Cuca: "Great food"
We visited Cuca in Jimbaran, after an event at Polperro winery (Red Hill), hosted by the head chef from Cuca. The food at Polperro was amazing and I was really excited to see the restaurant for the first time. I was not disappointed, the textures, presentation and flavours are fantastic and the staff are warm and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed, it's dimly lit and moody, but if you have a preference for more light, you can always sit at the bar over the kitchen and watch the precision of the team. The outside seating area is in a garden, complete with water features and lanterns. The grounds are generous. Price wise it's not over the top, I loved everything this place, so much so, I have booked again for tomorrow night!!Tugu Lombok: "It was a world away in Shang Gri La"
"We are very fortunate as we ended up at the Hotel, and they had extra space so they upgraded us to the ocean front Villa. It was you own world and steps away from the beach. Everybody went out of there way to please. When we left it felt like the Love Boat with the entire staff waving goodbye. The best experience was taking the Hotel's boat to go snorkeling at Gili Islands. We went early and were ahead of everyone at the best spots. Not to mention we had the Dragon Boat! Food was excellent, and a very relaxing experience. Not to mention the free Tea Service at 4:00 pm to just relax and catch up with staff on any activities planned for the next day or even a last minute dinner on the beach with massage..."Tugu Lombok: "Vacaciones inolvidables"
Misool Eco Resort: "Simply splendid"
Torn as to whether to share info about this place, or keep it a secret. Stayed here in April-2014 with my partner, in water cottage number 5. The location is spectacular and the resort is just lovely. Decent food (excellent wines), high end facilities, and wonderful/friendly staff. It is truly impressive to see what the owners have accomplished here, up to and including the engagement of local stakeholders/residences to make this place part of the local community. Oh, and the diving is truly high-end... Diving is second-best ever, following Sipadan, but all in, this place was a notch above. This, and Auberge du Manoir in Chamonix France, are the only places I/we intend to revisit. Congratulations to the owners, on an impressive undertaking.Sanak Retreat Bali: "Sanak"
Very great resort with a great personal service, the restaurant and food was amazing, best of all the hotels of where we stayed in Bali. Many thanks to the chef :-) A great and peacefull location in the middle of the Rice fields.Locavore: "A must-experience in Ubud"
My husband and I had a truly memorable dining experience at Locavore during our honeymoon to Bali just two weeks ago. Not only is the food incredible and service superb, but the local ingredients provide such an amazing introduction to the place, time and history of this part of the world. We enjoyed dinner at Locavore on our first night in town and it colored the entire trip. In fact, we loved it so much that we stopped in at The Rooster (their bar across the street) and Locavore To Go (their grab-and-go spot just a few doors down) over the next few days. Do not miss this spot on your trip. Worth every single penny.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Wonderful meal!"
Very delicious food - loved all three courses. We made a request to swap a menu item from the other course, and they were very accommodating!Sanak Retreat Bali: "Wonderful Sanak Retreat Bali"
"Hvilket fantastisk og dejligt sted placeret midt blandt lokale rismarker i Bali's højland. Afslappende og super hyggeligt resort. Få gæster, dejlige hyggelige cabins med en helt vidunderlig udsigt til rismarker og bjergene mod vest. Super service og god mad. Havde en dejlig tur med lokal guide til rismarkerne og den lokale landsby. Også skøn og flot tur til vandfaldet. Stedet kan varmt anbefales. "Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Book in for Lunch and tour"
"we came for the tour only (not hotel guests) but saw the sign for a well priced lunch in the dining room. At 65rbs is was fabulous. Setting, history and fusion of Asian and western flavours on the menu. An unexpected delight in hot weather tourism. ring prior as hear it is popular with cruise boat patrons."Arumdalu: "The best Belitung can offer"
On our first trip to Belitung, we stayed 2 nights in a hotel in the city before moving down to Arumdalu Private Resorts. We planned it in such a way that our trip ended in Arumdalu, hoping for a perfect finish to our long holiday. We were not disappointed. After an hour drive from the town centre, we arrived at the lush grounds of Arumdalu. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our villa was beautiful; spacious, very clean and well provisioned with useful amenities. There is a private pool (with warm and very clean water - non chlorinated!) to every villa. The food in Sahang Restaurant was delicious. The menu offered limited selection of fusion food, yet all of them were amazing. We took turn to try all the different items on it, and love every single dish. The view from the restaurant which opened towards the beach was simply beautiful. The best part of Arumdalu must be the private beach. It was truly private as the property was surrounded by virgin and lush plantation. The pure white sands, enormous boulders backdrop and clear blue sky made Arumdalu the ultimate relaxation spot. Some of the activities offered include: batiking (there is a resident batik craftsman), canoeing, walks and hikes to the windmill and big boulders scattered along the beach. A note about the batiking: children can also try the process and be as creative as they can, while adults can even order customised batik at very reasonable prices. The price of the villa was, admittedly, quite expensive. However, it includes pick up and transfer to the airport (which can be considerably pricey in Belitung), generous breakfast portion (we had 4 portions for us and the kids everyday) and amazing experience in Belitung. Arumdalu is definitely non-mainstream and only for the discerning travellers. Highly recommended and hoping we could one day return!Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
