Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Must-visit restaurant in Siem Reap for affordable price"
First of all the location: this restaurant is in a dark and isolated village in Siem Reap, and it might be difficult even for taxis to reach it. Recommend keeping a map with you (or google maps) in order to find it more or less easily or help the taxi driver to do it. Went there right after Christmas and only had to wait a few minutes to get a seat (no booking, but it's better to have one). The restaurant has two floors, so you can dine downstairs indoor or at their al fresco terrace. They offer a tasting menu of 5 or 6 courses for 24 or 28 USD that changes every 10 days, the food is amazing! Their style is French-Cambodian, and the chef will come visit you at your table at the end of the meal to offer a plate of fresh fruit after the dessert. Must note that the restaurant is open only from Tuesday to Saturday, so it will be a pity to go there when it's closed (also because it's a reeeeeally dark street haha). Enjoy!Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "A pleasant returned stay"
I stayed in this hotel before and this time I am returning with bigger group of friends. The staff handled our reservations with full attention and all details have been taken care. We were extremely surprised as one of the rooms was upgraded for our better comfort.Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "The Rocks CNY"
This is our 3rd stay at the Sea Dance , which speaks volumes. The staff at Sea Dance are so welcoming the food is sensational ( must do Sunday brunch ) Truly a wonderful place to stay even better with the addition of a Spa We plan to go back very soonKHWAN BEACH RESORT: "Incredible location! Modern villas, great service"
"Just left a four day stay here and I must say that it was an incredible experience. You get what you pay for with money here, the villas are impeccable, spacious, well presented and team at Khwan were exceptionally accommodating! The location is beach facing, and if your villa is not beach facing then it's only a 20 second walk to a very peaceful, quiet bay! The town itself is full of activity, in particular the Thursday night market and also Romans restaurant ( both highlights) you can hire a moped for 200 thb around the corner and then you have easy access to the whole island! The staff at Kwhan made it all the more special however. They were so kind, and on the final day when I was struggling to manage the journey inland to the next destination they were super helpful in getting me there and making sure I was taken care of. I genuinely appreciated it! Overall, I would recommend staying here! Tiny bit more expansive than most but you do get a lot more for your buck x "The Tiger’s Eye: "Not to be missed!"
This is probably my favourite restaurant in Phnom Penh. The cocktails were sensational and each course was flawless. The staff knew the menu well and were super professional. This place is very much "on trend" and if you're in Phnom Penh, it's not to be missed. Yummmmmm!!Le Du Wine Bar & Restaurant: "Lovely service, imaginative food, and great attention to detail"
"I read an article about Le Du and was intrigued by its promise of elevating Thai style food. I have been in Thailand for several weeks and have enjoyed the food but not been blown away by anything that I have not tried before until tonight. We elected the 6 course tasting menu. This is really a bit more than expected because there is an amuse bouche and a fruit plate that is not listed. Server was Erica who was warm, attentive and knowledgeable. The dishes range from sea bass, river prawn, aged beef, pork jowls and a sustainable fish. Each was presented with a lovely Thai inspired sauce and accompaniment. While all the dishes were terrific in their own way, our favorites were the pork jowls an the sea bass. The lovely staff recognized my husband's celebration of his birthday with an extra dessert. So what would I say could be improved: the beef dish was the weakest in that while flavorful, it was a bit chewy. I did not observe the concerns voiced by other reviewers as a high noise level, or feeling of being rushed. We were dressed in a neat manner and felt welcome. We thought the bill was reasonable for this type of meal. Yes, there is a service charge but the charge is 10% which in our opinion is low for the amount of service and 50% of the expected tip in the US. I did find the reservation system challenging. I made a reservation for one evening, and then realized we would be open earlier in the week and tried to change the reservation. I sent an email, and initially, did not get a response. The hotel clerk called for me and changed the reservation, But I received no confirmation of change. This is partly my fault because the hotel gave the name on my passport which is slightly different ( nickname versus formal first name) that they did not recognize as the same person. We called again, confirmed and a few hours later I received a change of reservation with right day, wrong time. 2 more calls and 3 emails later, it was cleared and confirmed. So lesson learned; choose the time you want on the first try. Also, the location is a little tricky. It is in a a Soi or a little alley. So leave a little time to find it."Cuca: "Wonderful Experience"
We were a group of 7. We started with drinks out in the beautifully presented and very large garden then moved inside for dinner. We partook of the degustation menu and spent 3 hours marveling at the tastes of each dish. The kitchen is open to the view of all restaurant patrons. It was a wonderful experience. The Samar: "2nd stay and always so nice!!!!"
"I was back in Siem Reap in May and stayed again at The Samar with a group of friends. The staff remembered me and my habits... and this time they propose us to experience other activities such as a picnic on a platform on the Tonle Sap, some puppet show... lot of creativity and attention to details... it made us feel we were not just in a hotel, but staying with friends sharing their secrets with us to make us discover their area. Nicely done... and the hotel has not changed in a year. Excellent maintenance. and rates are very reasonable and maybe even lower than many for a better quality."Tugu Bali: "Amazing experience"
"From the moment we arrived we knew this was experience was going to be unique! the staff was more than fabulous and they truly made the difference here. The place has real magic around, our room had beautiful small details that we loved. We came to Bali to celebrate my birthday and they really made this experience wonderful. The food was delicious, the massage therapist were great, the tours and drivers were really nice and patient, the recommendations for places to visit and good restaurants as well. would definetly come back with my eyes closed. "NEELESHWAR HERMITAGE: "Heavenly Retreat!"
"Elegant, tasteful and spiritual haven. A wonderful end to an amazingly busy and eventful tour.We left feeling rejuvenated and fully refreshed having enjoyed the wonderfully comfortable and harmonious ambience. The attention to detail and care taken at every level contributes to the magic of this place. With only twelve cottages, we were given personal service and attention of the highest order. The breakfasts served at the beach cafe are beautifully presented and delicious. In the evening we enjoyed supper under the stars at the beach cafe too…eating freshly caught fish and sea food."
