Babe: "Excellent Food, wonderful Dining Experience"
At our 3 day stopver in KL we had on our last night diner at chef Jeff Ramsey's Babe restaurant and we're sorry not to have gone one night earlier, because we would have come again a 2nd time. The food was just excellent, and the overall dining experience outstanding. We had the 12 course Japas (Japanese Tapas) Tasting Menu for 450 Ringit (they also offer a simpler one for 350 and a premium version for 750 Ringit), and all 12 dishes had been at least very good, some of them absolutely outstanding: the Caramelized Monfish Liver was an explosion of different flavours and had a smooth but still crunchy texture. The Wagy Nigiri was remarkable in quality of meat as well as preparation. A dish named World's Juiciest Lamb Chop lived up to it's label. On top of the excellent food the service was absolutely friendly and competent, which enhanced the overall dining experience. The selection of wine served by the glass was limited, but both the 2 whites (a NZ Sauvignong and a Chilean Gewuerztraminer) and the 2 reds (a Californian Merlot and a Bordeaux) we had were very good. Lastly, the location is fantastic: the restaurant offers a panorama view of the KL skyline, best appreciated from one of the outside tables, recommend strongly to ask for pooldeck (i.e. outside) seating when offered the choice at the reservation. We definitely will go again if we come to KL.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Et si c’était le paradis"
Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"Tugu Malang: "Tugu or not Tugu? Gu! And quickly!"
"If we had to give an example of what a dream hotel would be, well... the Tugu Malang would come in handy! The crazy dreams of an art lover reside in this hotel where you feel at home very quickly. The decoration is just unbelievable, and would deserve a special edition of any decoration magazine. The deluxe room we had was very nice. The staff is very friendly and efficient, even if you are not staying in a suite. The cycling tour with John is perfect! The complimentary tea + + is fab! The swimming pool is great! The guided tour is very interesting. Go! You won't be disappointed!"Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Traditional house in bustling Seoul"
"Stayed for a night in the separate house (which has 2 bathrooms) with 3 other friends. The house was well maintained and clean!Hosts were responsive and helpful. You could borrow the hanboks from the host to try on and take Instagram-worthy pictures with the traditional setting. As if you just hopped on the time machine! What we love most was the breakfast! It's ""SEOUL YUMMY!"" (So yummy, pun intended). Just by looking at the picture is enough to salivate!' It's so good that we felt all other meals we had during our trip were just so plain and average! Words can't express how good it was. You have to try it to know it! :) The location of the house is not so straightforward. It would be good if you have wifi-egg to navigate and locate using your phone! Otherwise I would advise you to get detailed directions from the host before the trip. "Manda De Laos: "Mesmerizing setting at night, great cuisine"
Manda de Laos sits on the sides of a beautiful pond, with lilies and fairy lights, that give a close to magical atmosphere to your dinner. Lovely (and delicious).Slow Villas and Spa: "Paradise within paradise!"
"My 2-night stay at Slow Villas has been EXCEPTIONAL. I was looking to unwind and relax in Gili Air and I couldn't think of a better place to do just that. First of all, I love that it's eco-friendly! From bio-septic tanks to reusable water bottles, they are clear advocates of our environment. The Villas itself is very well-maintained. They provide just the right amount of of comfort and luxury. Every concept of the villas is centered around the guests comfort. The bed is huge and I love that it faces the pool-- perfect for lazy mornings. Our one-bedroom villa is HUGE, which even includes a garden. Although I'm not the type to sunbathe, it was nice to have it to ourselves. The pool is definitely amazing. It's not really a private villa without your private pool, is it. The service is great-- refillable water, fruits in your villa, breakfast at your own privacy, wifi, and a cable tv. They even add a little touch by providing a USB with movies just incase the cable is down. Simply amazing. Everything is top notch! Location wise, it's definitely on the isolated corner of the island, but it's perfect for couples like us who were were looking for pure tranquility. They truly lived up to their name. The instant I entered Slow, it was as if time froze and the rest of the world drifted away! Thank you Slow for a phenomenal experience!"Rachamankha: "Beautiful peaceful retreat in the old city"
Very elegant and quiet with lovely art work and antiques throughout. Excellent service and extensive breakfast. Very nice pool. Small and personal. Puts you in a great mood. They pick you up and take you to the airport as part of the service.Tugu Bali: "Relaxation Therapy"
"This was our third visit to Tugu and it never fails to impress. The serene Balinese architecture and stunning gardens make this one of our favourite hotels. This is somewhere that you stay and feel that you are the only people there. The staff are excellent, there when you need them, yet allowing you the space to truly relax. The hotel offers a fantastic range of massage treatments and healthy yoga sessions if wanted, or just relax by the pool. Canggu itself has transformed over the last 2 years, with a huge range of fantastic restaurants nearby, yet it still retains the laid back feel that is missing in other parts of Bali. The surf break is awesome too, which is an added bonus."Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Exceeded expectations"
"Brill stay. Staff, food, views. Staff did all they could to make it a pleasant stay. Tum (resort manager) even came to get us from the airport You do need transport to travel around but we just chilled on site. Private pool is a bonus and self cleaning. Food is priced reasonably. Although its a limited menu the food is tasty. Really recommend 1-1 cooking classes . Take pen paper and make sure cameras charged! Private dining on the beach was fab,Faith was flexible with the menu and made sure it was how we wanted Wednesday is optional social buffet with free coctail hour (you can go for coctails and not have buffet) ,and couple of other nights has goid live music Note that its a shingle beach and only one other hotel next door has access so always quiet. Free kayaking and paddleboarding for guests Make sure you put on deet spray as theres lots of mosquitos at night. Shower wasnt too powerful but sufficient. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Neeleshwar Hermitage: "One of the best boutique hotels I have stayed in"
"Beautiful accommodation set on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Amazing staff, two restaurants serving local fish. Also can recommend the Spa offering Ayurevic massage. Bungalows simply appointed but very comfortable. The open air garden in the en suite was a novel idea. Beautiful gardens with the passing mongoose going about their daily business. Infiniti pool was huge with plenty of sunbeds. This was my last stay on my Kerala tour. Trailfinders left the best til last!"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
