Visitors to The Blackbuck Lodge can choose from 14 private luxury villas set within 70acres, with each of The Blackbuck Lodge rooms boasting an elegant mix of charming rustic elegance and contemporary design. The secluded villas built from wood and rough-hewn stone feature granite floors, polished wood furniture, and wide verandas with seating areas from which to enjoy the stunning views and sounds of nature within the property. As the name suggests the Blackbuck National Park is home to the largest population of Blackbuck antelope in India. The Blackbuck Lodge Private Villas

The Blackbuck Lodge guests are invited to relax in the lap of luxury in a choice of 14 comfortable villas. The villas, inspired by African jungle lodges visited by Mickey Desai on his African travels, are spacious villas that can easily accommodate up to two adults and a child. The exterior may be rustic, but the interiors offer contemporary comfort with elegant furniture, queen-sized beds, and an en-suite bathroom with an open-air shower and sunken bath complete with a range of luxury toiletries, soaps, shampoos, and conditioners, and high-quality linen bathrobes, bath linen, and slippers. The Blackbuck Safari villas each have their private sundecks or verandas opening out to unmatched views over the Blackbuck National Park, Velavadar. A specially designed window alcove is the perfect place for wildlife spotting by day and stargazing by night or can also be transformed into an extra bed if need be.

All villas come with air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a minibar, and round-the-clock room service. The two Plunge Pool Villas are similar in design but with large private pools that overlook the grassland. The Blackbuck Lodge, Velavadar, Gujarat offers guests the chance to enjoy their experiences with other travellers in the lounge, or just sit back and relax with a cup of coffee, a good book and an incredible view. A small library has also been created and filled with books about the local area and the abundant flora and fauna of the Blackbuck National Park, Velavadar. The Black Buck Lodge Restaurant offers a wide range of delicious dishes from local Indian, Kathiawadi, and Chinese delicacies to international and continental cuisine. There is plenty on offer for vegetarians and vegans with many of the seasonal ingredients coming fresh from the hotel’s kitchen garden, with gluten free, vegan and vegetarian diets fully catered for too. As well as enjoying the restaurant’s ambience and scenic views from inside, or outside under the stars, guests are offered the chance to dine in a private pavilion beneath the trees by the water’s edge or have lunch or dinner in the rustic setting of a nearby village. A special Bush Dinner can also be arranged with the Blackbuck lodge staff where tables are set up under the stars for guests to experience the sights and sounds of the Blackbuck National Park while enjoying some of the finest cuisine Gujarat has to offer.

No trip to the grasslands of this wonderful Velavadar National Park would be complete without a Blackbuck Safari. Guided tours are provided in the comfort of specially designed jeeps that offer both comfort and unhindered views of the wildlife. The guides are expert naturalists and very knowledgeable about the animals, birds, and plant life to be found in the park and always keen to share their knowledge and stories of wildlife with guests. Although full-day safari drives can be arranged, the best times to go are just before dawn and at the end of the day as the sun is setting.
