We can of course adjust according to your request.
Highlights of the Journey:
- An exploration of Angkor Wat UNESCO site
- The town of Battambang
The region of Siem Reap offers its visitors truly a wonder of the world in the archeological site of Angkor, one of the largest religious monument complex in the World, spread over 160 hectares - with the perfection of Angkor Wat, the mystery of Bayon and the abundance of vegetation in Ta Prohm .
Battambang is a charming colonial town built along the banks of the Sangker River. Both destinations are separated by the Tonle Sap.
The Tonlé Sap Lake - a lake that has always been of central importance for food supply in Cambodia and one of the world's most varied ecosystems. This is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, a key actor in the economy of the country, and it contains an exceptional large biodiversity. Since 1997, it is protected by UNESCO as biosphere reserve. Its size varies from 16,000 km2 at the peak of the Monsoon, when the Mekong fills it up (late September), down to 2,500 km2 at the end of the dry season (April).

Your Journey Day by Day
based on 2 person sharing the same room
For dinner, on your own, maybe at the hotel for the first night
Return to hotel for Breakfast . The rest of the morning at leisure and we let you arrange your lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the temple of Banteay Srei, the nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its remarkable state of preservation, small size and excellence of decoration. Then visit Preah Khan, built by the King Jayavarman VII and, like Ta Prohm, a place of towered enclosures and shoulder hugging corridors. Unlike Ta Prohm, however, the temple of Prea Khan is in a reasonable state of preservation and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation. Return to hotel in late afternoon to refresh.
Around 19h30, a table is booked for you at Mie Café restaurant, a member of Secret Tables, where the very creative and dynamic Chef Pola will serve you a unique and exciting menu of Khmer and Western flavours.
Option 1: After breakfast, we will go by tuk tuk to visit the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12th century), the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Royal Enclosure, the Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King and Baphuon Temple
In the afternoon, we continue with a visit of Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful temples in the area, as it has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery.
Option 2 (with a supplement): if you have enough with temples, we propose to visit the country side on a Vespa.
Departure at 08h00, with your Vespa driver, briefing with a cup of coffee or tea at the same time. We then start to ride along the rural countryside from one village to another. In one you can taste sugar palm juice, in another you can observe the monks blessing villagers inside a pagoda… amazing landscapes and scenes guaranteed. Visit of the Occidental Mebon (during the dry season by vespa and during the rainy season by boat). The West Mebon is a temple of Angkor, located in the center of the West Baray reservoir .
For lunch, enjoy a picnic in a farm. After lunch time, continue the ballad and observe the daily activities of the villagers: baskets weaving, work in the rice field, sticky rice cooked in a bamboo. Return to the hotel around 2.00 pm. After we return to your hotel the rest of the day is yours. We can make other recommendation for your dinner.
Picnic lunch will be served on the boat.
After lunch, we continue by the road to Battambang, a Tuk Tuk will drive you to the hotel Maisons Wat Kor for check-in (3 nights).
If you arrive on a Monday, Thursday or Saturday, at 6.30pm, we will offer you to assist to a Circus Show, organized by Phare Association. The performers use theater, music, dance and modern circus arts to tell uniquely Cambodian historical, folk and modern stories. The artists are students and graduates from Phare Ponleu Selpak’s vocational training center, an association made from a refugee camp after the Khmer Rouge regime.
Enjoy the rest of the evening and dinner at leisure.
- Kramas seamstress, the traditional Khmer scarf.
- meet an old woman from Battambang who has always manufactured natural tobacco cigarette. She will share some moments of her life
- wood sculpture workshop
- artisanal and handmade methods of rice noodles preparation.
- traditional workshop for rice alcohol.
We will help you to find a nice local restaurant for lunch, then you can continue with: - making of rice cakes, specialty of Battambang
- making of sticky rice cooked in bamboo
- a city tour : market, old colonial city, the Governor’s house and the Provincial Museum (closed on Saturdays, Sundays and during the public holidays) that sheltered some very beautiful pieces found in the temples of the region.
We shall be back to the hotel around 5pm and you are free for the rest of the day
The team at the hotel can make some suggestion… you can also relax by the pool At 4.30pm: a tuk tuk will pick you up to visit the site of Phnom Sampauv located at 7 km from Battambang. This site is famous for its cave with thousands of bats. It is impressive at the nightfall, to see hundreds and hundreds of bats flying out the cave and draw a huge dragon in the sky.
No arrangement for dinner.
