RACHAMANKHA: "Enchanting hotel"
"We stayed for two nights and loved the peace and tranquility this special hotel provided. It is located in the Old City, and thus is slightly removed from the bustle of central Chiang Mai. Really the attraction here alongside the quiet is the extraordinary architecture. The property's attention to detail in design and decor is one of a kind. If these features are not what you are seeking this may not be the hotel for you but if so it is a special and unique stay. "The Cabochon Hotel and Residence: "Incredibly friendly and helpful staff"
I recently stayed at the Cabochon for three nights, and found it to be a wonderful respite from the hectic pace of Bangkok, Love the city, but you need a break from it. I stayed in a queen suite with a private balcony and shower--was exactly as advertised--spacious, comfortable, all amenities provided that I need. Only critical comment would be that the shower is actually too hot--I had a hard time controlling the water temperature. Other reviewers have noted the various elements of the hotel--I only used the breakfast area (ate outside), and the a/c'd lounge area for happy hour. didn't use the restaurant or pool. What I found most welcome, other than the quiet respite from the city pace that the hotel provides, despite its location right off Sukhamvit, was the attitude of the staff. From my pre-arrival communication about the best was to get to the hotel from the airport during morning rush hour, to their assistance arranging for a 4:30 am cab and a breakfast box, the staff were superb. I've forgotten a few names, but Pom, Ticha, Nicky, the barman San, were just great. Friendly, solicitous, helpful--exactly what I wanted and received. Really first rate in my opinion,Les Maisons Wat Ko: "Romantic place"
Book at Battambang Resort, Battambang. No Reservation Costs. Great Rates. Great Availability · Special Offers. Comfortable stay, away from the town, but good for exploring the countryside. Very good food at the restaurant.Bassac Cruises: "Memorable"
Had a fantastic and truly memorable time, the crew couldn't have have done enough for us and beautiful food. Special mentions go out to An and Ngoan. Has stood out as one our best experiences whilst in Vietnam. The Mekong river is amazing, thanks to all involved.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Beautiful place to stay"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night holiday stay at the Blue Mansion. The place is just beautiful and steeped in history. Our 'Scholar' room was spacious and secluded although the food court noise from next door is very loud at night. Earplugs provided by the hotel fixed it to some extent, but book a room on the other side if wanting an early night! The mansion is ideally located close to food outlets, markets and it's walking distance to the Fort and other historic attractions. Pool area was small but ideal at the end of hot days. Indigo restaurant on site was a pure delight. Breakfast was interesting - try the duck and noodles for a treat! Room service drinks were reasonably priced and staff were very helpful and friendly. The biscuits and rice cake surprises in the room each day, with a hand-written greeting on a leaf, were an additional delightful touch. We loved our stay here. Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple"Slow Villas and Spa: "Best place on gili air"
Such a beautiful looking place in a quite part of the island, this resort is full of lovely little details that make your stay so special. The whole team are there to help you and every thing you need has been provided. The villas are spacious and luxurious, you could easily stay for days and I wish we could have stayed longer! We visited as a big group and had so much space to spread out! Such a great place to stay, can't wait to get back!Pindaya Farm House: "Very good"
Our 2-day stay at the Pindaya Farm House (formerly Thahara Pindaya) was really wonderful. The hosts, Aye Aye, Ko Yangon and their staff took very good care of us. Our room was very nice, the food home cooked and very tasty, and the sightseeing recommendations very helpful. We visited of course the famous Pindaya Caves, but after we had come back from the about 1.5 hrs easy trek (round trip) to the green tea plantations on the same mountain (we recommend the trek!). Shan paper making was another very nice stop. Our hosts took us to a weaver in a local village, away from the tourist area, simple but kind of a hidden gem. Thank you very much to our hosts and Aye Aye's sister for the wonderful stay we had at their guest house.Tugu Lombok: "Spiritual bliss"
The lanscape was beautiful. The interior designs of each building as well as the gardens area were levely. The building and grounds transported me back in time. I felt as if I was sitting on the grounds of an old temple that had been uncoverd after years of nature at work covering the sacred site. It was a wonderfully spiritual experienceSatri House: "Great hotel"
"Stayed here for a first time visit to Laos. The arrival is a little underwhelming as the hotel has no frontage to speak of, just an opening with a road down to a doorway very tastefully done. Inside is a revelation- a lovely relaxed layout with 2 pools, bar and restaurant. The room was spacious with 4 poster bed, bathroom, separate toilet and large balcony. The room was clean had all facilities including fruit basket and toiletries in glass bottles. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Breakfast east cooked to order with fresh juice, omelettes, croissants etc. Anything asked for was brought without fuss. We did try the restaurant which was very good in the evening. Slight criticisms - there was a cocktail menu at the bar but the barman didn’t really know how to make them. It is about 1 km from the centre so a bit of a walk to get into Luang Prabang town."Muang La Resort: "We Will Go Back"
Set by the river and surrounded by beautiful countryside, this is a lovely place to stop for a few days on a trip round Northern Laos. The resort is extremely well maintained and the staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. The rooms are stylish, well equipped and very clean. The bathrooms are excellent. We went on a couple of trips in the local area while we were there, and although the weather was very wet during our stay, our excellent guide made sure we got the best out of them, which wasn't difficult as the scenery in the area is stunning. As others have said, the food at the resort is very good and the staff, rightly, take a lot of pride in it. In spite of this, they were still very tolerant of of our fussy teenagers and were happy to adapt the five course evening meals to suit them. We organised our transport through the resort, from Luang Prabang and onwards to Luang Namtha. It wasn't cheap, but was well worth it as the road from Luang Prabang to Oudomxai is poor in parts and our driver was excellent. All in all, it's hard to fault this resort, in fact it's quite remarkable to find one of such quality in such an isolated area.
