Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Wild at Heart"
"As we pulled up to the meeting point , we were met with a striking man in safari attire, Danu. Danu (our host) is a much younger Sri Lankan version of Sir David Attenborough-with a dash of Indiana Jones. His knowledge for wildlife is amazing and he has an eagle eye for spotting animals as did our amazing driver who is so knowledgable and we loved hearing about his tiger encounters in India. Both these guys are passionate conservationists but make it really interesting and are very sensitive to the needs of wildlife and safari newbies. My husband and I became so comfortable around then we found ourselves asking ridiculous questions like ""Does that elephant get lonely?"" Danu is a true professional for keeping a straight face when he answered ""Um, I haven't gotten around to asking him""... We are still laughing about but seriously these guys are like your personal wildlife Wikipedia. We booked the normal tents and were absolutely blown away by the luxury. We have been staying in 5 Star hotels throughout Sri Lanka but this was the cleanest room/tent we have ever seen with the crispest sheets and plugs for my phone. I will miss my outdoor shower, there is no better feeling than having an outdoor shower after a big day in the park. I have to talk about the food. It was next level! This was by far the best food I have had in Sri Lanka and what made it SO special was Danu showing us how to eat it like a local. I loved learning about the cuisine and Sri Lankan culture under the stars. The guys who were serving us in the bar and restaurant- a lantern lit space under the stars treated me like a jungle queen! I miss them already and plan to kidnap them the next time I come back. So I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who has a deep respect for wildlife, a love for a bit of luxury in the jungle and those who are wild at heart. Yala is calling for you. Ki and Keelan"Rahai’i Pangun: "A Major Highlight of my Borneo Adventure"
"I went on a 4 day cruise up the Rungan River with Wow Borneo and had a wonderful time. The staff were outstanding, very warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was really healthy and tasty. The boat itself was open, airy and comfortable & I loved sitting on the top deck watching life on the river. My very comfortable double room had a private BR and a small private deck as well as air con/fan to keep cool. It was totally worth the slurge! We were fortunate to see a good variety of orangutans on the various pre-release islands on the Rungan River. It was a real privilege to see these beautiful creatures fairly close up in a natural setting. I feel hopeful that most will be fully released into the wild. Like the reviewer before me suggested, I'd recommend you go soon. There were lots of gold dredges on the river banks & the sad reality is that these small operations use mercury to extract the gold which is released into the river poisoning everything downstream. It makes me sad because this is precious habitat for the local people and of course the orangutans."MesaStila: "Wonderful Relaxing Family Vacation"
"My family (wife, toddler and an infant) spent 3 days at MesaStila over the 2015 Chinese New Year. The facilities are wonderful and even with 3 nights stay we did not have enough time to enjoy all the amenities. Our 20 month old daughter loved the opportunity to run free in the grass and splash away in the shallow section of the pool. (...)The staff were very friendly and helpful with all requests. A wonderful time in a wonderful place."Tugu Bali: "Classic & Classy at the same time"
"Canggu is a fun part of Bali, it's a great mix of being on the water as well as being very laid-back and hip (like Ubud and unlike Kuta). And Tugu is one of the oldest properties there - but they seem quite contemporary in a 'here's what classic Bali architecture is like' way. You can't go wrong if you don't mind paying the Tugu prices. The rooms are really nice and unique, and designed well. It's a hop-skip-jump to the beach. My only complaint would be that Friday night parties on the beach tend to be really loud, but hey, it's the beach. Super service, and awesome staff. What a breakfast! Room Tip: See if you can get the ones with a view of the sea"MesaStila: "The best and most RELAXING stay"
This is my first time to Indonesia, and staying at Mesastilla has been the making of my stay. I have loved every part of the experience, and the best part about it all is that they provided me with guided access to so much of the surrounding areas. The real Java. We rode for miles and walked each day, meeting the locals and exploring the villages and mosques. I just loved the staff and especially the hotel manager and my personal trainer/guide. I also did the Java dance lesson and it was fabulous. Aside from all of that the spa rooms were amazing and I slept, ate and relaxed. I only had three days but it felt like longer. I am leaving tomorrow and will miss it all. I am definitely coming back and bring my friends and family.CABOCHON: "Cute and quiet hideaway in Bangkok"
"Super friendly and helpful staff, a gorgeous old style building creaking with history in a peaceful soi just off sukhumvit, the Cabochon gives you all you need for a stay in this hectic city. From its handy location near to the BTS to its deserted rooftop pool this hotel delivers. Breakfast is good (although personally I always like to see some Bircher muesli on offer!). We slept wonderfully here, it's quiet and the beds are comfortable. "Villa Song Saigon: "Brilliant"
Stayed for two nights at the beginning of a two-week trip through Vietnam, and it couldn't have been a better start. The hotel and its location are spectacular. Nice airy room with a small balcony overlooking the river. Amazing staff, fantastic breakfasts and lovely dinners right by the riverside. The shuttle boat drops you off right downtown and picks you up again. Absolutely perfect!tugu malang: "Warm friendly and so much Character"
"From the moment we arrived ,we were greeted with the most warmest of smiles. It didn't take long before the staff greeted us by our Christian names. Our room was beautiful and on the bed a welcome post card, a nice touch. Everything about this hotel is amazing, the service the cleanliness, the amenities , and the spa was divine. We took an organised tour through the hotel as it is very much like a museum. So much art and wood carvings, the walk down ""The Love Avenue"" towards the Sahara room was simply beautiful. The food in the Resturant, you just cannot fault, 5 star all the way. Afternoon tea is provided each afternoon with some traditional Javanese sweets. We had booked for 2 nights only but extended another night , just really couldn't leave. If I could give this place 6 star, I would. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay in Malang very enjoyable. "The Cabochon Hotel: "Authentic, personal, stylish 5 star service"
"This hotel is perfect for those who prefer luxury in a classic and intimate setting. The hotel feels like a grand colonial home. Everything is perfect. Beds are great. Lovely balcony and verranda. The downside: the fantastic roof top pool is not illuminated in the evening and closes at 7pm for no obvious reason. But this remains a hotel where we will definitely return."Manda De Laos: "Gorgeous settings!"
The waterlilies and the huge pond is reason enough to have a meal at this place. Food is good too. All in all a lovely addition to our Luang Prabang holiday itinerary.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
