The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "My best hotel – nice to come back"
This was my second stay. The staff remembered me and welcomed me again. I felt like I come back to my home. Sophisticated interior, food, flowers, aroma, and especially friendly staff. Everything I love with this hotel was still there. I travel a lot in the world and this is my best hotel.Tandjung Sari: "This place really is a 5 star hotel…"
We stayed here 1 night before flying back to Europe. Everything about Tandjung Sari is just excellent. The staff are professional and helpfull, they will go the extra mile for you with a smile. The place is perfectly well kept, the bugalows ooze luxe, comfort and classic Balinese style. Food was great, excellent by-the-glass wine choice and do try the banana fritters with icecream. Smooth jazz in the late afternoon to watch the sunset in style. We'll be back for more!Cuca: "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for me"
Was wondering where to eat in Bali, i know there are so many sorts of restaurants everywhere and some a just a letdown....so wife recommended why don't we try Cuca, since some of her friends said good things about it. Since we are staying in Uluwatu, so it was not that far for us to get over there. We arrived slightly over 2pm and the restaurant was empty, i asked my wife are you sure this place is good? We were greeted and showed to our table...each table is separated by a curtain for privacy, so we decided to choose the table closest to the full view of the kitchen. Everyone was busy, apparently there is a close event that night. So we were the only guest. Our waitress was this pleasant looking girl that was very attentive and took time to explain the menu. We decided to try the tasting menu, i think was about 7 sharing courses. I won't go through the menu, you have to come and try it out for yourself...my only verdict is "One of the few favourite restaurant in Bali for us"Maison Polanka: "Wonderful"
Absolutely perfect. Great room, wonderful staff who were helpful in every possible way, food that was as good as any in Siem Reap. The location a little outside the main tourist area is a plus: most good stuff isn't in the center of town. The free bikes were nice. Lovely swimming pool too! It's a fantastic facility and we had a memorable vacation.Mie Cafe: "Splendid dinner … best yet in Siem Reap"
Lovely setting, great menu, and food was perfectly cooked and presented .... Crab Bisque, then Curried Langoustine ... All outside seating, fans no A/C, but fine for us ... Give it a try !Tugu Malang: "Two nights in Malang to climb Mt Semeru"
"I'd previously stayed here in 2015 and was aware of their leisure activities programme as the objective for this visit was to climb Mt Semeru (3,676m), the highest point on the Indonesian island of Java. My colleague and I were warmly welcomed by staff and allocated an upgraded room which was much appreciated. Whilst the heritage hotel is very well laid out with lots of antiques and memorabilia, this would count for nothing if the staff weren't up to looking after guests to a very high standard. I've stayed in many great hotels around the world but the Tugu Malang is included in my top 5 hotels in the world. The trekking arrrangements were satisfactory but for various reasons we didn't reach the summit but if we try again we'll allow for an extra day for this. The catering here is exceptional with variety and quality spoiling guests for choice. I can highly recommend this hotel!"Inle Princess Resor: "A longer stay"
"A visit to lake inle was a magical one ,and staying at the inle princess was the icing on the cake .The setting was so peaceful in a quiet backwater ,our room was fabulous we couldn't have asked for more ,it overlooked the lake which had numerous birds flitting about from bushes to reeds what a setting to watch sunrises and sunsets. We had everything we needed for a perfect stay even down to binoculars . The food was excellent and all organic you could taste the difference ,everything was locally produced the hotel had its own area for growing all types of produce . To our surprise the even had 2 cat lodges as they are trying to preserve the Burmese cat breed . Just for the final touch both myself and my husband were given a gift of a traditional Burmese bag Heaven"Jing’s Residence: "We still dream about it!!"
Jing's Residence is a chinese gem inside the walled city of Pingyao. The hotel is located into a historic courtyard that was carefully renewed to maintained its original characteristics. By the way, attention to every detail is something you will definitely find during your stay there. The decoration of the common areas, the bar, breakfast and the room, everything is made to make you feel you are in a special place. They serve west and chinese breakfast every morning, try both if you can. If you have the opportunity try the local dishes, the food is absolutely fantastic. We made noodles class and also recommend, they offer other special activities such as origamis classes for adult and children too. We stayed for 3 nights but had a train only in the evening so the offer us a late check out (actually more than late, we left the hotel only at 8pm!) with no extra cost. This made all the difference in our trip. Staff was always more than friendly and helpful. and they also speak good english. It is expensive but worth every penny. We can't praise this hotel enough. #❤️Mie Cafe: "Really really good"
Went on the recommendation of a local and were blown away by the quality of the cooking here. We weren't surprised to hear that the patron/chef had trained in a Michelin 2 Star in Switzerland. The food shames many one star restaurants I've eaten in elsewhere. We both started with scallop tartare with seaweed and heart of coconut. I followed with Fish Amok and S with a risotto. All just superb. We are going back tonight. Do not miss if you are in town.Mie Cafe: "Amazing food and service"
I came here for lunch by myself and was amazed by the pleasant environment. I sat at the garden and the staff nicely put 2 fans facing me. The food was great - I had beef tartare which was marinated with local herbs and topped with plenty of parmesan cheese. I also had the fish amok which is a classic Khmer dish. The meal was ended with a homemade vanilla ice-cream. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
