Munnar is a former hill-station founded by the British during the period of colonial rule. At an elevation of 1,600 metres (5250 feet), it is pleasantly cool to visit after the heat of the lowlands. Tea grows well here and the lower slopes of the hills are carpeted by orderly plantations of emerald-green bushes, tended by colourfully-attired tea-pickers. Kerala's highest peak, Anamudi (2695m), which is also the highest Indian peak south of the Himalayas, rises up above the town. This journey offers you to explore the nature in the hills around Munnar.

Your Journey Day by Day

Day 1 : Kochi Airport – Munnar (-/-/-)

Arrive at Kochi Airport. After completing the formalities and collection of your baggage, proceed towards the arrival hall, your guide will welcome you and straight drive to Munnar (140km or about 5hrs drive) through a nice country road. Check-in for 3 nice at the Estate. Rest and breath. No other arrangement for the day. All meals on your own.

Day 2 : Munnar (B/-/-)

After breakfast, we proceed for the sightseeing of Munnar visiting a Tea Estate and tea making factory (closed on Monday), the Forest flower garden, a Jungle Honey Bee nest, an Elephant arrival Spot, an Eco point, the Kundale Lake & Mattupetty Dam. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Later in the afternoon, we will proceed on exploring the spice plantations around the area. No arrangement for meals.

Day 3 : Munnar (B/L/-)

After a solid breakfast, we drive from the hotel by jeep around 3 kms to the base of starting of the walk - we start from an elevation of 1420m. The initial part of the trek passes through the tea gardens with backdrop of rolling hills. After about 45 minutes on trek we gradually climb a hill for glorious views and continue our trek through the grasslands and patches of Shola forest, continue trek on ridge offering great views of the Anaimudi highest peak in South India and Idukki Dam. We have a hot lunch at a nice scenic spot. After lunch, we trek through Coffee and Cardamom plantation. Bird lovers will have a great time spotting endemic bird life of this region, the final walk for about an hour will again be through tea plantation, we finish the trek and drive back to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax. No arrangement for dinner.

Day 4 : Munnar – Kochi Airport (B/-/-)

After breakfast, transfer to Kochi Airport for departure to your next destination.
