Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Small family run hotel"
Lovely stop on our travel through Cambodia. Food was excellent and rooms lovely. The pool area was being tidied when we were there so hopefully this is complete now. Loved the deep fried flowers we received with our drinks.Golden Buddha Beach Resort: "Total paradise and relaxation exceeding expectations"
"This was our first visit to this amazing resort. The journey there, from the welcoming sign at the airport, to a quick efficient drive to our boat to the bay, exceeded our expectations. The arrival view was mesmerising: a wide open bay with a vast long sandy beach with a little hut for lunchtime and a yoga sala, and of course dense nature. Massi, the manager, embodied true professionalism. He welcomed us to our beautiful house Baan Tamarind and gave us thorough details about the resort's amenities. Our house was beyond our expectations. With two stunning bedrooms both with an amazing view of the sea, and stunningly designed outdoor bathrooms, we also had an amazing living space upstairs as a canope amongst trees with a sunset view everyday! The food was probably the peak of the stay. The Club House has been renovated in a spacious way that makes you feel at home away from the busy city life. There is a new menu EVERYDAY (something rare in the hotel industry where after a few days, you run out of culinary options) with completely different meals - each very distinct and deliciously made at defying prices for the quality. The staff constantly walks around with smiles on their faces and are always available if you have an inquiry. The morning buffet and cooked meals are my favorite. You get to sit outside or inside (your choice, although I recommend outside due to the beautiful sea view) and make your own freshly squeezed juice. They have an amazing tea selection and of course the fruits are exquisite. I specially recommend their Thai omelette with rice - a must have during your stay, truly a taste of Thailand! I cannot describe the joy I felt when going to get massages. Porn and Poy are possibly the kindest ladies and although they may seem gentle based on their graciousness, their hands work wonders. I have had back problems for quite some time and honestly, felt rejuvenated every time I came out of the massage sala! The Thai massage is a must. In all, the hotel was anything I could have asked for. You are truly immersed in nature, at night hearing the strangest most relaxing sounds from this rich ecosystem to walking on their vast empty white sand beach with a light breeze brushing against you in the bright sun. Room Tip: Sea front views are the most rewarding due to the proximity to the beach and stunning view!"Jing’s Residence: "Do not miss this!"
We spent two lovely nights at this boutique hotel while visiting Pingyao. It is beautiful, serene and wonderfully restored. Our room was not large, but very well appointed with a king platform bed, desk, armoire and mini-fridge with complementary drinks and snacks. The bathroom was perfect with a large shower with great hot water pressure. We ate in the restaurant our first night, and it was terrific! As usual in China, the food was modestly priced and the wine was fairly expensive. But we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! But the thing that make this little gem excel is the staff. We travel a lot and I don't think we have ever found a place where every staff member was so welcoming! Everyone spoke English and wanted to practice their skills whenever they could. When we went out, we were welcomed back with an opened front door. When we came in for breakfast (very good and a broad selection), we were greeted by name and asked how we slept. Everyone consistently had a smile on their faces! It was a joy to stay here!Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "Hidden Gem"
"Dear Marcus and team, we had such a lovely stay....2 nights just wasn't enough. Fantastic rooms, stunning views, out of this world food, great birdlife, informative nature walks, such friendly locals, a beautiful pool and a world class host. We'll be back. "The architecture, ambience, landscape, surrounding, view, amenities, facilities, service, all perfect! We stayed at the Ambar family Villa which has beautiful view to the mountains & lush greenery. I & hubby particularly enjoyed the in-house coffee plantation tour."Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "Amazing Experience on Peacock Safari"
Fantastic. Despite not seeing any leopards (which is very unlucky so we have heard) my family and I had a lovely time. The food was beyond delicious, the staff were so attentive (one staff member per guest) and while it was camping, the set up made it feel very luxurious. The 5am wake-ups were a challenge but were balanced by the yummy breakfast we received on return, and the fun of the safari. We stayed over NYE and the staff made sure to make it a special evening- celebrating a "Singapore" NYE with Moet at 9pm due to our early wake up the next morning. We were even treated to an amazing "leopard dance" by Silva. He was a staff member who is an ex dancer and it was phenomenal!MesaStila: "Must-visit place for nature lovers, coffee lovers, & traditional Java-Dutch royal lovers"
We fell in love since we arrived at the gate of Mesa Stila. My older daughter (6 yo) said it's just like her dream castle :) the concierge, lobby, and the villa were beautiful as well as overall resort landscape. The staff's service was impressive & very helpful. We enjoyed the coffee plantation tour, beautiful afternoon tea, bicycle riding for my two-daughters, swimming, and quality breakfast indeed. My daughters did not want to go home after stay, so did I and my husband actually haha. Mesa Stila is exactly the place to spend quality time with your beloved. Thank you for the great service! The Island Lodge: "A Great Place for Weekend Getaway"
"A very nice boutique resort, one hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Stayed one night at this remarkable resort for my family of four. Relaxed and enjoyed totally with the attentive service from all the staff. Restaurant offer good food and beverages with reasonable price. The sightseeing tour is sufficient and good for the kids to explore the locals in Mekong Delta. Only one negative comment is that the wifi connection in room was not stable throughout my stay at The Island Lodge. Highly recommended for a short trip stay (2 nights) away from the bustling of Ho Chi Minh City."Maison Polanka: "A wonderful, elegant upscale boutique retreat property."
"We stayed at Maison Polanka in the Khmer House for eight nights in December, 2016 and all of the previous reviews of this accommodation were spot on- it is a beautiful oasis in Siem Reap! Maison Polanka is located just behind Wat Polanka, in a quiet back street not far from the centre of town (about a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride). The accommodation is within a lovely garden setting within a secure walled compound. It is comprised of five guest rooms, a nice open-air dining area a small massage hut and very welcoming swimming pool. The Khmer House is separate from the other rooms, has a large bedroom and living area, a large balcony with chairs, a spacious bathroom and a large open sitting area below the house- it is well worth the extra expense if you want to enjoy the luxury of a private space. Breakfasts were good, with a choice of Continental or American, including fresh fruit juice, cut fruit and bread basket. We ate several meals in the restaurant ( both lunch and dinner). The food was well presented, tasty and reasonably priced. The staff of Maison Polanka were professional yet charming and went out of their way to assist us in every way. Francis, Cathy and their support staff ensured every detail of our stay was perfect- from organising our tours of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples to making reservations at restaurants and the circus and reconfirming flights. Additionally, every time we returned from a morning or afternoon out, a member of staff was there to greet us with a warm smile and a cool refreshing towel. The extra touch of providing guests with a local mobile phone is also a great idea- the Maison a Polanka numbers are keyed into the phone ( so you can call if you need any assistance) and you can also use it to make local calls (to book restaurants or call a tuk tuk). We had a great time with one tuk yuk driver that the hotel uses ( Mr Lay) who speaks very good English, was very helpful and very keen on explaining almost anything about Cambodian life! All in all we had a wonderful time at Maison Polanka and I can highly recommend it as a special place to stay in Siem Reap. Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Simply Beautiful Cambodian Food"
Set menu for $28 or $32 which is ridiculously cheap for the standard of food and service. In Sydney where I w]live it would be $100 more. GOTravel Asia with Secret Retreats
