The property combines traditional Chinese Tang-style architecture with elements of Japanese wabi-sabi, creating a calm and understated atmosphere closely connected to its surroundings. The retreat consists of just eight individual villas, each designed with its own private garden and hot spring bath. Some villas also feature private swimming pools and tea rooms, giving guests generous space and privacy throughout their stay.

Food is an important part of the experience. Afternoon tea includes the signature bubble tea of Chun Shui Tang, while dinner is prepared as a seasonal chef's tasting menu using ingredients from Nantou.
