We moved to Saigon about three months ago and like to treat ourselves to a weekend in a hotel now and again. Staying in Villa Song felt like a real holiday and an escape from the city. We loved the peace and relaxation. The customer service and staff were excellent. The room was beautiful and we loved the pool area. Both mornings we were threre it was very quiet, despite the hotel being at full capacity. We ate at the restaurant the first night and enjoyed the food very much and the breakfast was great. The free boat back to the city was fun and a fantastic way to see the city from a different viewpoint, although I was loathed to get off the boat and head home! "The lodge was very comfortable and had the most fantastic views of the valley beneath the lodge and the majestic Annapurna range of the Himalayas. The most incredible views of these mountains was at sunrise across the swimming pool. The lodge sits high on the mountain side and it is a perfect place to relax with nothing to disturb the peace except the sounds of nature; an ideal place for complete relaxation. The standard of the food is very high and interesting menu, each meal was a delicious repast. The main centre of the lodge is very comfortable and outdoor dining at breakfast and lunch was very enjoyable, dinner was served in the main dining room at night when it was a little cooler. ( May ). The staff is very professional, discrete, very helpful and added greatly to the quality and enjoyment of our stay. We dined at DK at the recommendation of our Audley Travel agent. He called it, "the best restaurant in Thailand" and we couldn't agree more. Not only is the food plentiful and delicious with beautiful presentation, but the ambiance is elegant and the personalized attention - inclusive of 2 visits from David and his wife - surpasses expectations (even for fine dining). The menu is diverse, primarily french, and the selection of wine by the bottle or glass is extensive and pairs well with the menu options. We regularly dine out in Washington, DC and DK is on par with the finest restaurants in DC.Reverie Siam: "Excellent"
We came here for 3 nights and stayed in the family suite. Beautiful room very clean and well vintage designed. Breakfast is the best a la carte. The title says it all: if you travel in, or through, Central Java, you must stay in MesaStila. The resort is beautifully set in a historic coffee plantation in Java's highlands. Expect complete tranquility and Javanese hospitality. The villas are set along gentle slopes within the plantation and nature is never more than a few meters away. The villas have been carefully (re) built in local style and are quite spacious. The various common areas are spread across the property and make for a spacious, tranquil ambiance. Service is highly attentive and yet not intrusive. Last but not least, don't miss out on the spa!Reverie Siam: "A slice of paradise"
"In 2014 we visited Reverie Siam just after they opened for one glass of wine ... and promised ourselves we'd come back to stay one day. So this holiday, we stayed there for just one night as a special treat on our holiday and it was even more wonderful than we thought it would be! The room (we were upgraded from a standard room to a villa at no extra cost) was stunning. The bathtub is literally bigger than our entire bathroom at home! The service was exceptional ... especially considering our grubby backpacker aesthetic. This hotel is a beautifully designed tranquil retreat situated within the old city walls of Chaing Mai. When I say beautifully designed, I mean exceptional to the extent that you can sit outside in the court yard and feel inspired by the tranquil beauty of the traditional dark wood roof, the columns and the traditional furniture designs. The only aspects which very mildly let the hotel down is the ceiling of the bathroom is white cork tiles similar to an office toilet from the 1990s. Also the shower head is about 10 years out of date, still works, it just hasn't got the the spread of any modern shower head. These are minuscule issues to point out but it's due to the rest of the hotel being so beautiful. If they did iron out these small aspects & revamp the rooms a little, then this hotel would be in line with others that cost 4 times the price. Tranquil, Beautiful & Relaxing. Escapism. "We fell in love with this intimate hotel with magnificent views of a rice field ... The rooms are spacious and very clean and are limited in number which gives its charme.a hotel. Breakfasts are hearty and fresh. We had dinner every night at the hotel restaurant and the Terracotta entire card is excellent. We recommend the tuna tataki input a killer! The Mathis offers a free shuttle to downtown. Very friendly staff and very caring. In the evening we are surrounded by the sound of crickets and frogs ... the morning woken by birds .. the dream :-) "
