"My mom and I recently travelled to Chiangmai and had a wonderful meal at David's Kitchen! Everything was delicious but the pumpkin soup was amazing and a must try!! The owners and staff could not have been nicer. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Chiangmai. Also a wonderful addition to our experience which made getting to the restaurant so easy was a pickup service (at an additional cost) to and from our hotel. This is a wonderful experience. Fabulous setting, very high standard of accommodation with many little extras such as fruit and biscuits in the room, a bird book and binoculars for our use. Just 10- 15 mins by tuk tuk to Battambang City, this peaceful oasis in wat kor village provides an authentic experience of the Battambang countryside (with modern conveniences) - we loved our stay at this delightful hotel. I was a little apprehensive as we drove down a dirt road and stopped at an old building which was really dark inside. Everything was not old, but antique, and of the best taste. A real treasure trove! Our room was splendid, and we much enjoyed the huge copper bath with its rain shower. The common buildings are spectacular, too, and the decor in the bar is brilliant. The staff, though not ultra-efficient, could not have been more attentive, and the food was very good. Having said that, one has to accept that Lombok has limited resources and that supplies sometimes run out. Massages were excellent, and we took advantage of the outings on offer, which were very well organised. This is a wonderful place to relax.MesaStila: "Java at its best"
"MesaStila is one of those places that blows you away. So many things about our trip far exceeded our expectations. The food was awesome. The rooms are beautiful. A highlight was the Easter Egg painting hunt that the staff ran for our two little boys. Yokyo (maybe not correct spelling) was sweet and made sure our little ones felt special. Thank you. What a beautiful mansion and a fantastic guide. There are 3 tours a day (11am, 2:30pm and 3:30pm), which means the tour is busy (the only way to see the mansion) but also the guide knows exactly what she's talking about and is fantastic! Our guide, Pat, was super informative and also a lot of fun. It was also fantastic to see all the photos of the restoration work which they took great care over. My stay at Villa Mathis was a great experience, the setting is what I expected of Bali, the Villa was large, clean and comfortable. Excellent service, very accomodating as to my request for vegetarian dinners, actually one of the best I have had.
