The Village House: "A diamond in the middle of nowhere"
We stayed here to enjoy a relaxed couple of days after a demanding tour theough malaysia and Borneo and though we have stayed at some of the fanciest and most luxurios hotels in the world we have to admit that the village house is one of the best accomodations we have stayed at. Sure it isn't a five star hotel with such amenities as flat screen tv's, tennis courts, jacuzzis and sorts but it makes up for it by being charming, romantic and being well taken care of. The house itself is as beautiful as it gets and gives you a 'home' feeling right from the start. You are welcomed by the manager herself and she takes care of your every need. If there is anything just let her know and she will find a way to wirl it out for you. Sort of like a good spirit. The girls are really nice as well and take good care of the facilities. The rooms are very well maintained and will be cleaned up twice daily. The food is (compared to malaysian standards) a bit pricey (but compared to western standards still ok) but soooo worth it! We can barely remember having had better asian food than the local Bidayuh cuisine. True, there isn't much you can do or explore around the village house but if you plan on a relaxing couple of days by the pool, maybe read a book then this is the place to go. My husband still claims its 'the best hotel/b&b i've ever stayed at'. We simply loved it!!Amata Lanna: "Perfect"
We stayed here 3 nights in January & it was lovely in every way. The staff were so helpful, the rooms lovely and the bed very comfy. It's close to the road and there is some noise from that in the morning, but it's otherwise very peaceful. Breakfast was good. No complaints, except the endless rain, but I can remember blame the hotel for the weather.Hotel Tugu Lombok: "Heavenly"
My husband and I recently spent three nights at Tugu Lombok, and we are already planning our next trip back - this time for at least a week! Although we were only there for a couple of days, the time that we spent there was incredibly restorative. The hotel's location, on the peninsula and away from other hotels, makes it truly feel like you've escaped from real life. The staff heightens this experience, by catering to your every need with a smile and impeccable service. When we asked the front desk where we might be able to purchase some aloe nearby, they responded that they would deliver some freshly crushed aloe to our room shortly. Lo and behold, fresh aloe arrived and it did wonders for our sunburnt skin. The food was delicious. We particularly appreciated that, in addition to their standard menu, they offered a supplementary menu that changed daily. The day of our departure was quite windy, and the staff helped us coordinate potential alternate ferry options for our trip back to Bali. Our driver also stayed with us at the port until our ferry departed, to ensure that we got on board safely. The staff truly goes the extra mile. We cannot wait for our next visit to Tugu Lombok!Tugu Lombok: "Menginap Sambil Menikmati Panorama Pantai"

"What else can I say that others haven't already said? WOW Borneo does an amazing job making sure your visit to Tanjung Puting will be one of your most memorable experiences ever. From the amazing, spacious Klotok boat, to the tasty and abundant food, to the little things like passing out a cool wash cloth when you return from shore, these guys are really and truly committed to their work. One really nice example: at the start of the trip we changed our plans to spend more nights on the boat rather than stay for a night at Rimba Lodge. Our friends at WOW handled the change gracefully and promptly wired back the funds I had pre-paid for the hotel. My only wish, and it's small, was to get more local historical and cultural insight (in English) from our guide, Pretty - who to be fair is relatively new on the job. Despite this I always knew our needs would be foreseen and met, and I know my companions came away from our rainforest encounter with a profound send of new awareness and inspiration."SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Full of Love"
"As their website states the husband and wife team that owns and operates this restaurant are full of love of everything and it shows in the food that they serve, the ambiance and comfort of the restaurant and the many good causes they support. When I emailed the restaurant to book a reservation here is the response that I received: ""Thank you so much for your reservation. We will set up a nice table for you on terrace. Thank you so much. With best regards, Lin Lin"". Right from the start I had no doubt that I had picked a great place to dine in Yangon. Felix is a Michelin Starred Chef who has worked in many restaurants in Europe and his wife and partner Lucia is a wonderful hostess and manager for the restaurant. Lucia came by our table several times during our dinner to visit with us and we had several amazing conversations with her about their history as husband and wife in the restaurant industry. We learned from Lucia that she and Felix decided that they wanted more than what Europe had to offer and traveled to Malaysia to open a restaurant there and then continued on to Myanmar where they found their dream location. The food that they serve at Seeds is absolutely outstanding, made from very fresh local ingredients and the servings are generous. Between each course we were provided with small snacks that were also amazing. At the end of our dinner we were inundated with incredible desserts even after saying that we could not eat any more food. We took what we could not eat back to our hotel and we had a wonderful treat for the next day. During our conversations with Lucia she explained how much they love supporting the local farmers, the local meat producers, the local people and also the community of Myanmar as a whole. After leaving Yangon my wife and I have talked about Seeds a lot, how wonderful the food was and how wonderful and giving Felix and Lucia are. We hope that everyone who visits Myanmar will include dining at Seeds during their visit for the great food that they serve, the great causes that they support and their love of everything that they do."Reverie Siam: "Paradise in a small town"
"RS was an amazing hotel in a very busy small town. It was truly wonderful to escape back to after a tiring day in the heat and humidity of Pai. The staff here are so welcoming and very accommodating. They greet you so warmly all the time. The shuttle tuk tuk was also very handy as it is almost impossible to find taxis when walking the streets of Pai. The breakfast menu was very impressive. Everything cooked to order. Try the Pai scramble. We took the family room which had the largest bathroom I have seen for such a size hotel. Beds were very comfortable and all the locals amenities provided in the bathroom are very nice touches. The soaps were great - lemongrass and coconut, all locally sourced and natural"The Samar: " Something else"
" Siem Reap itself is something else. You can feel certain peace and tranquility immidiately after you land there. When you check in to hotel Samar Villa & Spa, this feeling of serenity and relaxation comes to it's full power. It is situated just a bit outside of the city centre limits, which is actually great. Tuk tuk is affordable so a 4,5 minute ride to the Siem Reap centre is really not a problem. On a contrary, nice way to cool down after a hot day in Angkor temples, before you step into the Samar swimming pool. Check in procedure is really smooth and relaxing, with nice welcome drinks and towels provided for all. Hotel is not big, so even if they are full, you are almost all the time alone and you feel like you have it all just for yourself. Staff are very nice and provide help but privacy in the same time, which we appreciated highly. Rooms are so nice, in french colonial style, maintained well, decorated with style. Breakfasts were so delicious, there is no buffet, but you can order your daily choice and they will prepare it for you. Very tasty. Some of the comments before were negative (eg maintainance, insect spraying,...). We found them not to be true, and as far as insects are concerned, of course they have to spray, but as the end result you can have nice relaxing evenings without bugs and mosquitos. They do it during the day, when all/most guests are out, exploring temples.... All in all, i really hope me and my family will come back to Cambodia and Siem Reap soon. Then we will stay in Samar again for sure! It is for every recommendation."Locavore: "world class dining in Ubud, Bali"
This is an extraordinary French fusion cuisine restaurant. Everything is first class: food sourcing, preparation, presentation, taste.Inle Princess Resort: "Simply wonderful"
We loved every single moment of the 4 days we spent in this resort. The place is so beautiful and peaceful that you have impression of living in another planet. Great rooms (lake houses are top), super service, excellent food - all is perfect. The architecture of the place is amazing and the decoration has been done with great taste.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
