This journey has been personally designed by Sugeng Sugiantoro who is Javanese and has been the manager of Losari Coffee Plantation, now Mesastila, from the very first day. He knows Central Java Culture and traditions and their integration to the daily life of the resort, surrounded by small villages, forest and 8 volcanoes. He is sharing his home province with us here.
Highlights of the Journey:
- An exploration of Borobudur Temple
- Yogyakarta and a stay in a Coffee Plantation
Located in Magelang, both Borobudur Temple (the World largest Buddhist Temple built in the IX century) and Losari Coffee Plantation and its magic surrounding are worth a visit at least once in your life. A short drive north of Yogyakarta, Central Java, Borobudur is decorated with over 2,600 reliefs and 500 Buddha statues, the main one being seated in perforated stupas. Central Java played an important role during the Dutch Colonial period and is the heart of Javanese culture. Losari Coffee Plantation is a 22ha coffee plantation, planted by the Dutch, abandoned after the independence and restored twenty years ago by an Italian Lady (Ibu Gaby) passionate about Javanese traditions, cultures, architecture, art and artisans.
