Glenburn Tea Estate: "Heaven on Earth"
It's a four hour drive from Bagdogra airport and a very bumpy one at that, but the moment you arrive you forget all of that. The tea estate accommodation is amazing. I stayed in the Singalila suite in the bungalow and it was to die for. The interior design was immaculate and the view from my window of Kanchenjunga in the morning heavenly. Food was fantastic. So quiet and peaceful, a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the cities.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Place to relax"
"We went there in Aug . We arrived early and the staff was very accomodative..they gave us room at 7 in the morning.Rooms are clean and have partially open baths,wooden floor and furniture give a elegant look.You can always walk down to beach,though not as good/clean when compared to others in kerala.They have a very good pool with great view of sea.Food is ok ,the chef is always ready for ur wishes. We stayed in the village bungalows with our two sons. Room was fantastic, hotel exceptional and staff amazing. Well worth the money. Great position in sanur. Beds amazingly comfortable and the feel of the hotel is one of classic old style bali. Truly enjoyed our experience here and will return. We absolutely loved this place. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and had great designs. Location was good as all sights in Georgetown were within walking distance. "My wife and I stayed at Sea Dance for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon and we really couldn’t fault it. The service was fantastic from Kent picking us up from the airport and showing us around the site, to Faith, Helen and John who were always there to help and were on first name terms within a few hours. Poy the resort manager was also extremely helpful and extremely welcoming. We stayed in one of the beach front pool villas which was fantastic, clean and comfy. We were lucky enough to arrive on a Saturday where the hotel host a bbq, the food was unreal as well as the Wednesday happy hour (free drinks). As some of the reviews do mention the resort is isolated but there are taxis just outside and you can walk to the first strip (around 10-15 mins). Top tips get up early for complimentary yoga and also do the island tour - excellent value. Thanks everyone for making our stay so good."Satri House: "Amazing"
Couldn’t have loved my stay at Satri House any more than I did!! The grounds and rooms were stunning. The staff members were some of the best I’ve ever encountered. We did the 7 course degustation with drink pairing, it wasn't just eating dinner, it was an amazing experience, I am so glad I decided to go all out and get the full experience, hardest part was choosing whether to go standard of vegetarian menu. "This was without doubt one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. We've tried some incredible food in our travels, however the presentation and flavor in the food at Cuca was exceptional. I'm glad we didn't do the tasting menu, as between 4 of us we managed to order almost everything on the menu (so more dishes than the tasting menu), and it was hard to fault any. The pork bun is a must. The butterfly flsh is different and soooooo good! The squid was exceptional and the squid ink risotto is an interesting take on the dish, well worth trying if you like squid!! A fabulous hotel with lovely staff. The hotel is beautiful from the outside and the room we had was great with a fantastic balcony overlooking the huge pool. The room itself was a good size with a lovely bathroom. The setting on the river is beautiful and the food in the restaurant was some of the best we had in Vietnam, especially the breakfast with amazing French toast! It's a great restaurant to sit and watch the river traffic go by and you can almost imagine you are in the middle of the countryside. The hotel is a little way from the city centre but they lay on regular free bus transfers and feels like a haven and welcome break from busy Saigon.
