Tugu Bali: "Funky and Gorgeous and Romantic"
"This is a very colorful, unique hotel with a very funky Japanese restaurant that feels like a Shanghai opium den. The rooms are beautiful and romantic. Lots of antiques everywhere, great photography and generally all around wonderful service. Right across the street from a great, bright and spacious restaurant called Old Man to have lunch at with a young and gorgeous surfer crowd. The lobby is huge and dramatic, they have dance performances on certain nights that are beautiful and entirely non- cheesy. Can't recommend enough. You feel like you are in a movie. Jenny, the manager, is a delight and super helpful. We had friends come and visit from an hour away and they said it was worth the trip just to see the hotel. Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazing!"
its quite a way to get there. but its worth to travel to this place: no words for this wonderful place on earth. keep it clean, keep it natural, keep your love to it! fantastic people! food is amazing.Sukoon Houseboat: "Sukoon House Boat refined luxury experience"
"We were greeted at the airport with an experienced and very knowledge local guide and immediately made to feel truly welcome and at home, A unique experience to be transported on your personal Shikara (small decorated row boat) across Dal lake to the luxury Sukoon House Boat. The welcome at your boat include cold towels, welcome drink and monogrammed pashmina. The decor, fittings and layout of the boat were all high quality and were complimented with a very strong environmental theme. The food was prepared by a professional chef who always checked with your personal tastes and was served by friendly and professional staff. There was nothing that they would not get for you. A truly relaxing stay in luxury. "Dewakan: "interesting restaurant"
Restaurant trying to create not replicate. very refreshing, very affordable as its set in an educational building.Rachamankha: "Spectacular"
"The four of us decided to splurge a bit on our last four nights on our Southeast Asia tour and reserved a suite at the hotel. Our suite was rooms 24/25 right off the entrance. The suite was spectacular with it's own garden, a very large living area and small kitchen and two large bedrooms with each its own bathroom. We loved the space and it was decorated beautifully. The tub/shower stalls were a bit outdated but everything was clean and worked perfectly although in the other room our friends said the water pressure was poor and they did not have hot water one day. The rooms were incredibly quiet despite the fact that one of the bedrooms had windows facing the front and the parking area. The service was incredible and the staff amazingly helpful even from the pick up at the airport. Lots of helpful info and help in navigating some issues that arose during our stay. The grounds are impeccable and there are lots of little surprises for guests around the property (candies, brandy in the library, etc.) Breakfast was incredible with a great selection of food. The service during breakfast broke down a bit we found due either to language barrier or the fact that multiple people were serving all the tables and therefore sometimes you needed to remind a waiter that you had asked for something or because they didn't write down your order. Nothing serious and is something you encounter all over Asia. The waiters were all very charming and sometimes shy about their English but their English is far superior to my Thai so it all worked! We also ate dinner in their restaurant one evening and it was spectacular and a beautiful setting. There was a Thai instrumentalist that played and with the food all made for a memorable experience. We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely hotel or stay again in the future. Stayed January 2017, traveled with friends"Tugu Lombok: "Peaceful destination"
"We spent a wonderful 10 days at Tugu Hotel. We had booked last minute and stayed in a large villa. The villa was nicely decorated and furnished. The villa had a large semi open bathroom and a 7 metre pool in a private garden. There were views across the lawn to the sea. The were 2 outdoor communal pools in the very large gardens fronting the sea. The gardens have been landscaped and there is a super collection of Indonesian artefacts including statues, temples and various other objects. The menu has both Indonesian traditional dishes and western, We ate Indonesian dishes the whole time. The cooking is first class. Breakfast is served all morning and comprises of both local dishes and healthy western options. We visited the spa on a number of occasions and left feeling very relaxed. All the staff were fantastic from the people who cleaned the villa, the gardeners, restaurant staff and management. They could never do enough to make the stay memorable. They were courteous, happy and always had a smile for you. It was a truly wonderful holiday and we look forward to returning soon."Glenburn Tea Estate: "Paradise"
We had been told that Glenburn was a special place by others that had stayed, but that goes a little way to describe the experience that myself and my partner had... it's a truly magical destination. Our room Rangeet was stunning, as is the rest of the estate, so beautifully maintained by the meticulous staff and gardeners. We loved the communal dinners, especially the tea themed night which was extremely tasty. The staff throughout our stay were always very helpful and friendly, there is always someone around too. We decided to take the hike down to the river and have lunch there, which was beautiful, as again the food exceptional! I would also really recommend having a massage, one of the best I have ever had... We were lucky enough to see an extraordinary sunset one evening, I don't think there can be another view like it anywhere in Darjeeling. The whole place, and our stay felt so serene and relaxed that a special shout out must go to Jemima and Holly who manage the place and are obviously making sure things run so smoothly - thanks you two! My only complaint would be the road, lucky for Glenburn they have some of the best drivers in the world! Can't wait to go back.Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Quiet, restful luxury"
"Located on a beautiful stretch of beach, the Hermitage is perfect for a relaxed stay. The staff is excellent - very courteous, attentive & helpful. It was a pleasure to be able to have all our meals by the ocean as one of the restaurants is on the beach. We had a very large room & a gorgeous open-to-sky bathroom. Definitely going back! Stayed December 2016, traveled with family"Tandjung Sari: "A grand old lady!"
Whether you love Tandjung Sari as much as I did, or not, will depend on your perception of what constitutes a 'good' hotel. If you are looking for the height of modern luxury and state-of-the-art technology, this hotel is probably not for you! It is, however, the perfect choice for anybody wanting accommodation which oozes old-world style and class and which is full of charm and grace (...) I could not speak more highly of the staff, all of whom were gracious and graceful in their approach to guests -- they made me feel like an honoured guest rather than a mere paying customer. This was a brilliant experience -- just writing about it fills me with a warm glow -- and I very much hope that I will be able again to sample the delights of this grand old lady, Tandjung Sari. If you are thinking about it, do it!!Maduzi Hotel: "Perfect place"
A great summary of what you can expect in Bangkok - great place, wonderful people! Further the location also couldn't be better if looking for getting easily around in Bangkok. Overall perfect stay and for sure I will come back in due course.
