Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A perfectly relaxing idyll with fabulous staff and great food"
We stayed here for 8 days in early January & loved it. The resort is situated on a very quiet beach with golden sands & has amazing views of the sunset every evening. The pool is large & there are plenty of (very comfortable) loungers & the grounds are pretty and well maintained. There are 2 restaurants which offer different & delicious menus each day. The rooms are large, comfortable & immaculate & I really liked the half open bathroom. I had one spa treatment which was reasonably priced & very relaxing - I also appreciated the free ayurvedic consultation beforehand. We also took an evening cruise along the back waters on a houseboat organised by the hotel - we were the only people on a quite large boat so that was lovely. What really makes the resort stand out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - they were lovely all the way through but particularly on my husband's 50th birthday when they decorated his breakfast table with flowers, presented him with a bouquet, presented him with a personalised birthday cake (& the whole team turned out to sing happy birthday) & wrote happy birthday in flowers on the bed - all of this for free & without my requesting it. It made the day & the holiday so very special - we were really touched & very appreciative. The Cabochon Hotel: "The Friendliest place in BKK"
I do not have enough words for how much I liked this hotel. I was traveling alone with a 10 month old baby (something that can be a bit hard from time to time as you have noone to share the work with). At Cabochon we had a great shelter to return to from the busy streets. Even though I love the whole style of this hotel I still think that the team is what makes it really really special. They are genuine friendly and independent and cared so much for us. Everyone is child friendly. I was able to arrange babysitting with them to go to a spa one evening. On top of this they have a great restaurant attached to the hotel which I can highly recommend. Since everyone wanted to play with my son I was also able to enjoy a peaceful dinner on my own which was quite nice. Breakfast is a treat and you can choose from a selection of breakfast types. We enjoyed an asian breakfast and it was my favourite on this journey. Apart from this the hotel is just beautiful and has a calm and cool colonial flair in the middle of the hot and dirty city. We enjoyed our stay at Cabochon so much that I can not praise this hotel enough!4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Great peaceful and beautiful break from the city!"
"We stayed at 4 Rivers for three nights during the rainy season and had a great experience. The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating. Vy, the tour guide, adjusted the day of sightseeing perfectly when the torrential rains came. While I'm sure that this resort is even more amazing in the non-rainy season, we were able to have a peaceful couple days relaxing and reading, while still touring parts of the river in between rain showers. The food was phenomenal - it is largely western, and is very inventive and artistic. Apparently 4 Rivers recently added a young phenom chef who is putting out dishes like you see in New York. There are a few local dishes also that were tasty. All in all, we had a great time despite the rainy season. The hotel managed every detail from booking to check out perfectly and made the trip a very relaxing break from our tours of the larger (stressful) cities in Vietnam and Cambodia."Satri House: "Amazing"
Couldn’t have loved my stay at Satri House any more than I did!! The grounds and rooms were stunning. The staff members were some of the best I’ve ever encountered. The scent of lemongrass will forever remind me of this special place. We stayed 5 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.Heritage Suites: "Beautiful Oasis in this Amazing Place"
The wonderful feeling of this hotel began at the airport when you are collected in a vintage Mercedes - they give you a cool wet towel and a long cool drink. The hotel is slightly off the beaten track but it is such a beautiful place to return to at the end of a day of sightseeing and the peace and tranquility are priceless. We would not stay anywhere else. The staff were so accommodating (even when the roads outside flooded and they had to sandbag the entrance). The General Manager was always around and smiling and was so interested in what the visitors had to say. We had a bungalow which is larger than you will get anywhere else and had all the conveniences you could want or need. The pool and the food just completed the entire wonderful package. I didn't want to leaveTugu Bali: "The Secret Retreat!"
"This is our 2nd stay at Tugu. We enjoyed it so much we couldn't resist another stay. Although it is a little more expensive the Tugu ""offer"" is unique. You can lie in your own private space overlooking the sea without being annoyed by hawkers and just watch the surfers, or lie by the pool in privacy. The perfect getaway. We were fortunate enough to experience the cultural evening which presented us with 3 dances - so amazing and professional - a totally memorable experience. We used the hotel driver to take us to Seminyak on a couple of occasions - he was polite, courteous and perfect in every way. Thank you Tugu - your staff our amazing...well done Jenny. Good luck with the Living Wall construction, we look forward to seeing it in the future."KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "A secreat retreat"
"Our couple experienced once again a too short but unforgettable week-end stay in Khwan Beach, right by the beach of Maenam Though they added 4 new villas to the 3 ones thay had only for our first visit, it was very much unbelievable to find such high quality of personal service repeated in a larger boutique hotel and such in-villa service, delightful and with exceptional decoration ( no wonder they call themselves the first Gallery resort in Thailand ) We had again all our wishes coming true as they advertised on their web site. Privacy still at its optimum in spite the 4 new villas, with a sensation of being at home with a rare view over a river, beach, ocean and the island of Koh Phangan !!! And no one to look at us in our private garden and amazing swimming pool. The whole staff is super, special thanks to Gaelle and Nittaya We will be back again soon within few months, we highly recommend this secret retreat!!! "Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Exceptional as ever"
"Our third visit and this time for a full week, which didn't seem a minute too long. The hotel certainly deserves all the many awards that it gathers. The formula is very well tuned to demanding Western tastes but there is always a willingness to tweak that formula to make everything totally perfect for individual quirks and preferences. Sasi the food and beverage manager is a modest, unassuming man but he runs one of the slickest operations of this kind in any part of the world.. He exudes genuine care about his guests and that attitude filters down through his team. (Particular thanks to Melbin, Sharoon, Libin and Kiran.) The food is outstanding from breakfast through lunch to dinner. The beach is almost deserted, the pool delightful (although a little more zeal in tidying up the vacated sunbeds would be welcome - that's about the only fault I can find!). Some good low-key outings are possible to fish markets, Theyyam festivals etc to enliven the general chill-out experience Stayed January 2017, traveled with friends"Manda De Laos: "Treat yourself"
First, that place is absolutely gorgeous : sofa, garden, plants, everything look like paradise... The service is fantastic and professional. The food is delicious and they have a great wine menu. Well, treat yourself and enjoy that for few hours.Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "We found perfection"
"If you want a perfect place this is it. Very nice bungalows (only 6) perfect service and outstanding cooking. Basically it is strctured as a foundation (non profit). The bungalows and restaurant finance the integrated tourism school dedicated for students of a poor financial background. Since 2009 48 students yearly can learn all the basics in tourism. A splendid idea. It is worth to pay the price just for all theses reasons. Additionnally they do whatever they can to respect the environment. And all the food comes from their organic garden. Don't miss this place Stayed August 2016, traveled with family"Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
