The Apsara Rive Droite: "Great Location! Great Hotel"
"We had a main floor room. It was large and so was the bathroom. Both the bed and the bathtub were high so there may be a problem for persons with mobility problems. Air conditioned plus a fan. Well kept and clean. The hotel was one short block from the main street where the monks come every morning. It was a ten minute walk to the night market and easy walking distance to many wats nearby. Also close to boats for river trips, especially sunset cruises. Breakfast for westerners consisted of juice, fruit, bacon and eggs, local french inspired bread and coffee. highly recommended. We got a great deal at US70.00 per night. Was worth more than that. Room Tip: All rooms face the river and a busy street which is not noisy after 10:00 at night."David’s Kitchen: "Two thumbs up"
This place reminds me of Antonio's in my own hometown. A great restaurant tucked in the outskirts of the city. Great food. Great Ambiance. Great Service. Incredibly affordable at that. Now to think of it, this place is what "Antonio's" in every city should aspire to be. I had the set menu of salmon gravlax, pumpkin soup, braised beef cheeks, and sticky toffee pudding- all excellent. The additional black truffles felt short of expectations though- void of any scent or aroma.Sukoon Houseboat: "Perfect place for honeymoon"
"#Excellent service #recommended for couples #premium range #classic interior with renovated hifi rooms and bio toilets #rooftop restaurant #traditional ala carte food menus included in the package #owned unlimited ferry shuttle service"Chakrabongse Villas: "Chakrabongse Villa – Royalty @ the Chao Phraya River"
"I was there for the 4th. tme in several years and it get's even better ! Chakrabongse Villa lies in my favourite part of the old city. Situated on the Rattanakosin Island @ walking distance from the pulsing food and flower market of BKK - Phak Klong Talad. Chakrabongse Villa is a very distinguished and stylised Boutique hotel and restaurant almost opposite the famous Wat Arun. The setting is gorgeous, the food is Thai and of course a little bit farang-style, but over all. To have dinner here with your friends or family is a real experience. The staff is very friendly, The wine-list could be bigger and at the end you just have to try it to to ad another experience to your life."Tugu Bali: "Exquisite beauty and great service"
"We were given a welcome drink and then escorted through beautiful grounds to room 209, an upper- floor Renjang Suite which was huge and featured a four-post canopy bed with carved wood, a beautiful hammered metal tub (a common Tugu Hotels feature) on an enclosed porch with views to the Indian Ocean and much more. The room was done throughout in beautiful wood and felt very cosy. The ceiling must have reached 20 feet at the top of the vault. Two Aircon units in the room kept the Bali heat in check. The bedding was very comfortable and in the serene setting with the sound of the waves out the windows we slept very well. The lighting was too dim for reading in bed, so bring your clip- to- the- book light if that matters to you! There were separate rooms for the shower and for the toilet. There was a lot of closet space and plenty of room for our luggage. Breakfast was a la carte and had a nice selection. The black rice was excellent, more or less a pudding, with coconut milk, delicious. Their omelets were tasty, too. There was delicately smoked salmon on their equivalent of soda bread, a very successful combination. The front desk, the bar, the restaurant tables and a large stage all share a big space under a vaulted roof. There was a cultural evening on our Thursday evening, no charge, and it was great. The statue of some winged beast at the back of the stage is impressive. The hotel is a showplace of various Indonesian works of art and is worth visiting just for that reason. The hotel puts chairs on the beach for guests and there’s also a lawn with beach chairs. You can order dinner and drinks on the lawn. The beach walks were great. There are lots of surfers to watch, and there are bars all along the beach in case the hot sun makes you thirsty… There were plenty of bars and restaurants all up and down the streets, too, but from what I saw between the hotel and the airport, there are restaurants and boutiques nearly everywhere in Bali, some in the least likely places. Be sure to agree taxi prices before you go anywhere as they will rip you off if you let them. Our first and only experience with this ended well because the Tugu’s porter came up to the taxi when he saw me disagreeing with the driver, and when he heard the driver’s demand he told the taxi guy to take what I offered and buzz off. After that, we were careful to agree beforehand. The location seems to be good, although this was my first trip to Bali and I do not have anything to compare it to. It takes about an hour to manage the 22km from the airport. At the end of our stay, the staff prepared a nice basket of fruit and chilled water to snack on in the car to the airport, and they all came out to wave goodbye, a very nice touch. We will certainly stay at the Tugu on our next Bali visit. "Satri House: "Perfect Respite"
I was visiting Bangkok and wanted a peaceful break. Three days in LPB at Satri House was perfect. The staff -- at reception, restaurant, pool, were all helpful and sweet. Great location for quiet but still so close to the Night Market. Bicycling into town (bike courtesy of Satri) to explore the temples and shopping was fun. Every detail of decor and hospitality are addressed flawlessly. I will go back again, and send friends too. Completely lovely.Cuisine Wat Damnak: "Khmai food and hospitality at its best"
A really good restaurant. The food was top notch - Khmai food with an added twist. The service was first rate and the setting very conducive to a wonderful evening - highly recommended and not too costlySamanea Beach Resort: "Great place"
The pier is the star attraction, best place in Kep to experience sunset and because of the small amount of rooms available the resort is never crowded, there are always available beds around the pool. All in all affording a feeling of exclusivity rarely experienced at larger resorts.Sanak Retreat Bali: "perfect for relaxing"
This retreat was so dreamy. The room is stunning, with the option to open up the whole room with sliding glass doors. Food was very good. We did the trek to a waterfall with Gusti ( our guide). He was so lovely, very smiley and friendly. He explained the local work and introduced us to the local people. We were delighted to have such a great tour guide. We also did a spa treatment, I have to say it was the best massage in Bali. This Retreat is surrounded by nature. It is so charming, I would recommend for light sleepers to bring ear plugs. The sound of frogs, birds and the river was very peaceful.Jing’s Residence: "Good place that you just cannot miss.."
Do spend time to sit outside of the room, hotel will help to set tea table with sweet stuffs. This is quite different experience that you couldn't get from other 5 star hotels. The only weakness is not many selection from breakfast menu.Travel Asia with Secret Retreats
