Satri House: "Attention to Detail"

Review by: wellpoot | Source: Trip Advisor
"The Satri House setting is welcoming, elegant, and most comfortable. The quality of all offerings (lovely grounds and statuary, water features, open-air restaurant, and rooms) is evident at first glance. The staff present a sincere attitude of kindness and concern to guests and strive to fulfill any possible requests. Be sure to ask to use the free bikes for a special view of Luang Prabang. Room Tip: We made no requests for a special room and were quite pleased with the hotel's choice for us."

Satri House: "Wonderfully peaceful boutique hotel"

Review by: Millie M | Source: tripadvisor.com
"Had a wonderful time at Satri house in late August for the first few days of our honeymoon. The whole hotel is full of the most fascinating antiques and curios, and is really beautifully designed. We stayed up in the Satri House suite, in the building where the prince of Laos used to sleep! The suite was so beautiful, and had a view over the serene swimming pool. If you are a fan of vintage and mid-century antiques, you will love it! Whilst staying at Satri House (due to it being the raining season) there were no other guests, so we were treated to the experience of staying in our 'own private mansion' with all of the fabulous and incredibly helpful staff there to cater for our every need. Just perfect! No matter the time of day or how late we had been out, we always returned to the hotel to find 4 people at the front desk ready to help us, and two behind the pool side bar, just in case we fancied ordering a drink! The food deserves special mention too. Dinner on the first night was delicious - lots of carefully crafted local specialities with 5* presentation. Although the hotel is set away from the main part of town, it's still within walking distance or a very easy 2 minute tuk tuk ride. We preferred being slightly further out as the peace and quiet was exactly what we wanted at the end of the day. "

Locavore: "Outstanding"

Review by: DexterD2013 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We chose to have the 5 course degustation menu with accompanying cocktails for each course. While we may have had some reservation about having cocktails instead of matching wine, they were a revelation! While we were waiting for our meal to begin we were stunned to be served with SEVEN 'amuse bouche' dishes prior to this. All were outstanding and each was described to us in detail by a member of the staff - sometimes a waitress but often one of the cooks - including the head chef. In a similar vein - the 1 dessert course actually ended up being a 'pre-dessert', main dessert, and then about 3 'post desserts'. All the dishes were of a very high standard with interesting combinations and flavours. The open kitchen allows you to observe the staff preparing the food - all in a seemingly tranquil manner. Service was outstanding and we waddled out after almost 3 hours, overwhelmed by the experience. Even though it is reasonably pricey compared to other restaurants in Bali (~US$150pp including drinks), it is well worth it."

4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Magical"

Review by: Caroline E | Source: Trip Advisor
An amazing place and well worth the travel to get there. Beautiful location, very comfortable and excellent food. We stayed 3 nights. It was lovely swimming in the river, although beware of the changing current. We walked in the forest and canoed around the island opposite.

Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "A gem of a hotel"

Review by: ben d | Source: Trip Advisor
Beautiful quiet resort not far from the liveliness of Chaweng. A very personal service from the best staff ever, who used our first names. Great breakfast & fabulous food, especially the set menu on Weds.

Manukan Island Resort: "Fantastic way to start the holiday!"

Review by: Beth8737 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Arrived at Manakan and the staff were fantastic greeted us straight from the boat, check in staff Welter was BRILLIANT and couldn't do enough for us helped us with transfers to our next destination and was just really helpful, warm and friendly. The room was great in hindsight it would have def paid more for one of the rooms within the trees as the view from there rooms just looked amazing! Great walks through the jungle but mosquito spray is ESSENTIAL!!!!! Dinner was lovely could do with more veggie options though but that seems to be a theme throughout Borneo. Lovely beach and just like everyone says once the tourists go you feel like the islands yours. Food was really good and a great price! Especially when compared to other hotels. Diving was nice although the corals are looking a bit sad and a lot have died but no fault of the resorts. Sunset point whilst it has a bin really needs someone to take the trash as over flowing bins kind of ruined it a little also once the tourists have gone a bit more effort into taking trash of the bin could be in place. A great start to the holiday and honestly a beautiful place which I'd def recommend"

Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "An excellent experience, faultless"

Review by: Greg L | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was a fantastic experience, both in the camp itself and in the National Park, with excellent, knowledgeable guides. If you are a keen photographer, ample facilities are provided including bean bags for game drives and guides have a good appreciation of vehicle positioning vs the sun and game. First and foremost, the main reason that I imagine most people have arrived at this page is that they are looking for a good safari guide in Yala. You will not be disappointed. We saw a LOT of game. 5 leopards in total, a sloth bear, 2 tusked elephants (very rare in Sri Lanka) and countless other species. The guides were very enthusiastic and clearly love their work. The commentary on the typical behavior different animals we saw was informative and at times even entertaining, these are really nice people. The experience in the camp was also fantastic - the food was the best that we had on our trip to Sri Lanka, the tent that we stayed in, ""Leopard"", felt very private and to reiterate other reviewers' comments, the outdoor shower under the stars was a memorable experience. Other guests were similarly enthusiastic about wildlife which led to a calm and suitably quiet environment when we were close to game."

Sukoon Houseboat: "Perfect luxurious houseboat, great service, food and location"

Review by: HKTRsTravels | Source: Trip Advisor
We booked the suite at the back of the boat which was very quiet. Babu the waiter was fantastic. The food was really great, had the best momos (even in Nepal/Tibet they are soggy and poor quality). The little motor boat to take us to and from the shore was perfect. Definitely take a little Shikara for an hour's boat ride. Take time to relax and enjoy the houseboat though. Good book and some Kashmiri tea, perfect.

Rachamankha: "BEAUTIFUL hotel in the Thai tradition!"

Review by: Susan B | Source: Trip Advisor
It was great to experience the beauty of Thailand in the guest rooms, the restaurant and the gardens. The whole property feels zen and made for a very restful stay. The breakfast which was included in the price of our rooms offered many choices and everything was delicious. The service is impeccable and friendly. Every place we saw was kept clean and neat. It's an amazing place! I'll never forget it!

The Island Lodge: "Lovely and relaxing stay"

Review by: Bernhard K | Source: Trip Advisor
"Nice little lodge on a island in the Mekong delta. We stayed in a river view room, nice big room, very clean, comfy bed, Moskito net wasn’t really tight. Beautiful view of the river, very calming. The staff is very friendly and attentive the food is great. We liked the way the breakfast was served: you can order as much as you want, so everything is prepared fresh and the usual mess and waste of a buffet is avoided. Works very well for a hotel of this size. The hotel is popular with families, so it could get noisy. We didn’t have a problem during our short stay."
