Les Maisons d’Itac: "BEST PLACE EVER! Suite Télémac ❤️"
"It's been a long time since I've been in the Philippines and it was his first time to go for a proper visit (stopped over on the way to Australia back in '99). I wanted to make sure he sees how beautiful the islands are and make him experience local culture and the Filipinos signature hospitality without compromising some luxuries. Boy, oh boy, this place made an impression! Our first time in Cebu coming from an awesome 3 days in Boracay, we thought this place will have to work really hard to impress us. We arrived at the Cebu Mactan airport and was picked up by a friendly ""Kuya"" that we arranged with Sir Bryan. His car was clean and he let us do a bit of shopping at the nearby Savemore supermarket while he waited at the parking lot. I admired his patience. He told us it'll take around 3hours to get to the resort and I thought we were ok with it. I am not a very patient passenger, plus we just came from a tiring flight and barely had time to rest. I kept thinking that I made the wrong decision with booking this property because it was miles and miles (and miles) away from the airport. Eventually, we arrived at the resort late at around 8pm and it was already dark so I was like, ""okay, give it a chance in the morning"". We were lead to our private villa and I was pleasantly surprised at how perfect it was with our own pool, 3 rooms, a hut and a cabana! Sir Bryan called one of the girls to fix us a meal and it was delicious. I am not kidding, it was. We were the only guests because it was the town fiesta (festival honoring the feast day of their patron saint) and Sir Bryan was worried that guests might not be happy with the noises the parties might cause. I was warned about this beforehand but we were totally ok and were actually planning to join the party. In the morning, we woke up and our jaws dropped after realising how gorgeous the whole property was. Breakfast was unforgettable, especially the fresh mango smoothie/shake (so sweet and not even a grain of sugar was added in it!). On other days we had different fruit shakes and the staff made sure they were all fresh and perfect. The food, as I've mentioned, is simply perfect. Loads of activities around and we were luck enough to join the fluvial parade during the town feast and we had so much fun chasing and trying to get the passengers on the other boat as wet with sea water as we can. We ended up getting back after around an hour soaked, but incredibly happy. We had our first try with stand up paddle-boarding and it was great! People who like their own space and respect other people's will fall in love with this place. The marine sanctuary right in front of this property is a great indicator they care about the earth. It is one of the best holidays and resort I've been to. We left with a heavy heart and wished we could've stayed a bit longer. Will definitely try and visit again if we ever go back to the Philippines."Supanniga Home: "Nice stay in Khon Kaen"
We had the Velu Villa. It is a nice modern villa of 2 rooms. The garden of the Supanniga is very nice with a lot of squirrels (so nice) but too many mosquitoes (less nice)...the staff were friendly and breakfast good. We will go back there certainly.Rachamankha: "Loved it!"
Rachamankha has it all: it's in a prime location (near all the temples) but it's really peaceful and quiet. The pool is perfect, and the library is a really cool asset. Breakfast is highly recommended too. All in all, our stay was perfect!Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "A fantastic stay with great wildlife sightings and incredible food"
"We recently had a fantastic 4 night stay at Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris. Sam was our guide and he looked after us incredibly well and took us on some fantastic game drives where we saw leopards on 4 out of 7 drives and we also saw a sloth bear on the final drive! The park is also full of peacocks, spotted deer, crocodiles, elephants, water buffalo, wild boar and a superb array of birdlife plus lots of other interesting species. Sam was a passionate guide with incredible knowledge of all the animals and birds in the park and he was a safe and skilled driver. Our days started with an early wake up with a quick tea/coffee before setting off to Yala National Park to be ready when the gate opens at 6am to look for the wildlife while they are still active. The park is gate is around 20-30 mins drive from the camp. Morning drives last approx. 3 hours before returning for breakfast. Lunch was at around 1pm after which we left for the afternoon drive at around 2:30pm. The park closes at 6pm and we would have drinks before dinner at around 7pm. The food served at the camp was absolutely delicious, authentic Sri Lankan dishes with a fantastic variety each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spice levels are adjusted to your requested level (so don’t panic if you are not good with too much chilli!) and wine, beer & spirits are all included. We spent our first two nights in a mobile tent, with an insect proof sleeping area containing a double bed, bedside table with fan and light and power socket for charging batteries. In living area of the tent there were two camping chairs and table a cupboard and a light. Just outside the tent was a flushable toilet with a light and in a separate tent a shower which would be filled with hot water before our return from the afternoon drive. For our second two nights we were upgraded to one of the two luxury tents, which has air conditioning and an attached bathroom and it much larger. The plan for the camp is to eventually upgrade all of the tents to the luxury style and I am sure they will prove very popular, it was very comfortable. Thank you so much to General Manager Sajith for the upgrade! They are also in the process of building a swimming pool which will be a most welcome addition to the camp. We had a brilliant time at Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris and would definitely return. The great conversations with all of the staff during drinks and meals, the outstanding food, the service from the whole team and the exciting game drives made for a wonderful stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here."The Hue House: "Beautiful restaurant and wonderful food"
Highly recommend! This is one of the best restaurant in town that serves the best local food. The scenery is so beautiful with a nice garden and traditional decoration. The food was excellent. So fresh and delicious with authentic flavor. I would definitely come back.Tugu Malang: "Great stay"
"I stayed here recently for three nights over the weekend and really enjoyed my stay. The staff were wonderful and helpful especially Lina and M. and John. Even though the hotel purposely appears older, it's actually a much younger building but they do a good job scattering antiques and various Java artifacts around the hotel giving the grounds and public areas a venerable appearance. The bar is especially charming and interesting and even serves decent wine by the glass; not so easy to find in Java. Wifi worked well and afternoon tea was a nice touch. The location is quite close to the train station and also faces a scenic park where frequent cultural events take place. There are several restaurants nearby and the hotel restaurant is prob the best in the city. A nice coffee shop across the street called Java Dancer was also worth a visit. Stayed May 2016, travelled solo"Babe: "Excellent Food, wonderful Dining Experience"
At our 3 day stopver in KL we had on our last night diner at chef Jeff Ramsey's Babe restaurant and we're sorry not to have gone one night earlier, because we would have come again a 2nd time. The food was just excellent, and the overall dining experience outstanding. We had the 12 course Japas (Japanese Tapas) Tasting Menu for 450 Ringit (they also offer a simpler one for 350 and a premium version for 750 Ringit), and all 12 dishes had been at least very good, some of them absolutely outstanding: the Caramelized Monfish Liver was an explosion of different flavours and had a smooth but still crunchy texture. The Wagy Nigiri was remarkable in quality of meat as well as preparation. A dish named World's Juiciest Lamb Chop lived up to it's label. On top of the excellent food the service was absolutely friendly and competent, which enhanced the overall dining experience. The selection of wine served by the glass was limited, but both the 2 whites (a NZ Sauvignong and a Chilean Gewuerztraminer) and the 2 reds (a Californian Merlot and a Bordeaux) we had were very good. Lastly, the location is fantastic: the restaurant offers a panorama view of the KL skyline, best appreciated from one of the outside tables, recommend strongly to ask for pooldeck (i.e. outside) seating when offered the choice at the reservation. We definitely will go again if we come to KL.Villa Song Saigon: "Excellent Stay"
Beautiful property, very hospitable staff, outstanding views, thoughtful service, good facilities and food. And a great spa. Just what a hotel should be but very few achieve. Worth coming to Saigon if only to check in here. The manager is a guest's delight. Thank you.Rahai’i Pangun: "A once in a lifetime experience"
My husband and I took the 3D/2N trip In Tanjung Puting National Park. We found the whole experience to be absolutely incredible. The boat was well equipped and very comfortable, with a spacious deck area fitted with comfortable rattan sofas and chairs. Air conditioned cabins with en-suite facilities made the whole trip very civilised. We ate all meals on board for three days and I was very impressed with the variety of dishes on offer, the quality and the freshness of the ingredients. Freshly squeezed fruit juices were a delight. The food was a good balance of Indonesian and Western dishes (pancakes for breakfast!). Our guide Faisal was very knowledgeable and the entire crew went to great effort to spot wildlife on the banks as we cruised along and stopped the boat so we could get a proper chance to observe at close range. The orangutan feeding stations were busy, but not overly crowded, and the experience of seeing the orangutans swinging in through the trees for their food will stay with me for a very long time. Although this tour is at the higher end of the price range for Tanjung Puting trips I would thoroughly recommend it as great value for money and a wonderfully memorable experience. The personal touch that Gaye puts to make sure clients are happy with their tour shows just what a professionally run company this is.Sanak Retreat Bali: "INCREDIBLE!"
"We stayed at Sanak in early January of 2015. Unfortunately it's taken me this long to review them! After arriving on a particularly rainy afternoon, we were greeted by the lovely staff in their bar/reception area. I was blown away by the incredible view that lay before me. The hotel is nestled right on top of farmed rice paddies so provided an amazing taste of the real Bali. The food was particularly impressive. The menu has a French/Balinese fusion twist; and every meal they served us was amazing quality. It's truly a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. I was a little worried about becoming ""bored"" due to the quite, but the constant massages, yoga and laying by the pool quickly calmed those nerves. One of the people in the group I stayed with even got the chance to work the rice fields with the locals, yet again adding to the authenticity! Couldn't recommend the place any more highly. Loved it!
