David’s Kitchen: "Warm welcome and excellent food"

Review by: AlwaysSomething | Source: Trip Advisor
Just wonderful. Made a last minute booking and they were able to squeeze in myself and my girlfriend the next day. (I'd advise planning ahead, you might not be so lucky.) We were warmly welcomed by every member of the staff we encountered, and David himself stopped by our table near the beginning and end of our meal to have a chat and ask us what brought us to Chiang Mai in general and the restaurant in particular. Friendly, gracious and genuinely interested. The staff pulled off the rare trick of being super attentive and friendly while remaining casual. As for the food, we had the Japanese pumpkin veloute, spicy raw salmon, pomelo salad, wagyu beef cheeks and lobster in wine. All delicious and paired nicely with wines suggested by our waiter. At the end of the night they presented my girlfriend with a bouquet of roses to congratulate us on our engagement (there's a section on the online reservation form for special occasions -- nice touch). A wonderful capper to a lovely weekend.

Talabgaon Castle: "Treated like royalty in a royal palace"

Review by: Tony S | Source: Trip Advisor
"The first thing to say about reviewing Talabgaon Castle is that in order to differentiate these 5 stars from any earlier 5 star reviews, I should probably go back to the others and knock them down to 4 stars ... its just that good. The setting, the staff, the food, the amenities, the service ... all were top notch. We (as a couple) spent two nights here in January 2016. The staff were awaiting our arrival, and cool drinks and towels provided after the couple of hours drive from Agra (it is closer to Jaipur but we were going the other direction). Our bags were taken swiftly to our opulent room on the ground floor, and soon we were eating our first meal. This being the 6th day of our first trip to India, staying generally in upper market accommodation, we have become accustomed to good Indian food - but this took it to the next level. Flavours literally bursting. (...) For our final morning, the hotel staff set our breakfast table out in the courtyard of the gardens. In a nutshell - if you're able to stop over here ... even if its a little out of the way ... then do so. You will I am sure be as surprised, impressed and amazed as we were."

Glenburn Tea Estate: "Dreamy"

Review by: emwhit262 | Source: Trip Advisor
"High in the clouds perched on a little mountain near Darjeeling sits the most incredible retreat in all of India. I looked forward to my stay for months, but nothing could have prepared me for just how WONDERFUL this place is. It's probably the closest thing I can imagine to being royalty- such a beautiful example of old colonial splendour, and you are treated like a VIP. I enjoyed the communal dining, where I met lovely people from around the world, and it's pretty special to be able to just go for a guided hike anytime you like- there is always a guide on hand. Though it was mostly cloudy when I stayed, in the mornings the clouds parted and I was lucky enough to get an incredible glimpse of Kachechunga (wow!!) Rates seem expensive, but include so much (transfers, laundry, all food, all hikes, all activities!) that I can't really complain about the price. Everything was of perfect quality. On a side note, I stayed as a solo female, and I felt very comfortable, and my privacy was completely respected. Room Tip: They all have their own charm. Can't go wrong."

The Cabochon Hotel: "Classic eclectic"

Review by: Bin Amer N | Source: Trip Advisor
"The furnishing and finish is exquisite. The surgical head lamps near the kitchen and classic England sink and toilet bowl are just some examples how the hotel endeavours to capture the past. The service from the hotel staff is the best out there. Limited number of rooms so you feel like you are the only guest here. Interesting breakfast layout where you can dine amongst the hotel lobby areas. Will definitely have fond memory of 45 sukhumvit road. Stayed April 2017, traveled with family"

Rachamankha: "Masterpiece"

Review by: Nicole Y | Source: Trip Advisor
"We stayed 5 days for our anniversary and we enjoyed our time staying in this hotel. 1. Convenient location, only 20 mins drive from airport and 10 mins drive to night bazzar. 2. Artful structure, the hotel itself is the masterpiece and it is covered with collectibles of the owner, orchids are everywhere, you must visit their library 3. Peaceful atmosphere, quite & clean room, it is a great place for relax and stress relief. Friendly staffs (and their GM Paul Walker) are so helpful. Free wifi available for me to stay connected to the world. 4. Great chefs, delicious breakfast (no words), dinner is even better (must try their Myanmar curry and mango sticky rice wrap)"

Nimmu House: "Escale chaleureuse"

Review by: jakylou | Source: Trip Advisor

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "A Stunning Place to find where your heart belongs to"

Review by: Jerry2528 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Very accidentally and surprisingly came across 4 rivers floating lodge while cruising on Tatai river. Still remembered the feeling when the image of 4 rivers floating lodge came into my eyes, from far to close to the site, not just beautiful, but grateful to have you in this place I think the beauty of the place should be discovered by yourself,It's like for a man, you would enjoy to discover by a layer and layer : ) The most impressive part is always the people, especially the owner of 4 rivers, has been struggled a lot to help local community and kids over there, protecting the environment which makes the trip more meaningful to all the visitors. Tips for visiting 4 Rivers: - Best reason is Between October to April, if lucky enough i mean the weather, you will find a lot of fireflies looks like a Christmas tree and a lot of butterflies you have never ever seen before. - you should bring your binoculars and astronomical telescope, you could see many rare birds and gibbons - The most important FACT need to be aware is about the poor connection of the cellphone, recommend to use Melfone SIM card with better connection but not assure it is always stable. - it's like 5h30mins depart from Phnom penh to 4 rivers, 3hrs from Sihanouk ville to 4 rivers by car. Pick-up arrangement is also available for them."

Les Maisons Wat Kor: "Lost in Paradise"

Review by: Grace R | Source: Trip Advisor
This is not a hotel but Paradise. So beautiful with a nice garden. Room is very very big with simple decoration but very convenient. We love the scenery around the hotel, it is wonderful. Sitting at the middle of the nature, reading a good book and drinking a cocktail. It was the most relaxing moment in my life

Reverie Siam Pai: "A very special hotel restaurant"

Review by: Jane R | Source: Trip Advisor
"We had been unable to secure rooms at the hotel so decided to go for dinner. Im so glad we did. We started with the speciality cocktails and then tried the tapas style menu. The menu is not exclusively Thai cuisine but the food was astounding. The ambience of the restaurant and the service provided by the maitre'd was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble."

Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Very comfortable and extremely friendly"

Review by: davidgaguinesaul | Source: Trip Advisor
"My godson and I stayed 3 nights here. The bungalows are beautifully designed and cater for ever need. The many windows open onto the backwaters with views of the fields beyond. It is an ecological resort with its own organic vegetable and herb garden and the kitchen is well versed in local dishes and high quality. The menu was very reasonably priced. M As with most resorts in Myanmar, it is not cheap at USD $230 per night. Yet the experience was excellent and the staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Ms. Thant Zin Aye who helped us with every detail, including choosing our menus each night. Breakfast served outside on the terrace is truly lovely. The resort is famous for its Burmese cat sanctuary and is known locally as ""the cat house"". The only downside was the Internet connection which was almost non existent. I would highly recommend this hotel for its unique boutique qualities. Stayed March 2016, traveled with friends"
