Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A Lodge with a View and so much more"

"This was my second time at TMPL, and for me TMPL is first of all about this magnificent view. The place itself is so beautifully built, that no matter which way you turn, you are always able to enjoy the spectecular view on the Anapurna mountain range and at the same time feel included in nature without being intrusive. A result of the environmentally conscious approach by its owner Marcus Cotton. The rooms are inviting - spacious, comfortable and in decor beyond any short lived fashion, which can at times be overwhelming. So I felt instantly at home. And the food was just delicious, home made from their own organic garden. It was a treat to chose whatever you wanted, because the guest's well being had priority. The staff is very well trained, attentive, efficent in a gentle way, making you feel very welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed Marcus' warm and generous hospitality sprinkled with a lovely sense of british humour. It was a truly wonderful stay for me and I will be back for more as soon as I can. Villa Song Saigon: "Villa Song, an oasis of calm in Saigon"

Beautiful hotel, luxurious rooms and facilities. All the staff are so friendly and take care to ensure your stay is perfect. To sit by the river for breakfast is magical; didn't want to leave. Everything they do, they do so, so well. Although a short stay, so memorable, wish I was still there Location rated as excellent, a bonus not to be right in the city centre. The hotel speed boat service to the city centre is fantastic. Taxis cheap and plentiful if it's not available.

Manda De Laos: "Excellent local cuisine"

Manda de Laos is happily tucked away from the hullabaloo of the tourist quarter and offers wonderful Laotian cuisine, in a great setting with one of the nicest lily ponds in LP. Food, service and ambience first class - it was quiet early in the evening, but very busy later on - we revisited the next day to see the lilypond in daylight and capture a little more of the ambience. Highly recommended.

Villa Song Saigon: "Sunday Song"

How lovely! Sometimes on holiday you just need to check in, hang out at the giant pool, order great food and drinks, sleep in and reflect. This weekend was one of those. Thank you you villa song you made it all worthwhile.

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Truly worth the back breaking journey"

"We travelled from Pelling to Glenburn and the journey to put it mildly is HORRENDOUS. ""Roads""""do not exist and one can feel the bumps in every corner of your body. The last 45mins to an hour is equally bad but the place more than makes up for the travel hazard. Faye and Will (the outgoing Managers) take great care of your every need and the service is extremely personalized. One is not rushed into doing anything, whether it be food timings or day trips. Ranjan Chhetri the local manager is gracious and feeds you with anecdotes of the surroundings.We stayed at the Rose Suite which is well appointed and has ALL creature comforts besides truly living up to its name!!! We ere also lucky to meet up with the estate manager Mr Hussain. He regaled us with stories of the region where he has spent more than 26yrs. The common dining area is a good meeting point fro all the guests but one also has an option to dine in your room with silver service. A must visit again place. Excellent collection of books and magazines to read. No television in the room is a great boon. Kindly try and do something about the road to and from the property."

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Relaxing"

"This hotel is excellent, I will certainly return. From the pick up at the airport, tea on route and the well appointed rooms I really can't fault it, the views from anywhere in the hotel are breathtaking, the food, although limited in choice is excellent, if you like walking and enjoy peace and quite this would be a great choice, additionaly the tea plantation and working factory are a great visit. Room Tip: A room with walk in shower is a good choice"

Les Maisons d’Itac: "Home away from home with a beautiful view"

"Had an amazing time with my friends. The property is really beautiful, safe, clean and quiet with gorgeous views of the blue water. The staff is helpful and very friendly esp Bryan. Bryan was very prompt with his replies over email and arranged the taxi pick up, Kawasan fall tour and island hopping tour with no hassle. Food at the resort is delicious. One night we even made our cocktails as we were craving for margaritas. I even had a relaxing spa right next to beach with calming sound of the waves. Totally worth the money. I am sure we will be visiting again whenever we go back to cebu. Thanks Bryan for the helping us out. Stayed February 2017, traveled with friends"

Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Total relaxation (plenty to do if you want it?!) therapy for body and soul"

"From the moment I arrived, climbed out of the boat and waded ashore, I felt I had landed in some parallel universe. I was met, in the water!, by Massi (the general manager) who makes every effort to ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. The Baans are all different in size and style. I stayed in Tarntawan which is perfect for the solo traveller. The room has a comfortable bed with mosquito net, fridge/minibar and tea/coffee making facility. Housekeeping was very efficient and kept everything beautifully clean. The restaurant offers a great balance of casual yet elegant dining. Buffet style breakfast offers a good selection with a fabulous choice of beverages and green teas. There was generally plenty of choice for dinner - I am vegetarian and can honestly say I have never found it easier to eat well, with quality local dishes. I felt food and drinks - a great choice of juices, shakes and cocktails - were reasonably priced (wine is expensive but this is Thailand, not France!). The beaches are stunning, I walked the 10km stretch without seeing another person. The water is really warm and offers safe swimming. I snorkelled a few times but there's not a great deal to see. However, snorkelling trips are available to other islands. Yoga is available twice daily, I did the morning session. A big 'thank you' to Alex who I found to be a great teacher. This totally unspoilt island nurtures the wildlife which is fascinating - beautiful birds and butterflies, and monkeys doing their thing! I stayed for a little over 2 weeks and I loved every minute. My first week coincided with half term and there were a few small children ( it's a good destination for a young family). During the day I just never seemed to see them but they could be a bit much in the evening. You'd think that, with dinner being served until 9.00pm, the parents of infants would eat earlier and be more considerate to both the other guests and their own children! However, this was such a minor issue in the whole scheme of things. The massages are great, lovely at the end of the day. Everyday, I felt privileged just to be at Golden Buddha beach - it was all I could have wished for. A huge thank you to Massi and a great staff team. I can't recommend it highly enough. Tugu Lombok: "Lovely paradise"

Went here one weekend for lunch and to stroll around the place. The moment walked in I fell in love with the beauty and serenity of this place. Food was also good and well cooked. Everything about this hotel is lovely. Perfect for a quiet get away.

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Total relaxation"

Neeleshwar Hermitage is pretty much my favourite place in the world for total relaxation. Cottages on a long beach, sand between your toes at meal times, yoga, Ayurvedic treatments, the sound of ocean waves in the background and wonderful people who unobtrusively look after everything. Every need is met but with none of the trappings of the typical ‘luxury’ hotel. If you want evening entertainment, music, exotic imported foodstuffs, or the bright lights this is not the place for you. And please don’t expect it to change. The owners are committed both to sustainability and to this unique model of total luxury with a difference. If you like like peace and quiet and privacy come. As a couple of retired academics, for us it is very expensive, but worth every rupee.
