Maison Polanka: "Haven in a garden"

Review by: FoodieTraveller74 | Source: Trip Advisor
"We had a blissful stay for three nights. Staff was very friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. We stayed in the Yellow room which we thought was the best room in the main house as it was private, located right next to the shared coffee/tea making facilty and had a big, light bathroom. We arranged for two temple tours through the hotel and the guide allocated was informative and a terrific photographer. Choose this place if you want a quiet place off the touristy area but close enough to hop on a tuk tuk to Pub St in approximately 10mins!"

Les Maisons Wat Ko: "A little Gem"

Review by: Diana-worldtraveler | Source: Trip Advisor
Mairon What Kor is a very cozy, nice hotel with a beautiful garden, a pond and well-kept rooms. It's is located on a nice and quit spot, outside the city. We had the honor to sleep in the "Angelina Room", The Frangipane 1. (My husband didn't want to leave the room anymore, haha!) The hotel and its restaurant is so nice located that we decided to have diner at the hotel during our stay. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is wonderfull. With special thanks to "Mr. Peach". He is a very nice and friendly man. He makes our stay also very special and and we wish him all the best with his study.

Maduzi Hotel: "I arrived to find they had upgraded me to a nicer room"

Review by: lovestoeat112 | Source: Trip Advisor
I have to say the location is wonderful and the staff have been great. The room is simply amazing and set up in a way that makes i feel bigger than it is and it is also ideal for someone who needs to stay at a place while doing work or business.

Villa Song Saigon: "away from downtown, along the river"

Review by: Brian F | Source: Trip Advisor
if you don't want to stay near downtown HCMC Villa Song might be your best choice located along the river, they offer free speed boat ride to the city, which is pretty cool! and if you like beers, they will refill your mini bar with 2 beers overnight for free too!

Tugu Malang: "Such a wonderful place"

Review by: Hotfarm | Source: Trip Advisor
"During a round trip in Java we passed Malang and had arranged to stay at Hotel Tugu based on a recommendation from our Indonesian travel agent - and we were not disappointed!! Upon arrival we were greeted by the smiling and very friendly staff in the reception. We immediately felt welcome and 'at home'. At the same time we received a voucher for 15 minutes of (free) massage and an invitation for afternoon tea. The rooms are not large but large enough, with a nice bed and beautiful decorations ... especially the bathroom with the hand-hammered stainless steel bathtub impressed me. Even before we started unpacking we were seated in the museum-like lobby and had both Java tea and Java coffee served alongside the wonderful selection of small cakes ... in light of the easy access to coconut, the only thing I missed was the Danish 'kokos-toppe' (coconut tops) :-) Later we had dinner in the restaurant and after recommendation from the staff we had some excellent meals. In the morning we experienced the same eagerness to help and we ended up trying a number of both local and Indonesian breakfast dishes. A final observation ... all hotel managers - listen and learn ... when we checked out we got a small farewell present; - a package of the coffee used for the Java coffee, - we got a big smile and - a 'think of us when you have your next coffee'. This is so good thinking compared to other hotels which e.g. gives a Danish family 20% discount on airport transfer and a free membership of the Family Club if we come back to Indonesia with the family before Christmas. If I'm ever back in Malang I would not dream of staying anywhere else. Thank you"

Cuisine Wat Damnak: "An anniversary dinner to remember"

Review by: TracyandNeil | Source: Trip Advisor
What a wonderful restaurant. We visited for our 10th anniversary. The food is quite incredible. We have travelled all over the world and to be honest, this may be the best meal I have ever had. I am vegetarian and rarely get the opportunity to have a tasting menu. With prior warning, Chef made an unbelievable 6 course tasting menu for me. My husband also had the non vegetarian tasting menu. Chef came out to say hello and we really appreciated this as we know the restaurant had only recently reopened. Thank you so much Cusine Wat Damnak for a truly unforgettable experience.

Dewakan: "Impressive modern Malaysian cuisine"

Review by: Boonchuan | Source: Trip Advisor
I had a dinner here on the christmas night. Impressive 10 course meal with additional snacks and dessert. It's a marathon dinner of almost 3 hours with variety of food items to try. Each dish is unique and burst of flavours. The chef uses local herbs and spices creatively in each meal. You will think that such a simple ingredient wouldn't be done it this way. Each meal is also an art by itself especially blue mackerel with raja ulam which the cured fish meat topped with edible flowers. Overall almost all the dishes were excellent except two which I don't quite like it. However, the food concept may not be for everyone. People who don't like the smell of ulam and spices may not like the overwhelming flavour of the dishes here. Also you also need to be patient and enjoying good time here of enduring 3 hours of eating session. The food here are even better than some of the Michelin star establishment. Dewakan does not serve ala-carte meal. They only have 3 or 4 course meal during lunch or 5 or 10 course during dinner. Price starts at MYR80.00 for 3 course lunch and the dinner of 10 course at MYR209.00. I would say for fine dining, the price is actually quite reasonable with total of 10 course.

Locavore: "Spectacular"

Review by: ian p | Source: Trip Advisor
This restaurant has lots of great reviews so we went with high expectations. We had the 5 course meal however there were about 4 little courses before that even started. The presentation on different rocks is spectacular and the food matches it. Not cheap but the whole experience is worth it
