Amankora Thimphu – Dzong Architecture in the Hills of Bhutan’s Capital

Set in a blue-pine forest in the upper reaches of Thimphu Valley, Amankora Thimphu offers a peaceful retreat while remaining close to the Bhutanese capital. The lodge's whitewashed stone buildings are inspired by traditional dzong architecture, with warm timber interiors and views of the surrounding forest and mountains. The lodge features 16 spacious suites, each measuring approximately 52 square metres. Designed with wood panelling, king-size beds, traditional bukhari stoves and terrazzo-clad bathtubs, the suites offer a comfortable and understated setting with large windows overlooking the natural surroundings.

Guests can enjoy Bhutanese and international cuisine in the dining room or on the outdoor terrace overlooking the forest and nearby stream.
