Satri House: "Absolutely wonderful"
"This is a truly amazing gem of a boutique hotel. The manager introduced himself on our arrival and the staff were exceptionally helpful. There are 2 pools, a spa and lovely grounds to relax in. Breakfast is either continental with a range of cooked eggs or local. The basket of pastries was fresh and they melted in your mouth. The tomato jam is excellent as is the tamarind. If you ask the recipes are available. The room was beautiful with local antique furniture and if you ask they will provide a kettle and tea making facilities. You can also request a tv but with the balcony and gardens who needs a tv! Look forward to returning some day. Congratulations on your property and staff."MAISONS WAT KOR: "Calming and traquil setting"
"Beautiful gardens wrapped around central pond/lake overflowing with blossoming lotus flowers ... truly beautiful. Salt water pool, good kitchen and friendly staff. Beautiful rooms but shower recess could be better. Photos evidence a visit by Brad and Angelina Jolie staying here ... this speaks for itself. Quiet retreat at the end of sometimes frantic days. "Tugu Lombok: "Paradise!"
We stayed here for 6 nights in December and had the best time of our lives. This place is amazing! The hotel and it's grounds are so beautiful. We stayed in one of the Amempang rooms and it was so luxurious and absolutely huge. I've never been anywhere like this before- it's absolute paradise. The staff are exceptional and all so happy, friendly, welcoming and eager to go the extra mile for you. My boyfriend proposed to me while we were here, and because he'd let them know what he was planning they set us up a private dinner in one of the beds on the beach and had it all decorated for us. When we went back to our room they had decorated that for us too! They had made animal arrangements out of the towels, lit candles in the bathroom and filled up the bath with water and flowers. They made our whole stay so special I can't thank them enough. We are coming back for our honeymoon!Inle Princess Resort: "Quiet piece of heaven"
"Everything starts when you enter the hotel area. By boat, of course, but with the engine turned off - not to disturb other guests, and also to let you enjoy the serenity of the place. A boatman joins your boat at the gate and helps bringing your boat (using traditional rowing by leg) to the jetty. Everything is peaceful at the hotel; it is really a place to rest and relax. It is environmentally friendly and provides a lot of info on the surrounding nature, particularly the birds. The water in the pool is very cold; when you experience the evening and even more the morning temperature here, it becomes clear, why. The staff is utmost helpful, the free minibar is a nice touch, all the toiletries are high quality and locally made. The clientele is upscale and old - if you are 40, you will probably be the youngest guest; if you don't wear a shirt for dinner, you might be the only one. The breakfast is as good as the view from the restaurant which was a refreshing change from the rather dull and disappointing dinner the night before. They even make traditional dishes if you ask in advance - I tried the Shan noodles and was happy. Perfect, at a price. But this is the kind of tourism Inle Lake should do to stay as unspoiled as possible. Stayed February 2017, traveled as a couple"Villa Song Saigon: "Perfect"
"Villa Song is located in District 3 outSide the city centre. Some say that is a negative, I dont. The city is chaos which is fine for the excitement....but to wind down and enjoy a relaxed peaceful evening this is the place. It's a beautiful boutique hotel with a fantastic saltwater pool to cool down and a riverfront restaurant and bar to enjoy the breeze and view. As for being outside the city, Villa Song provides a free boat shuttle that drops near the main promenade. You get incredible views and bypass the traffic. The times are limited so plan accordingly. The area has the british international school so mainy restaurants, bars, and grocery stores are close by."Glenburn Tea Estate: "Enchanting and Nostalgic Tea Estate with Majestic Views"
I had been trying to come to Glenburn for over 10 years and was afraid it would disappoint. It exceeded our expectations! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the entire estate has an old-world feel to it. It is situated in a majestic valley with views of Kanchenjunga. We took lovely walks each day. I especially appreciated the customer service and attention to detail. We had tea upon demand and amazing food. The prices might seem high, but considering that everything is included (food, excursions, transportation to/from the Bagdogra airport, etc.) the prices seem fair. I really loved the tea tour and thank Parveen (and Ranjan) for sharing their knowledge and making our stay so special. I also enjoyed meeting the other guests and having meals together -- it was a unique experience and we got to know many people on top of their game in different fields. We stayed four nights, which was ideal. I would love to return and highly recommend Glenburn Tea Estate for anyone looking for a picturesque getaway!Neeleshwar Hermitage: "A luxurious end to our two weeks travelling in south India"
We spent just two nights here to wind down after a very hectic two weeks. The staff are really lovely and the food great. One restaurant specialises in sea food but as we're vegetarians we ate only in the other one. I swam twice a day very early morning and at 6 30 pm when the pool and loungers were empty. We didn't want to use the pool or sunbathing area during the day - too hot and too busy. Breakfast taken in the open air facing the sea was great - we chose Indian food both times. The restaurant food both evenings was good but not spicy enough - even tho' we asked for fairly spicy. All the other guests were Westerners - apparently Indian families tend to stay later in the month after the school exam season is over. We borrowed the fairly rickety old bikes to cycle along the quiet village roads nearby and there's an extensive reading library to borrow books from. There's a resident tailor if you want to get any clothes made.To summarise - it's not real India and the wi-fi wasn't perfect but still worth five stars!Sanak Retreat Bali: "Unique, peaceful and beautiful"
"Sanak is an oasis of peace, off the beaten track, between rice fields, with cooler temperatures than the rest of Bali but actually perfect and hot just a bit less humid and not boiling hot. The view over rice fields is amazing, we stayed in a bungalow - very comfortable and stylish. Good food, organic, catering for people with any special diet. No plastic or coca-cola, I loved it, lots of fresh herbal teas, great for people who are environmentally conscious, like nature and want to stay away from the crowds. Amazing massage, the best we had in Bali, especially the milder version of the Balinese massage was great. I recommend also a walk to the waterfalls, although the local guide was fussing over me as if I was to fall down from each bigger stone :) It was worth a little walk and there were no one else there. It was still raining at the time we were there (end of raining season) but mornings were sunny and good for activities. It looks beautiful in any weather here. Sanak supports preserving the local area and gives work to people in the village, I just love what they stand for. This is the best combination I have seen of eco-tourism and luxury. We will come back."Villa Mathis: "Incredible stay"
Everything was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend the Borneo suite and the "romantic package." The massages are incredible as well! The manager, Chris, and all of the staff are extremely friendly and bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and more than comfortable. Even when we weren't staying the night, we came back to Villa Mathis just to swim, relax, have massages and eat. The perfect Balinese experience.Cheong Fatt Tze – Blue Mansion: "Amazing Hotel"
Cheong Fatt Tze - Blue Mansion is an amazing place to stay. The mansion is beautiful, and very well restored. It is fantastic to stay in such an historic building; you feel back in time. The breakfast is ok, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved it.
