Tugu Bali: "Romantic 10 year anniversary celebration"

Review by: Mariahahansen | Source: Trip Advisor
"This was the perfect place to have a night away from our 5 year old to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! We felt like we were a million miles away in the serene setting provided by the hotel. This is a must for any trip to Bali! The cultural night on Thursday adds such a special touch to our evening! "

Babe: "A dinner to remember, but you want to get ready for the damage (the bill)"

Review by: Volodkina O | Source: Trip Advisor
"We've spent just two days in KL and this restaurant has become one of the most memorable experience for us. The view was unbelievable and we were lucky enough to get a ""front row"". The personnel is just beyond expectations - polite, classy, service hearts indeed. The chef is just fantastic, he presented his own quisine: zapas - japanese sushi. His dishes are like a symphony - he took us from literally a splash in a mouth, to intense flavors and then experimental ice cream dish...and the dessert...we've ordered french fries with truffle on top of the offered set. We also loved the selection of sake, absolutely loved it. Yes, we paid quite a big bill, but it was worth it! Also, if you a celebrating an anniverary - go ahead, surprise your significant other. A show at a table next to us left me speachless...)"

MesaStila: "Jewel in the heart of Central Java"

Review by: jurgen53 | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We traveled the world and stayed in some of the most beautiful hotels but we have to say that Mesa Stila is a class of its own. The fantastic combination of Dutch colonial buildings and the most beautiful Javanese historic villas in the middle of a functioning organic coffee plantation surrounded by impressive volcanoes is second to none. We loved the restaurant with its organic vegetables from the resort's own garden. Every meal we had during our 9 days at Mesa Stila was delicious, beautifully presented, well sized and well prized (we usually had two courses each, one or two vegetable side dishes, water, tea, or fresh fruit juice or beer and never paid more than app. 40 US$ which is OK for a 5 star resort even for Java). Breakfast was very good and never boring. A special treat at breakfast was a complimentary health tonic of herbal combinations presented by the Jamu lady. We also enjoyed the complimentary high tea in the afternoon as well as the free yoga classes and all the other activities offered by the resort. The villa we stayed in (Merapi 3) was spacious, beautifully decorated with Javanese antiques had a gorgeous bathroom with a sunken bathtub and a huge deck with stunning views. We loved the magic pool and of course the Hamman Spa for the most relaxing massages. Top of all is the wonderful staff. Always friendly, good English speaking and very helpful. We loved our stay at Mesa Stila and can absolutely recommend this jewel in the heart of Java to everyone."

Le Calao: "Fabulous dinner"

Review by: nmpvincent | Source: Trip Advisor
Everything from food to service was as great as is any 2 star Michelin!! Very creative food, unique minority food offering to discover the sample of local cuisine at its best. Dont be misled by the current rating. The restaurant just reopened and has had yet enough reviews. But for us was the best restaurant in town by a long stretch !

Chakrabongse Villas: "Beautiful secret"

Review by: Monica P | Source: Trip Advisor
We absolutely loved this place it's so beautiful relaxing boutique villas with magical gardens in the middle of a busy area of Bangkok. Once inside the grounds it's so quiet and private and just wonderful. Staff are very helpful and the manager Mr Omh is a great wealth of knowledge. Breakfast was yummy and a great start for the day. Our room so comfortable and spacious and the pool we used often a perfect relaxing finish. Close to Wat Pho, Grand Palace, flower market and great street food and restaurants. Visit LarbLoi local restaurant above Starbucks at river boat terminal near flower market. Really yummy.

Rachamankha: "Beautiful Hotel"

Review by: Rae C | Source: Trip Advisor
I loved the hotel. The hotel was in a great location. If you arrive over the weekend, there is a Sunday night market within walking distance. The hotel was clean and the room was nice and cool upon arrival. Staff was friendly and the morning buffet delicious!

Muang La Lodge: "Wonderful find"

Review by: AnnBoss | Source: Trip Advisor
"This amazing retreat is worth the 5 hour road trip from Luang Prabang. We only stayed 2 nights. Would loved to have stayed longer. The food is wonderful. The taster menu couldn't be better. All of the staff are warm and welcoming. Couldn't have hoped for more. "

Tugu Bali: "Bali Transcendent"

Review by: Bret M | Source: Trip Advisor
"This is a wonderful hotel. The Tugu brand is well known in Indonesia for its sense and mix of history, local culture and design. Not to mention excellent food and understated but attentive service. This property has those attributes in spades. The Tugu Bali is perfect for people that like luxury and privacy and interesting, crusty surroundings - at a reasonable price I might add. Don't even think about staying here if you are into 5 stars and chrome and marble and buffet restaurants and big gyms and concierges that can get you into Mozaic or the Oasis Beach Club bikini parties on short notice - because you will hate it here. It is located, by the way, in Canggu, which was a sleepy place when the hotel opened, but is now the hippest area in Bali. Being surrounded by hip has its disadvantages, but also advantages - for example, the Tugu is opposite the best bar in Bali (possibly in Indonesia) and just down the road from one of the world's best seafood restaurants. Fortunately, Tugu guests are immune to the disadvantages (hipster crowds, beach clubs, bad restaurants, noise). The rooms here are oases - I know this is a cliche in hotel-speak, but it happens to be true in this case. In our room here, we were beautifully cocooned and felt entirely isolated from the rest of the world in the best possible way. Our small private garden and plunge pool were green and perfect. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. And I have never have thought of a bathroom as being sexy until I saw our bathroom in room 109. The common areas are also lovely. Big and spectacular in the case of the wood-pavilion-ed lobby, small and cool in the case of the pool, expansive and comfortable in the case of the beach-side garden. The service is great - the way I like it at least. Unobtrusive, but ever present. Bali is an ecosystem with deep wells of cultural fascination and mystery. If you want to immerse yourself in this Bali for a few days (not the boring Bali of Nusa Dua, or the Bali of cheap clothes and cheap beer and self-conscious bistro restaurants in Kuta and Seminyak), but not travel all the way to the north or east of the island, the Tugu Hotel is about the best compromise I know"

Satri House: "Ooh, this Indochine feeling"

Review by: rdebode | Source: Trip Advisor
"Wanna feel like a character in an Indochine film-noir? Stay at the Satri House in Luang Prabang and you will likely grow into it! Or just stay there because the place is more than perfect. Very atmospheric rooms: nothing beats this early morning light coming into the room through these shutter doors. Dwell around those steps and shady arcades and gaze at all these decorating items - where did they get all those beautiful things from? Two swimming pools, very friendly, professional and helpful staff, beautiful garden, great restaurant - what else do you need? LP is on walking distance, but you can take a hotel bike too."
