David’s Kitchen: "Excellent food, reasonable prices"

Review by: programmer437 | Source: Trip Advisor
"I went on a date here with my (now) fiancee. I have to applaud David's kitchen for its flexibility in food and service - the clientele is a mix of thai nationals, Americans, Australians, Europeans, etc - yet the wait staff seem to be experts at responding to every inquiry. I had a food allergy (can't eat oats), and the wait staff was fast to swap out the bread for us. My fiancee was not a fan of her first soup order, and the staff exchanged it at no cost for another soup, which she liked much more. The actual food I would place at slightly above average. I ordered the strip steak. I can say I've had better steaks in America or Japan, but they were also more expensive. One dish doesn't make a restaurant, though - everything else was five stars: The truffle sauce was perfect. The appetizers were perfect. The chocolate lava cake was absolutely amazing. The cocktails were flawless. A mix of Thai friendliness and western elegance, this is a must for any traveler in Chiang Mai."

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A serene resort by the beach"

Review by: writeonthespot | Source: Trip Advisor
Neeleshwar Hermitage is one of my favorites in Kerala, India. It has great villas that have spacious rooms, clean and scented, with relaxing music. The bathroom and toilet has an open courtyard inside. There's a pool and the beach to choose from if you want to go swimming. Food is also great and the overall ambiance is so serene.

Satri House: "Very relaxing and charming"

Review by: Alan D | Source: Trip Advisor
My wife and is stayed Here for 9 days during July, and even the rainy season could not dampen our enjoyment. Satri house is so charming, relaxing, well run and very clean. The staff are very attentive and polite, the whole ambiance is very colonial, lush and elegant. Despite what others say it is only a very brief 5-10 minutes walk into the town. Simply wonderful..

Mathis Retreat: "An Oasis of Calm"

Review by: photogirlnz | Source: Trip Advisor
We stayed at Mathis Retreat for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. I found the centre of Ubud very hectic and a little overwhelming but coming back to Mathis every night was heaven. Located around a 5 minute drive from the centre of Ubud, Mathis Retreat overlooks beautiful rice paddy fields and has its own enclosure for the gorgeous ducks (a personal favourite) and it was so peaceful. We stayed in a garden bungalow and it was beautiful, the decor was gorgeous, it was spacious and private. Only minor flaws, we found the lighting very dim, while romantic, it was hard to find things in the bottom of our suitcases and there was a little noise from scooters going up & down the dirt road next to the resort, but this was only minor and as that road only services other accommodation it's usually quiet from 10pm onwards. The food at Terracotta Restaurant was delicious, we loved dining for breakfast and dinner overlooking the rice paddies. The staff were all lovely and very helpful, beautiful smiling faces every time we saw them. As this is a boutique resort it isn't hugely busy like large resorts and nabbing a spot by the pool was easy, no lounge chair reserving needed! Initially I was worried about the volcanic threat at Mt Agung as the alert level had been raised to the highest level, but I needn't be, Mathis is a long way away and life in Ubud carried on as per usual.

MesaStila: "One of the most beautiful hotels I have every stayed at anywhere – and I do get around"

Review by: Ursa387 | Source: Trip Advisor
"Truly magnificent. Not fake luxury - not spa'd out (they do not threaten to ""awaken your sense"" nor to arouse your Kundalini - they are content to offer warm, attentive service, huge and well appointed rooms, with 11 acres of grounds with a beautifully landscaped coffee plantation to wander around) but a true haven of peace up in the hills, away from the heat. The MesaStila Resord is something exceedingly rare in the age of corporate hotels - totally authentic. It has a distinctly colonial feel to it - manicured grounds, a large pool and excellent facilities - a 19th century teak train station which was saved from the wrecker's ball and moved to the hotel grounds. A club-house with pool table and bar. A large infinity pool with a kids area. Hammam and sports center. Tennis. What more could you ask for? The staff could not possibly be more attentive or well-intentioned. They care deeply for the wellbeing of their guests, and do everything possible to make it comfortable. The rooms are huge and tranquil. We shall be back - soon!"

Anopura Resort: "Heaven on Earth"

Review by: MariekesAoL | Source: Trip Advisor
I have travelled extensively all over India for more than two decades and never come across a more perfect haven - the most wonderful respite after hectic days at JLF and the hurly burly of Jaipur. It is so rare to feel so spoiled in such an unspoiled setting of invigorating sweet air and such pleasing aesthetics. Ishwar and his team are without parallel for their genuine hospitality, highest standards of solicitous service and sheer warmth. There is so much to admire about this sanctuary - the pleasing artistic details, the supreme comfort, the cosseted sense of privacy and privilege and the most outstanding food.I cannot commend this place enough as somewhere to come to be at the still centre of the world, to rest and revive. One night is not long enough and even before leaving, yearn to return. Congratulations to everyone involved in this exceptional boutique project.

Satri House: "Voyage en Indochine"

Un séjour qui nous a enthousiasmé Un grand merci à Lamphoune Voravongsa et à toute l'équipe. Stayed January 2017, traveled as a couple"

NOEL RODRIGO’S LEOPARD SAFARIS: "Fantastic experience"

Review by: SarahandPaolo | Source: tripadvisor.com
"We had a three-night stay at the camp and we couldn't recommend it more. We saw elephants, crocodiles, mongoose, wild boar, jungle cats and, most importantly, leopards! Saj is an absolutely brilliant guide, who has fantastic knowledge about all of Sri Lanka's animals and birds, and knew exactly where to go to find the leopards. We saw a huge male being charged by a water buffalo and a female relaxing in a tree. All the staff are great and the food is fantastic – my husband was in curry heaven! We loved staying in the tent too and showering outdoors. All in all, a wonderful experience. "

Neeleshwar Hermitage: "For the rest of your life"

Review by: johnnersgm | Source: Trip Advisor
"""For the rest of your life"" is quite a claim. We were both frazzled and so it was an easy claim to sign up for. Neeleshwar Hermitage totally delivered. The setting on the edge of the Arabian Sea is pretty special: for miles and miles of sandy beach and the rhythm of the waves wherever you are, enjoying yoga, breakfast at the beach restaurant or the infinity pool that looks out over the sea. The Ayurvedic Spa is where the relaxation really delivers with the spa team providing the best massages and treatments totally restoring mind, body, and spirit which were far from balanced on arrival. Having warm oil gently running on my forehead took me gently into a very deep sleep. The detox package we had opted for prescribed vegetarian food which Is not my usual menu, but the North Kerala recipes mixing spices and herbs were excellent. The whole experience was delivered by a delightful team throughout the resort. Sadly we had to leave after our allotted week and did so in a very different state than when we arrived. ""For the rest of your life"" indeed. "
