Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Not Just A Hotel But An Experience"
"GOOD: -historical and cultural hotel with a vast Chinese history -price is relatively high in Penang but it is worthy definitely -huge room, clean washroom even it looks old (looks old, not physically old) -consistent and thoughtful interior from the lobby to the stairs, from the atrium to the room, you will feel you are in the old China -nice place for breakfast BAD: -as there is a lot of open area and trees, do expect there will be mosquito in your room, you better check once otherwise you will be bitten like a fresh meat that I experienced Room Tip: Old but Not Physically Old"The Island Lodge: "Perfect"
"We spent a few wonderful days here after a cruise on the Mekong. We received a warm welcome and brilliant service throughout. We took full advantage of the infinity pool and it was a great place to lounge and read beside. We cycled around the island and noticed that lots of weddings were being celebrated. Our stay coincided with New Years eve and we hugely enjoyed the special dinner served. Don't forget to ask the owner to tell you the story about the Opium related artefacts!"Villa Song Saigon: "Wonderful! Keep Up The Great Work"
Stunning boutique property in district 2 of the city yet feels and looks like you are far more rural. We stayed here twice and were given a very warm and typical Vietnamese welcome each time. Service was impeccable and attentive without being intrusive. All seemed to have a very genuine interest in how we were and what we had done each day. Great sized lovely pool for the number of guests accommodated, chilled to exactly the right temperature! To the rear of the hotel is a beautiful garden, bar and indoor/outdoor restaurant overlooking the river and across to the fields. Chilled music adds to the very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out by the river with a drink (or two) each evening! An excellent menu and wine list provide great choice and all of the food was beautifully presented and absolutely superb. The hotels speed boat provides a courtesy shuttle service between the hotel and centre of the city in just 15 minutes, far quicker than going by road! Exceptional service from a clearly dedicated, highly trained and competent team. Nothing is too much trouble. We hope to return soon...Maison Polanka: "Beautiful rooms, amazing service"
Felt like a home not a hotel, from the warm welcome to the beautiful rooms. Everything is spotless, and the staff so helpful, esp with arranging tours . The restaurant is superb, and my wife particularly loved the coffee too! So much care has been taken with every aspect that I really can't fault anything. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful stay, and we will definitely return.Maison Polanka: "An oasis indeed"
This lovely sweet hotel is indeed an oasis. It's location is so strategically located to give us the best night sleep. Waking up in a garden made us feel at home. Value for the money is backed up by the very professional service. I personally like the service the Khmer staffs rendered to us. Amazing pool too! Try the food they serve.
Sukoon Houseboat: "best house boad"
"After many places we zeroed down to Sukoon and we knew it would be great. We booked Suite and it surpassed our expectations. They pick up from gate and drop you a house boat , check in was fast and staff was very courteous, Humble and polite. We offered Kawa on sunny breezy evening Rooms were Big, Spacious and had good view. Good comfortable Beds and Heaters. The washroom are the best from houseboats perspective. Its loaded with excellent quality toiletries, bathtub, shower panel etc. "The Village House: "Awesome place to relax"
Village house is the perfect place to relax sit back and enjoy. The setting is great, the food really nice you have to do the " taste of Borneo" menu. The staff very nice and helpful. If you want more than hanging around the pool reading, staff can arrange all your trips.KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "Real gem"
"We have stayed for 4 nights at khwan beach resort and every moment of the stay was remarkable! Extremely helpful staff, accomodating every request, private pool and great interior with attention to every detail. There is nothing that we could have expected better. The staff provides service to and from the AirPort. As French / English speakers from Lausanne we also felt a touch of home and had no communication problems as the owner is From France . Would highly recommend to any one traveling to kosamui: whether a family , couple or friends. Tip: try the Mathis restaurant or delivery . The kitchen is French fusion and the chef makes amazing fondant au chocolat. For those preferring local menu, there is a great choice Thai food equally as great "Maison Polanka: "Maison Polanka: A Sanctuary in a Temple Town"
Maison Polanka is for those who prefer the serenity of a haven, something authentic and real, intimate and independent. The boutique hotel is just as elegant as the Intercontinental in Danang, as carefully and imaginatively conceived, but way, way smaller, just five rooms to the many villas and suites on Intercontinental’s water-front acreage on Monkey Mountain. Down to the smallest detail, the design and style of the hotel is a reflection of the owners’ life, that is to say, intricately linked to Asian and Cambodian crafts for over 20 years: a private collection of paintngs and photographs from Khmer, Asian, and European artists, the Art Deco and 1950s furniture and objects sourced since 1992, all found their natural home and function in the renovated “Maison” and “Khmer House.” The whole hotel is just two those Cambodian-style – read stilted – teak villas set inside spacious, lush, tropical, and best of all, secret gardens that sit behind a tall wall, which shuts out the hullabaloo that marks the start of high season. If what you are after are the temple adventures Siem Reap has to offer, Angkor Wat the crown jewel, then Maison Polanka is just a short drive from that UNESCO World Heritage Center.Upon your return home you will be tired (very, the wake-up call is generally 4 a.m. so your guide can get you there for sunrise) and sweaty (when it’s not pouring frogs, Cambodia is hot and humid), so a restorative dip in the hotel’s cool, crisp infinity pool will feel great. Or a massage. The spa is a temple within this temple. Is it possible to square serenity? The restaurant sala is next to the pool, its menu, owner Nathalie assured us, features authentic family recipes, largely her own. She also told me an aunt owns a restaurant in Boston and a cousin wrote a Cambodian recipe book. Meals at Maison Polanka are prepared by Pich, a woman who has been the family chef for 20 years. We found the menu choices all so good – a perfect caesar salad, fried spring rolls, steamed rice, stir-fried squid with peppercorns, a Khmer chicken curry, caramelized pork with an egg and rice, stir-fried eggs and veggies for breakfast, beef loc lac– we chose to eschew the many fine options Siem Reap has to offer foodies and instead, have all our meals, including several candlelit dinners, at Maison Polanka next to the pool, which at night is lit by votive candles.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
