Rahai’i Pangun: "River cruise – Indonesia’s must see Orangutans"
My husband and I went on a 2 night / 3 day day river cruise and the river cruise was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Jeni was fantastic and the crew could not do enough to make our trip comfortable and memorable. The Orangutans in their natural environment were a delight to watch and what magnificent creatures they are. Such a shame what the ever expanding human population is doing to these magnificent great apes....but there seems to be hope for them which is heart warming and Wow Borneo is definitely the company to book this once in a lifetime adventure with. The boat is very comfortable, except for the cold shower brrr... and the food scrumptious.Tugu Lombok: "Wow"
"Initially we were planning to stay at another hotel for our 3 night stay in Lombok, but then I came across the reviews of this hotel, and I could not believe all the 5 stars. However, after our 3 nights were over, Tugu Lombok TRULY deserves all the 5 star reviews. Basically the hotel is situated next to its own private 900metre beach. Although we were there after a tide, the staff did its best to clean the beach every day. All along the beach there are deckchairs, open-air cabins chairs etc Rooms: We stayed during Ramadan, and our room was close to a mosque. The praying could be heard throughout the night. When we talked about this to the GM, they immediately did their best to accomodate us in a new room, which was farther from the mosque and its sound could not be heard. The rooms are clean, and service is twice a day, morning and evenings. Our first room had a semi-open-air bathroom (still very private), which was something we never came across, but enjoyed. Hotel grounds: Hotel grounds are magnificent. Clean cut green grass, sandy beach and sea. The hotel offers free snorkeling equipment, free canoes and also other sea amenities. Staff: The staff were incredible. They really go out of their way to make your stay great. We were on our honeymoon, and they brought a cake for us in the last night, and decorated our room (whilst we were dining) with various 'towel animals'. We were super delighted to see it and could not believe our eyes. Since the hotel has limited rooms, staff knows you on a personal basis, and it really makes you feel more at home. Excursions: We took 2 excursions from the hotel. One was to Gili islands and the other to the waterfalls. Both were a little bit pricey, but we enjoyed both of them. The Gili islands one was exceptionally good..they literally give you a boat to use at your own leisure with your own captain and his helper :) They suggested good snorkeling spots etc. Dining: Since there are no restaurants nearby, we took dinner at the restaurants hotels. Food was really really good, especially the fish, but a little expensive. For our last night, we also had the opportunity to dine on the sand and under the stars, surrounded by candle light. Truly one in a lifetime romantic experience. Conclusion: This was one of the best hotels we have stayed into in our 3 week Bali honeymoon. The 5 star reviews are really well deserved. IF we are ever back to Lombok, we will surely stay there again!!"Villa Song Saigon: "Beautiful place, thoroughly recommend"
Set on the river in an expat area, gorgeous French villa with giant pool and lively restaurant, service is great, but unobtrusive - shuttle bus into town and lots of staff information and where to eat/shop. Did a Chu chi tunnels tour with Les rives and they pick you up at the jetty - loved the place!Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "4 Safari’s in 2 daya"
Had a great time on safari at Noel Rodrigo's leopard safari tour - we did 2 morning and 2 evening safaris and stayed in their glamping accommodation complete with shower and proper toilet. When we were not off road chasing down wildlife we enjoyed the amazing home cooked local food at the campsite. Saw lots of animals but our favourite was ending up in the middle of a herd of elephants - amazing experience! The staff were all lovely and knowledgeable - highly recommend it!Muang La Lodge: "A piece of heaven in Northern Laos"
"The resort is a great place for a bit of peace and relaxation. The managers are involved in every aspect of the property . The food was fantastic , the SPA an experience ! One of my favorite places in Laos. "The Village House: "An amazing place – absolultely beautiful and run by the loveliest people"
"The Village House is an easy and traffic-free 40-45 minute drive from Kuching at the foot of Mount Santubong. It's absolutely beautiful - it's clear the owners have put tremendous thought and effort into creating a relaxing little oasis, and they've accomplished as much. The grounds are beautiful - very green and very relaxing with a luxury, boutique-y feel - when you see it, you can't believe how little they charge to stay here! The rooms are immaculate with gorgeous four-poster beds and well thought-out décor. The hotel is really, really gorgeous, but the highlight is the service - they went WAY above and beyond anything I've ever experienced. We forgot a backpack, so the owner lent us one - and not only that, but very kindly stocked it with bug spray and band-aids for our climb up Santubong! Then, when we got a little stranded and couldn't get a taxi back, the hotel chef came to pick us up - couldn't believe how helpful they were. We did two activities while we were here (climbed Santubong and a day at Bako) and they organized everything for us at VERY reasonable prices. We spent no time at all making our own arrangements, which made the weekend super enjoyable and relaxing. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. We've been to the Kuching area three times and this is by far and away the best place we've stayed - and in all my travels, the best customer service I've ever received from a hotel! "SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Amazing food and service"
We went for our anniversary and were treated amazingly. In addition to the fabulous food we ordered several additional special treats were brought out to our table. Wonderful experience and beautiful quiet setting.Manda De Laos: "An Oasis in the Middle of the City"
"This is such a special little spot - it feels like a hidden oasis in the middle of the city! We arrived around 8:30 pm without reservations and were given a table right beside the lily pond. The lights reflecting off the water combined with the cool, lounge vibe, made it feel as if we had walked into a secret hideaway! In addition to the romantic atmosphere, the food was delicious - some of the best we ate in Laos. We are admittedly adventurous eaters, but the menu offers a wide range of dishes to satisfy any palate, including vegetarians. Definitely a bit more upscale compared to other restaurants, but as we were celebrating our last night in LP, it was totally worth it."David’s Kitchen: "Two thumbs up"
This place reminds me of Antonio's in my own hometown. A great restaurant tucked in the outskirts of the city. Great food. Great Ambiance. Great Service. Incredibly affordable at that. Now to think of it, this place is what "Antonio's" in every city should aspire to be. I had the set menu of salmon gravlax, pumpkin soup, braised beef cheeks, and sticky toffee pudding- all excellent. The additional black truffles felt short of expectations though- void of any scent or aroma.David’s Kitchen: "Perfect dinner in Chiangmai"
The food was amazing! I️ had the duck and it was cooked perfectly. David was so friendly and he even recommended some restaurants to us in Phuket. This is a first class restaurant!Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
