Samanea Beach Resort: "Absolutely Perfect"
"Wonderful hotel, we extended our stay from 2-4 nights. The grounds are beautiful, large swimming pool and set on the ocean accessible by private jetty. The rooms (or suites) were spacious, exceptionally clean, with gorgeous and comfortable 4 poster beds with mosquito nets. The barroom is again spacious, the big surprise was the large adjoining outdoor area with open shower and oversized round rock bathtub. The rooms had adjoining outdoor areas with comfortable chairs and table were you can relax or dine also included a hammock. The staff were wonderful, would bring our meals and drinks to the beachside cabanas or while we were swimming in the pool. Food at the restaurant was good quality and they made excellent coffees. My only suggestion would be some stand up paddle boards or kayaks as the water was so calm it would be perfect. Whilst at the higher end of the hotel market in Kep, price was very reasonable. A place suitable for all travellers, families, couples and friends also solo if your looking for some serenity."4 Rivers Floating Lodge: "Gorgeous setting with friendly staff"
After staying at an eco-lodge with few amenities, 4 Rivers was exactly what we needed. The tents are large and comfortable, and the staff are very attentive. We love having our own little private part of the dock to sunbathe or jump in the river and the scenery was absolutely stunning. We had a lot of fun on the excursion to a nearby waterfall and on a sunset cruise down the river. Our only complaint was that the food was a little hit or miss. We had an excellent meal the first night we were there, but we weren't as impressed with some of our other meals. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would absolutely recommend it to those looking for a luxurious haven in the middle of the jungle.Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris: "The most amazing experience"
"O h my goodness! These people know about customer service! Not only the nicest people running this but really smart too. Knew everything about the wildlife so it was a great learning experience and so interesting. The level of detail they have gone into to make this a truly exceptional experience is unbelievable. The food is probably the best I've had in Sri Lanka and that's saying something! The accommodation is clean and so well designed. We were lucky enough to be staying in the beautiful master bedroom tent which is truly exquisite. Showering under the stars in complete privacy and safety is something I will remember forever. Our two teenage sons found this to be an awesome experience and as we know, teenagers can be a tough crowd to please! Sadly, we didn't see any leopards on either of the two drives but we did see plenty of other interesting wildlife. Others we met had seen some leopards on their drives so we were just unlucky and that can't be helped. None the less it was the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka without question."Reverie Siam Pai: "A very special hotel restaurant"
"We had been unable to secure rooms at the hotel so decided to go for dinner. Im so glad we did. We started with the speciality cocktails and then tried the tapas style menu. The menu is not exclusively Thai cuisine but the food was astounding. The ambience of the restaurant and the service provided by the maitre'd was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble."The Island Lodge: "Great place to stay"
"I'm currently living in My Tho city and this is my first time my boyfriend visiting me in My Tho. I have worked for Thoi Son island for 3 months but didn't know they have this kind of great resort hotel on this island. We stayed here for two nights and had dinner for the first night. Tastes awesome and the staff who served the dishes was really friendly. We also tried spa and it was awesome too. We really relaxed and felt great. Next time my bf comes over My Tho city, we will stay here again for sure. "Tugu Malang: "One of the World’s Great Hotels"
"It is rare to find a hotel where service is flawless in every detail: The Tugu Malang, one of the world's few truly great hotels, is such a place: The hotel is of such astonishing beauty and the staff are such nice hard-working people, anxious to please in every way, that the Tugu is in fact a destination in itself. If you have no other reason to stop in Malang, then do so to enjoy the extraordinary pleasures of the Tugu. The rooms are ravishing, each one with some element of art and designed thoughtfully for maximum comfort. Exotic fruits await you; the bed is turned down with a friendly note before you go to sleep. Want your shoes cleaned? They come back polished better than when they were new. Breakfast includes almost unlimited pleasures: the menu is vast and you can combine local and Western dishes. Everything is both artful and delicious and the restaurant setting is a work of art in itself. Afternoon tea is included, with an array of local delicacies, served with the ever-present Tugu charm. The hotel owner has built a world-class museum into the hotel. Seemingly endless antiques and art are fabulously displayed; and the best part is that the hotel supplies a brilliant and knowledgeable tour guide to take you round. My guide was Wahyu, who clearly loves the hotel and told me he takes considerable amounts of time to research the objects on display so as to give the best presentation. His tour was completely involving because of his intelligence and enthusiasm -- it felt like being a celebrity receiving a highly-privileged personal presentation from the head curator of a national museum! I do hope that management will recognize Wahyu's excellence and ensure his career development in both museum curating and management! Reception also has the best people: kind, knowledgeable, helpful. They can get you wherever you want in town and make any needed arrangements for you. If you'd like to visit Bromo I'd highly recommend taking the cross-desert route from Malang: it is highly scenic and also quite surreal in places. I did the trip the other way round by ojek (motorbike taxi), but you can also do it by jeep and the Tugu can make arrangements. The ability to take this mindbending route is reason enough to stay in Malang. But you don't even need that reason. The rare graciousness, fragrant beauty, opulence, detailed service and pure delight that exemplifies everything the Tugu stands for means that you should head for the Tugu if you are anywhere in the region for no other reason than to stay in one of the most fabulous five-star hotels in the world at a price for which you would get something only very ordinary in the USA or Europe. This is a best of the best, a treasure, a complete delight: don't miss the opportunity to stay there!"Villa Song Saigon: "Great Boutique Hotel in Saigon"
"Stayed here last week for one nigh on way home and we will absolutely be back. It was great relaxing change compared the the larger hotels as you'd expect from a boutique property. We arrived, checking in and heading for the bar overlooking the river. Service is great and staff very friendly. We booked a table in the restaurant and decided to stay there the evening. The food was very, very good. The following morning we had a great breakfast sitting overlooking the river and my wife then headed to the spa for a very well priced treatment. I took the hotel bus into town. I great stay, but you pay the going rate for that extra privacy and environment. I would add though that the Hotel boat isn't running at the moment and won't be for some time are the local administration are doing extensive works at the landing site. I can now understand why they have a boat because getting into town takes a while dependant on traffic. Not the hotels fault, and what else can they do. I didn't go anywhere around the hotel but it seems it is in an area with lots of Schools and upmarket property. Seemed to be lost of nice eating places etc nearby."Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge: "A Unique Experience"
"We chose this ""add on"" to our small group Saga tour of India and Nepal. It turned out to be the best possible decision. It is difficult to write about without overdoing the superlatives. So I will attempt to reign myself in. In a way it was the very best kind of late fifties/early sixties time warp. Style, grace and comfort, fine dining without the affectation that can spoil simple first class food. As much as possible was home grown and home made. The jams and marmalades just delicious on freshly baked bread. Nothing was wasted, it was an excellent lesson in green, sustainable tourism. Days ended with sundowners in front of a roaring fire. The chef was also kind enough to show me how to prepare one of the very tasty appetisers we enjoyed with our drinks. As we happened to be the only guests for dinner on our last evening we were treated to a table set in the small dining area in front of a log fire. We had five courses all freshly cooked and prepared right down to the final tiny crispy granola bars with coffee. We did enjoy a short walk to meet some of the locals and a great bird watching lesson from Harri.. I intend to start a new hobby now! There was plenty to do but nothing was forced on us. We were really tired after a strenuous tour and mainly wanted to enjoy the peace reading outside in sunshine, and have wonderful food....with choice between continental or local,,,, then tuck up in an enormous bed with hot water bottles at the end of each perfect day. We had three such days and were very sad to leave. Thank you Marcus and please thank your amazing staff."Amata Lanna: "Hidden Gem! Best place to stay in Chiang Mai"
Amata Lanna was absolutely beautiful, the woodwork design adds a lot of character to the boutique hotel. Their interior design and furniture makes the place feels authentic. My stay was super comfortable, jacuzzi after the pool was such a treat, spa right in your room! The staffs are very friendly and informative. Couldn't have asked for a better stay in Chiang Mai. Make sure to check out the night market there. Will definitely come back again in the future.maisons war kor: "“Fabulous stay”"
"Although a little further away from Battambang (around 2km) than other hotels, the beautiful surroundings, well-appointed rooms and excellent food are well worth it. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. We were there to celebrate a 60th birthday and they arranged dessert with candles and sang happy birthday! We had a great tour of all the sights around Battambang with Mr Dan the tuk tuk driver, arranged by the hotel. Also, we had a cookery class in the restaurant just for two of us which was a great experience. Thank you for a brilliant stay."Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
