago and having read some of the more recent reviews I had started to get a little worried. I meed not have worried! We stayed here for 3 nights with our children (14&12). We were the only guests in the hotel at the time. We had two rooms which were joined by a living room and two large bathrooms. Beautiful. The hotel arranged our airport transfer which I would recommend. The pool is lovely and although they had problems with the filter at the time we stayed they had this fixed. The area around the pool is beautiful. The breakfast choice is limited but don't let that put you off the food was wonderful. I recommend the noodle soup. We ate lunch by the pool one day and it was beautifully presented and very tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They organised a tuk tuk driver for us to take us to the temples. Chet was great, he would explain things to us and point places out on the way. He also took us to the silk factory one morning (well worth a visit). The girls were given a complimentary facial which they thoroughly enjoyed. I booked a full body scrub which was delightful. When we arrived back at our room each night the hotel had left us local cakes - this was such a sweet thought. The hotel is a little way out of the town but we enjoyed the peace that this gave and also the journeys in and out of the town - a great way to see a little more of the area. I would happily recommend this little gem to anyone. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"Supanniga Eating Room: "1 of the best Thai food"
"I have been living in Thailand for the past 12 years. And this place is really 1 of the best place to have traditional Thai food. The food portions are just nice. EVERYTHING is delicious! Do not hesitate to go try this place. No regrets! 1 thing though: it is not cheap. But in my opinion it is really worth a try! Thank me later."Sea Dance Resort: "More incredible than the pictures depict, Should be a 5 start resort!!"
This hotel was AMAZING! After staying in other "4 star" resorts on various islands and arriving to properties that did not come close to our expectations, we weren't expecting anything to write home about. Needless to say we were more than pleasantly surprised with the quality of this resort. The bathrooms are GORGEOUS, facilities are clean, and the pool was luxurious and beautiful. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, they even brought us complimentary boozy popsicles while we lounged by the pool! If you want to stay somewhere that is far enough from the town that you can experience a hidden oasis, yet easily access the town for dinner/shopping/etc. with a $4 taxi ride, then this is the perfect place for you.Sanak Retreat Bali: "No shopping, no need to go out to eat, just stay here and relax"
"We were so happy with our time here - five nights in such a remote location might not appeal to all, but we loved it. After a long drive from the airport (unfortunately on a holiday Sunday which extended the time), we were charmed by our greeting. Although we'd booked a one bedroom villa, we were delighted to be given a two bedroom with a choice of a king size bed both upstairs and downstairs - or we could pick and choose! We also had a choice of three balconies to sit on - to watch the sunrise or sunset if we wished. The rooms are very comfortable - deliberately not with every 5 star inclusion - but we found out that if we lacked something we could request it and it was willingly provided. All rooms are furnished with Balinese art and objects and most are available for purchase (good if you miss the shops!). The spa also has a great range of desirable objects for purchase. Talking of the spa, I managed to fit in 4 treatments and was lucky enough to find Wayan for my first and then book In with him again. He is a wonderful intuitive masseur and had a good insight into the treatment that was best for me and also gave me some practical advice. In fact, I enjoyed my treatments in Sanak so much (this included a facial on my last day), that I cancelled the massage I'd booked in Ubud and don't feel the need for any more at the moment. Maybe I'll change when we move to Seminyak later this week! We took two of the tours offered by Sanak - one was a trek with a local guide - around the nearby village and then down to the waterfall for a swim. If I'd realized this involved hundreds of steps down a steep path (my husband tells me I'm exaggerating), I probably wouldn't have done it! However, our guide, Arca, constantly helped me down stony steps and across streams patiently holding my hand tightly. It is a beautiful waterfall and refreshing, unfortunately there had been a lot of rain the previous night, so the climb was a bit slippery too, and also the rocks around the waterfall were still wet so there was nowhere to sit and difficult to change in and out of our costumes on such rocky ground. Arca carried towels and water for us, which was great. We also took a tour with Giusti - very knowledgeable and personable - we chose to visit the hot springs ((public baths), the Buddhist temple and then Lovina beach. We bought delicious fish & chips from the Buda Bakery at Lovina and sat with Giusti on the black sand to watch the sunset and the full moon come out. The food at Sanak was excellent and well priced, and we didn't mind at all that we couldn't visit a different restaurant every night. There are a few dishes you need to order 24 hours in advance and we can particularly recommend them - the Balinese duck and another chicken dish - they were both excellent. Breakfast is generous although the service could be a little more leisurely in such a tranquil setting. Sebastian, ably helped by Neni, heads up a great team and all the staff are charming and extremely helpful including purchasing some local goods on our behalf. Our farewell was as warm as our welcome and we do hope to return there one day."Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Exceptional"
Like all the other reviews I can only agree that Sea Dance is very special. From the moment of arrival to the sad departure 7 days later we were so well looked after. Poy,Faith and the team went out of their way to help. Never intrusive but always there if needed with recommendations and support. We left feeling we had made good friends. So, the accommodation was great, we had villa 30 and it was very private. A short walk to the excellent restaurant where the service is exceptional and the food delicious. The setting by the sea is magical and the swimming pool is beautiful. Facilities in the villa have everything covered from comfy bed to lovely toiletries.Tugu Malang: "One night of beautiful comfort"
This hotel was comfortable in every aspect and staying beautiful while doing it. The service was nice but the main aspect I experienced was the truly magnificent architecture and decoration this hotel have. Keep it up 👍Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "impressive, upcoming"
Food is earnest with subtle fancies. Tight limited menu but impressive offerings with fusion cuisine at best. This establishment wins over many established restaurants.THE ISLAND LODGE: "The most caring hosts"
"The island lodge is a very special place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like welcomed guests. We did the bike/boat tour with Michael through the banana plantations and seeing the locals going about their daily life, not another tourist to be seen. Every body is very friendly. And the whole lodge is beautiful. We will definitely return to the island lodge if visiting Vietnam. "Muang La Lodge: "An outstanding experience"
"One of the best management we ever experienced, the food sublime, probably the best we had in Laos! From our arrival to our leave we have been taken extra care by these two young managers! They were also able to hand down their passion to the local staff, an impressive task considering the circumstances of the location. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in Laos, especially if you love food and thermal waters! Thank you very much for the amazing time and for the color pencils for our little daughter we found on the mini bus when we left!"
