Reverie Siam: "Little Thai Venice"
Very nice place - Little Thai Venice. We have a beautiful relax day in our trip from Chiang Mai. Fantastic breakfast. Nice bar near the river. Beautiful view of the big white Budha statue and the mountain.Tugu Bali: "Hotel of our dreams"
Hotel Tugu is truly magical. From the moment you walk in, you feel as though you have been transported into an antique oasis. We were escorted by the friendliest staff to our Dedari Villa, which includes a private plunge pool, and a beautiful outdoor shower and bath that opened up to our own private koi pond. The room alone is like a fantasy, but the rest of the grounds are just as stunning. The location is perfect - right across the street from the ocean, and Old Man's and The Lawn (which are two fun, young bars/places to hang out.) I would 10/10 recommend this hotel to all, especially a couple looking for a romantic retreat.Nimmu House: "Amazing place for a relaxing & peaceful stay in Leh"
"We arrived in early May and were the first guests of the season. PROPERTY: It's a beautiful property with tons of apricot, apple & walnut trees which were in full bloom. The courtyard / terrace with comfortable seating & hammocks was paradise. One could spend an entire day lazing in the sun, gazing at the amazing views and spotting beautiful birds that would fly by and occasionally perch on the trees to feed (the photographs cannot do it justice - no offense to the photographer). The WIFI is patchy when it works, and that added to the charm of being totally disconnected. ACCOMODATIONS: As it was too cold (especially at night) we stayed in the heritage rooms instead of the tents. The rooms are cozy though small. They have all the basis amenities and the beds are comfortable. The hot water bottles & space heater (when the power was on) made the rooms bearable at night. The typical Ladakhi furniture was a nice touch. Though, watch out for the narrow and short doorways, after a couple of bumps we got used to them. THINGS TO DO: We were there for just 3 days (our only regret was we couldn't stay longer). The first day was spent relaxing on the property to acclimatize, which was a treat by itself. The manager gave us tour of the house and the history of the house and the family that owns it is fascinating (we got to meet some of family and they are gracious and friendly and it was a pleasure meeting them). We also visited the Alchi & Likir monasteries which were built in the 11th century and are very well preserved with beautiful paintings/murals. We also did a day trip to Pangong Tso, which was amazing and a must do. The hotel management made all the arrangements and they were top notch. [A heads-up though, the hotel only accepts CASH (no credit cards); so bring enough!]. MANAGEMENT & STAFF: The best thing for us about Nimmo House, is the management & staff. Couldn't say enough nice things about them. They treated us as family (in a good way!!). It was a pleasure to get to know all of them, hearing their fascinating stories about what brought them to to this remote place from all over the world and their experiences in Ladakh."Inle Princess Resort: "Remains charming"
"Love this hotel. Its unique and peaceful situation with lovely rooms/bungalows and its impressive and helpful staff makes this the ideal place to explore the lake and its surrounding villages and temples. One of the best places to stay in Myanmar. Food is good too. Breakfast and dinner looking over the inlet is as good as it gets. Our fourth stay here."Dewakan: "Was a little skeptical about French cuisine in Malaysia but with chef Darren Teoh – WOW!"
"My sister had booked a birthday dinner for me at Dewakan restaurant- French cuisine with local Malaysian ingredients. Hmmm... I rather have local food, I told her. The reservation is booked & she had given the deposit to ensure the dinner reservation.... sigh... ok... let's try. The restaurant was located at Shah Alam at a school... as for parking, tell the security guard that you are going to the restaurant- there is ample parking as everyone has left the college Ambience- Nice tasteful decor Service- Attentive & Impeccable We had tapa size courses, 12 courses I think. Each course is carefully explained. We even had chef Darren who came out himself to explain the dish to us. At each place setting- you have a menu that tells you the order of the courses. All interesting- there are a couple of ingredients that I would not have tried however it was done in such a way that it was palatable & enjoyable. There are many courses that is just simply WOW! At the end of the meal... I apologized to my sister & thank her for the great recommendation Check their website- apparently the menu does change."Tugu Bali: "Great service, friendly atmosphere, and beautiful property"
"Service was outstanding from my arrival until my departure. Wonderful welcome, complimentary welcome drink and afternoon tea with tasty cakes. Stayed in the Dedari suite which had a nice private pool and outdoor shower area, with a separate room for the toilet. Spacious room, comfortable bed, beautiful flowers, and a nice fruit basket. I cannot stress how wonderful and accommodating the staff was! Had plenty of help bringing all my bags to my room and also had a bicycle which I had forgotten was muddy from my long ride that day. I asked if they had a hose where I could wash it and they were kind enough to take it and wash it for me, have never had that type of service anywhere! Food was fabulous! Enjoyed the ""Royal Tugudom"" dinner experience, a ""Grand Ceremonial Dining of the Majapahit Kingdom"" with our own ceremony and huge feast in the ""Bale Puputan"" room. There were only 3 of us so it was way too much food, would have been better for a larger group of people, but what an experience it was! Got treated as royalty and more great service during dinner, was truly a great meal. Breakfast was wherever we wanted it- in our room, on the beach, inside, in the garden, really anywhere. We chose a shady spot in the garden which was perfect and had a nice breeze. Enjoyed the beach afterward and a nice dip in my room pool and the main hotel pool. Lots to enjoy at this hotel! Wish we had more time to explore the area and all the amenities and history of the hotel. To top off our great stay we received a departure fruit basket with water for each of us to enjoy on our drive to the airport. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a great experience and wonderful stay! Hope to return one day..."Mie Cafe: "my number two in Siem Reap"
nice, small restaurant with friendly staff and good, innovative food. We were very well taken care of and left the restaurant happy. And for all those Swiss who know what a "Röstiraffel" is, watch out for some of the lamps. Very nice and an excellent idea which I will copy at home! I can highly recommend this restaurant and I am happy that the owner of Wat Damrak told us to go there.Heritage Suites Hotel: "Charming quiet hotel"
The Heritage Suites is delightful. It's small and quiet, in the middle of Siem Reap. The staff are equally lovely, attentive and charming. The main accommodation is in a fairly functional concrete building but the rooms are large, clean and well fitted out. There is small pool with adjoining bar. The food is pretty good too and there are plenty of options for breakfast - including traditional Khmer - worth a try!Rice & Zen Boutique Resort: "Beauty by the Sea"
"We both loved this place! Even though its accessible from a main beach road it seems very sheltered from the hustle and bustle. The setup is so perfect for total relaxation and enjoyment. The staff are so friendly and solely focussed on giving you the best experience possible. Also they have an incredible beachfront pool and adjoining restaurant/café where you can sit and watch the waves roll in. Would love to go back someday. Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"Rahai’i Pangun: "River cruise – Indonesia’s must see Orangutans"
My husband and I went on a 2 night / 3 day day river cruise and the river cruise was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Jeni was fantastic and the crew could not do enough to make our trip comfortable and memorable. The Orangutans in their natural environment were a delight to watch and what magnificent creatures they are. Such a shame what the ever expanding human population is doing to these magnificent great apes....but there seems to be hope for them which is heart warming and Wow Borneo is definitely the company to book this once in a lifetime adventure with. The boat is very comfortable, except for the cold shower brrr... and the food scrumptious.
