Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "Delightful boutique accommodation"
"We stayed for 2 nights. This is a wonderful organisation offering accommodation and training for young people in the hospitality industry. They grow their own vegetables and herbs on site. The food was very good. In particular i can recommend the spring onion fritters - an Inthar recipe - very tasty and delicious. The staff here were lovely and very attentive. Only downsife was the noise from the boats and some noises in the roof at night from wildlife. Apart from that I would recommend this to those who are looking for somewhere small and boutique. "David’s Kitchen: "Our special night made even more memorable by DK"
"David and his team have created something very special in DK. Expectations are set very high when going to a ""fine dining"" restaurant, especially one with such a collection of positive reviews. I went with my partner for a special occasion and we both left DK thoroughly impressed. The food is outstanding, supported by a fantastic wine and cocktail list. The only issue we faced the whole evening was choosing what to order. I finally went for the Wagyu beef strip loin which was melt in the mouth, accompanied by the most gorgeous paris mash and truffle sauce - food heaven. What makes DK special is that David has managed to deliver the sophistication and refinement of fine dining, yet also makes it warm and engaging. The personalised service and attention to detail is everywhere, his service team is friendly and attentive, and David himself a real pleasure to chat to. For what you get, it is serious value for money and I shall definitely be returning when back in Chiang Mai."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Amazing ,seculded art of the world"
"Unique part of our holiday - the team service, smiles and activities are exceptional The glam-tents accomdation provide a location that is remote and provides eceptional insight into a ruggedly beautiful art of Cambodia. We highly recommend a minimum night stay to breath in and be art of this secial environment - Cambodia has so much more to offer in terms of natural beauty and environment luxury and Uniqueness than Angor Wat"Sandat Glamping Tents: "Rice paddy paradise"
"I had a wonderful 2 night stay a Sandat and it was a welcome change after the hustle of Ubud. I love what they have done and how the concept of the place works, especially the green philosophy. My tent was super secluded and really breeze, something I was scared of with no aircon. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at all times and the shuttles to go to and from town easily organized. My one and only tiny remark is that the food good be better. They have a great selection of cocktails and local wines and the food is okay. I just think don't think it is up to par with the rest of the experience which is truly magical."SEEDS Restaurant & Lounge: "Good job"
Atmosphere is cosy and warm. Chef welcomes the guest. The food is great modern cuisine with touches of classic. Service is very good. Price is very ok for the value. Strongly recommend!Satri House: "Home away from home"
"Close to the most gathering places, quite, peaceful with a warmth & welcome staff members. The design made us feel like home each building has traditional style with beautiful decorations in details. The services are personalize special care not much not less with the touch of Laos. We will absolutely return and spend longer days."Manda De Laos: "A gem"
We went here as it was close to our hotel and it was pouring with rain. We were not disappointed, the setting was lovely, set around a pond and beautifully lit. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Well worth a visit.Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Beautiful green grounds and Khmer haut cuisine"
"The rooms are comfortable adaptations of traditional wooden houses, the lighting is a little dim but they are clean and comfortable, the grounds are green and beautiful. The pool is warm and welcoming. Free tea and real coffee are available on demand from the friendly helpful staff. Whatever you do make sure you get the set menu dinner four delightful courses (and if you are lucky an interesting and fragrant amuse bouche as a bonus) for just $12! We also really enjoyed a delicate duck soup for breakfast, though Continental (with eggs) and American alternatives are available if you want. The set dinner was the best meal of our visit to Cambodia."Glenburn Tea Estate: "“Magical Shangri-La up in the clouds”"
"The views from all around both properties were breath-taking and we enjoyed some of the recommended walks you can do around the grounds, especially being treated to a delicious lunch down at the river. The food was great throughout the 4 days, sitting outside for breakfast and lunches is a treat (as long as the flies are not out in force) and dinners were similarly a great experience where you get to chat with other guests in a relaxed, communial manner, though private dining is always available, which we did take advantage of one night, when we were too fatigued to make small talk. Great variation of food also - with a different food 'theme' given for different nights - i.e. Indian, Tibetan, etc. The room we had (Singuella Suite - spelt incorrectly I'm sure) was huge, had some lovely period furniture and was decorated to a high, if a little mumsy, standard. Great bathroom and loads of hot water too. Sadly our visit to Darjeeling town was not the best due to it being really overcast, so I would suggest anyone stays here at least 3 nights to make the most of their time here. The road is what everyone else has written about it - bumpy and nerve jangling, but it is what it is - certainly we felt it seemed worse on the way down than up....also it seemed to get slightly more tolerable the more you did that journey, but it's no deciding factor over whether you should go to this place - it is really special, the views are simply stunning and the bonus of getting all your laundry done here for free was a great boon for us as we had 4 weeks worth of laundry to give them from our previous travels in India. The manager Jemima was lovely too - friendly, welcoming, easy to talk to with a great convivial manner. The shop was a nice, unexpected visit, but needed a bit more diversity in merchandise....again it got all a bit mumsy and twee after a while. The only other small criticism would be some of the employees English is very, very limited, which resulted in some wrong orders and misunderstandings - nothing major, but this is a pricey place to stay at and some guests might expect the service to be highly sharpened to reflect the fee. Still, if you can do go, I felt 4 nights was just the right amount of time to spend here....had a beautiful time which I will not forget. Room Tip: The newer bunglaow - for sure"Samanea Beach Resort: "Good family time"
The staff was very friendly, they were always ready to accommodate your request and provide their best service. Don't forget that you are in Cambodia and their standard may not be as high as other countries in South East Asia. We were looking for a remote, quiet place to relax, the resort match our expectation and even slightly above.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
