Pondicherry (or Puducherry), a French colonial settlement in India until 1954, is now a Union Territory town bounded by the southeastern Tamil Nadu state. Its French legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic boutiques. A seaside promenade runs along the Bay of Bengal and passes several statues, including a 4m-high Gandhi Memorial.

Arrival at Chennai airport. After completing the formalities and collection of your baggage, proceed towards the arrival hall, your guide will welcome you and straight drive to Pondicherry (about 4hrs).

Day 2 : Pondicherry (B/-/-)
This morning, enjoy your breakfast, and you can go for a walk around at leisure.
Later after lunch, we will take you on a visit to Auroville, an experimental township in Viluppuram district near Pondicherry (10 Kms), whose stated purpose is to realize human unity in diversity. It is a popular tourist destination and has been described as a "New Age metropolis conceived as an alternative exercise in ecological and spiritual living.
Back to the old town and the rest of the day is yours.

Day 3 : Pondicherry (B/-/-)
This morning after breakfast, we head for exploring the city of Pondicherry which includes the visit to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, located on Rue de la Marine. The Ashram was founded by Sri Aurobindo Ghose in 1926 Sri Aurobindo, the poet philosopher founded the Ashram to help man reach the zenith of his evolution through spiritual exercises and yoga, combined with physical activity and productive work.
The rest of the day is at leisure or explore the city on your own.
