Terra blends the best of Mediterranean and Northern Thailand cuisine, sourcing all products locally. This enchanting restaurant is located just across from the Four Seasons, in the scenic Maerim district, 15 km north of downtown Chiang Mai. Within the restaurant’s botanic grounds, The Farmers’ Bar offers a unique experience where guests can choose to enjoy tapas and drinks served from an antique 129 years-old bar. Alternatively, diners can lounge in a cosy greenhouse setting, or relax in the herb gardens.

My cooking at Terra is particularly focuses upon seasonal ingredients, promoting local organic produce and supporting the local community (Farmers’ Co-Op).”

Set amongst a tropical greenhouse, the bar is surrounded by floral and manicured lawns, featuring recycled teakwood and terra-cotta floor finishes. The Farmer’s Bar interior is fitted with beautiful antiques including a wooden carved bar from 1890 as the counter, and many of the culinary herbs from the restaurant gardens are creatively used in the house cocktails.

Terra serves rustic Mediterranean and Northern Thai cuisines, based on fresh ingredients, either organic or pesticide safe, locally grown and mostly sourced from small growers. Terra also welcomes visiting chefs from around the world, as well as the local masters who create their repertoires under the set of House Rules.

From Chiang Mai city, take highway towards Maerim-Samoeng road. After the junction of Maerim town, turning left towards Maesa waterfall and Samoeng district, continue the drive for about 2 km. At the small road turning left towards The Four Seasons Resort, drive in for about 1.5 km. Once reaching the main entrance of the Four Seasons, continue to drive in; we are situated right opposite the resort’s main gate.
