Muang La Lodge: "Da non perdere"
If you go in northern Laos you should definitely stop at the lodge. Rooms comfortable and spotless hospitality and impeccable service. Lovely pool ... turkish bath massage and two beautiful pools of thermal water from which to admire the view while sipping a delicious cocktail. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Delicious also picnic during a hike.Manda De Laos: "Amazing restaurant and food, and surprisingly reasonable prices"
We did not have reservations but were welcomed with a smile. Excellent service, fresh and delicious menu items: a real find.
Un must. Je vous le recommande vivement . Vous vivrez une étape au paradis Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"Inle Heritage Stilt Houses: "A highlight of our trip"
"This is definitely a highlight of our trip! Upon arrival, reception greets you by name and it just gets better from there. There are only six cottages on property which allows them to make each stay an amazing experience. Each cottage has a terrace. The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. You can (and we did) end up spending most of our time in ours. Beds are comfortable and rooms make you feel that you are staying somewhere special. The hotel is also a teaching school for aspiring hospitality students and they go over the top to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Part of the money you spend goes to supporting the students and local community. In Feb, it does get cold at night so in addition to bringing warm PJs, the staff leaves bed warmers during the turn down service. Nice touch. It can get a bit noisy - during the day, you hear motorboats going back and forth along the water highway and at night, there are chanting monks (at least during Feb for some festival). It didn't bother us but that seems to be the only thing people complained about on TA. There are ear plugs available if it does bother you. Internet is barely working and best time to try is early morning however this appears to be the norm for this area. All in all, a really enjoyable experience and absolutely recommended. Room Tip: Book the cooking class!"Satri House: "Stunning"
"We stayed at Satri house for 3 Nights a few weeks ago. It is the most outstanding hotel I think we have ever stayed in, everything about it is beautiful our room, the surroundings, the food, the staff(nothing was to much trouble) I wanted to live there!!. Our room was tucked away in a corner with its own little courtyard and was so peaceful. Satri house is full of its own special charm and a fabulous place to retreat to after a hot day sightseeing around Luang Prabang, I think I left a little piece of my heart there. "We enjoyed our stay here very much. You can do as much or as little as you like. Our spacious room in the new bungalow faced onto the mountain ranges in the distance, over nearby Sikkim, and we could also look up to Darjeeling way above. We enjoyed our ""Bed"" coffee each morning. We visited Darjeeling, had a guided walk around the tea gardens plus walking there on our own, and a guided walk to the suspension bridge into Sikkim, followed by a very good lunch by the river. The food was very good in general, breakfast and lunch are served outside. We enjoyed the dinners in the old bungalow dining room with its huge table.Though communal dining may not be for everyone. Lovely place to stay, once you have arrived after the grim road trip there! Recommend timing flight in so that the drive doesn't need to be done in the dark. But worth it for a minimum 3 nights perhaps, we stayed for 5. Very much enjoyed our stay, a good end to a busy trip."Mrauk U Princess Resort: "Принцесса Араканского царства"
"I know that sounds like a big wrap but this was a seriously good experience. The hotel is a refurbished mansion (or facsimile of), it's right on the river and has all the charm of old Saigon. The staff are delightful. We were welcomed with a fresh watermelon juice and a smile. We stayed for four nights and had a river view room on the top floor. There are no lifts so if you are not good with stairs make sure you request a lower floor. The room was well appointed to a luxury standard with wide wooden floor boards, a king sized bed and a spacious bathroom. The mini-bar is complementary and there is free wifi. I really appreciated both these features. The pool is about 25 metres and surrounded by comfortable loungers. There is a small gym (but I found it a bit hot for working out). Breakfast everyday is also included and there is a wide selection of European and Vietnamese options to choose from. The staff always greeted you warmly and were very helpful. Villa Song is in District 2 and some way out of the main tourism precinct (District 1) however they provide a free ferry service which takes about 20 minutes several times a day to and from the city centre. It is a terrific way to enjoy the city and means you get to sleep at night! District 1 is so busy all the time it is nice to get away from it and chill near the pool or in the bar. We tried the restaurant for dinner as well and it has a pleasant fusian menu to choose from. There is a spa downstairs which has the usual array of treatments. We had the aromatherapy massage which was very good and set us up nicely for the week. You can book any of the popular tours and they will charge it to your room making organisation a breeze. We were very happy with our choice of hotel. You really do feel at home away from home and that is mostly because of the charming service. We would definitely stay here again."VILLA SONG SAIGON: "Just Wonderful"
"We loved staying here. It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of a bustling city. They service was impeccable! They allowed us to check in early and check out VERY late which was so convenient for us. They have a wonderful scheduled boat that takes you to the center of Saigon in 15 minutes which was just so fun. The idea that you can have your free breakfast any time of the day is perfect! They scheduled a tour for us and we were picked up right on the hotel's dock. The pool was nice and quiet. The restaurant is right on the river and has very good food "Sanak Retreat Bali: "Mountains and Rice Fields"
"Hotel 4 in stunning location 500 metres above sea level. I love it up here. Perhaps not really for beach lovers, but the infinity pool is fabulous with views across rice fields extending down the valley. Individual traditional wood cabin accommodation with huge and very comfortable bed. Spotless modern bathroom, wonderful private veranda with mountain views. Superb restaurant with elevated terrace and views serving Balinese cuisine with a french twist. My rare steak was to die for. Easy access to stunning trekking to waterfalls through beautiful jungle booked in advance or through the hotel. This is a proper flavour of the beautiful island of Bali. FANTASTIC!
