Rachamankha: "Excellent boutique hotel with great service"
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in November at this wonderful hotel and felt totally at home throughout. The ambiance of the hotel was perfect, very peaceful and serene. The whole layout of the building was beautiful with lovely antique Asian furniture, a nice outdoor swimming pool and a cosy library. The library was well stacked with books and also had the benefit of having 2 PC's where we were able to plan our trips and look up local restaurants, even printing out the information we needed on the spot. The bedroom was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom and free WiFi was available throughout the building. The hotel was perfectly located, a very close walk from the Old Town. It also had the added benefit (from our perspectives) of being a non-smoking establishment throughout. The service was first class from all the staff and the breakfasts were delicious. The hotel manager Paul Walker was especially helpful and proactive, giving us many useful tips both for our stay in Chiang Mai and also Bangkok. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Chiang Mai as it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your stay. We will definitely book there again the next time we visit.
Idyllic traditional Cambodian house nestled in a stunning garden in the backstreets of Siem Reap. Staff were charming and efficient and always ready with cold face towels after sweaty trips to the temples. Absolute peaceful place with no TV or ambient music, just the chirping of cicadasLocavore: "Impressive servings"
Going to Locavore is like being at one of your favorite high-end restaurants. They offer food served in ways that you don't consider yourself. They played with ingredients and served it in their lovely place in Ubud. I was surprised by the match between the cocktails and food + the surprise snacks that were served. We recommend going all-in if you visit this place.
A small but fantastic resort!"
We spent a long weekend in the bamboo house at this small but beautiful resort. Great experience. You are sleeping 3 meters from the beach! You hear the waves and all kinds of sounds in the night, very relaxing. The atmosphere at the place is great. It is sort of at the end of the road, so there is no restaurants or things to do within walking distance. But the staff and the manager Bryan are very serviceminded and will help you with anything you want to do or go to. We recommend you to eat all meals at the resort and then there's no need to go anywhere else. Just stay at the resort and enjoy it. We would love to come back some day!Tugu Malang: "Awesome boutique hotel experience!"
It's almost like enough cannot be said about this place! It's one of those perfectly restored properties that exudes the charm of a distant past while maintaining luxurious travel experiences that match up to the best in the industry. Awesomely comfortable rooms beautifully decorated with colonial era antiques, amazing old-fashioned service, great food, stunning ambiance, and a great location to boot. Worth the price.Villa Song Saigon: "Beautiful"
This is a beautiful hotel! It is off the beaten path in a more residential area (large expat community) and we couldn't have loved that more. Being on the water was great, especially in a city that can be very congested. The area has lots of great restaurants. (If you want a nice dinner out, we had a great time at La Villa. For something more casual, the Mad House was great.) The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. (The first floor is somewhat of a garden level, perfect if you don't want to take any stairs, but the ceilings in our room there were low. We asked and were very promptly and graciously moved to a room on a higher level, which required taking a couple flights of stairs but was much more spacious. It really depends on what you are looking for, but if stairs aren't an issue, I would highly recommend requesting a room not on the first floor.) Breakfast is superb and the front desk is always eager to help. (They made reservations for us, called many taxis that all showed up very quickly, and even made arrangements for us to have an extra early breakfast the morning of our departure.) As others have mentioned there are stairs and no lift, so I would request a certain floor if you have a preference. Finally, they charge a lot for to pre-book transportation to and from the airport. Since the prices were so steep, we chose not to use it. Instead, we booked a pick up with another company. From the airport, it might be worth it to have them pick you up; it's very busy and chaotic. Returning to the airport, however, I would just get a cab. We just had them call a cab (they always call only certain brands of taxi) and it was $15 to go back to the airport.Satri House: "Best Place to Stay in Luang Prabang."
The Satri House was the place to stay even though it was much more expensive than other comparable hotels. The place was more a house than a hotel. In a way it went well with the town of Luang Prabang since two of them set the mood back by decades in time. Our group of four drove there in our SUV and spent two nights in Luang Prabang before heading back to Bangkok via Vang Vieng and Viengthein. Therefore our highlight of the whole trip was in Luang Prabang. The highlight of our activities was the offering food to Buddhist monks.Slow Villas and Spa: "Perfect place to relax"
The Iland is magic and Slow Villas gives you the confort you need to relax. Great people working always ready to help and share experiences with you. The beach is 5 minutes walking, offering with some very good restaurants and the perfect sunset.
