BOOK

The Fleming Hong Kong is more than just a place to sleep. It’s a destination. Nestled in the heart of one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods, The Fleming stands out among the best boutique hotels Hong Kong has to offer. From the moment you step through the vintage-inspired entrance, the nautical theme kicks in, and you’re transported into a space where classic Hong Kong heritage meets stylish modern living. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from Hong Kong’s iconic Star Ferry think brass fixtures, green tiles, porthole mirrors, and seasoned hardwood fixtures. It’s a look that’s both retro and refined, blending maritime charm with industrial chic. What truly sets The Fleming apart is how it channels the energy of the city outside its doors while giving you a peaceful haven to unwind and relax within. The 66 guest rooms here are cozy and well equipped for everything the modern traveller could require. Beds are big and comfy, fitted with plush top-end mattresses, other features of the rooms include Apple TVs, rain showers, and aromatic Shen Nong bath products that have been crafted exclusively for the hotel. And let’s not forget scent of The Fleming, something that will soon become a nostalgic scent that will instantly transport guests to their time in Hong Kong in years to come. The Fleming’s signature scent is a warm blend of sandalwood and amber that subtly lingers throughout the space, a wonderful aroma that evokes the spirit of old Hong Kong. When travelling, especially to a city, location is everything. And this boutique hotel in Wanchai is perfectly located. The Fleming sits just a stone’s throw from the MTR, buses, and the iconic tram lines, and puts you right at the center of the action. Wanchai is one of the earliest residential areas of Hong Kong, starting out as a fishing village, and has come a long way from its gritty past. It’s now one of the most fashionable, forward-thinking districts in Hong Kong. Whether you’re here for work or play, you’re surrounded by everything you need when staying at The Fleming Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre is a short walk away, and the Star Street Precinct is a great place for afternoon strolls where you can amble past local cafés, chic design shops, and cool art spaces. If you’re a foodie, Osteria Marzia, the in-house restaurant at The Fleming by Black Sheep Restaurants, is a must-visit. The restaurant serves up vibrant coastal Italian fare from crudos to handmade pasta and grilled seafood. Start your day with a breakfast quiche at the Fleming’s restaurant, or wrap up an evening with an Aperol-fueled dinner. And because this is Hong Kong, you’re also never far from local eats like egg tarts, a delicious echo from Hong Kong/Macau’s Portuguese heritage, pineapple buns, Dim Sum, and that perfectly creamy milk tea. In many ways, The Fleming is both a base and a home from home, the boutique hotel in Wanchai that visitors can count on for style, substance, convenience and boundless comfort.

Your Host and The Team

“We are aiming to be the hotel of choice for style-conscious travellers who want to feel plugged-in to who’s who and what’s what when they come to Hong Kong, while still being reasonably affordable.”

Design Hotels in Hong Kong: Style, Soul, and a Sense of Place

For visitors to fall in love with design hotels in Hong Kong they don’t just need to look good, they need also to tell a story. And The Fleming tells a compelling one. Inspired by the golden era of post-war Hong Kong and the city’s beloved green-and-white Star Ferries, this Hong Kong boutique hotel is all about heritage, character, and atmosphere. From the bold, red elevator that feels like a ship’s hull to the brushed brass keycard holders that spark nostalgia, every corner has been carefully curated. The design at The Fleming Hotel effortlessly blends heritage with a modern flair. You’ll find leather drapes, vintage mailboxes, striped rugs, and framed street photography of everyday Hong Kong life. The rooms are comfy, practical, and plush, the ambience in all classes of the rooms at The Fleming feel elevated thanks to the thoughtful layouts and warm, mood-setting lighting. The bathrooms are art deco-inspired, complete with custom rain showers and exclusive Shen Nong bath amenities that echo traditional Chinese apothecaries with a twist of modern aromatherapy. Whether you’re travelling to Hong Kong solo or with a partner or friends, you’ll appreciate how every little detail, from the thick linens to the wireless charging stations contributes to a seamless, comfortable stay. And when it comes to selecting a Hong Kong boutique hotel, there may be plenty to choose from, but The Fleming really stands in a league of its own. Unlike cookie-cutter chains or ultra-minimalist hotels that can feel cold and soul-less, The Fleming has personality and character, and lots of it. It’s the quintessential boutique hotel, a property that has a strong sense of place, a hotel that feels alive. In fact, you might find yourself taking pictures to share with your friends online of the lobby’s vintage mailbox wall, the rich teak bar tiles, or the nautical signage that gives every hallway a ship-like vibe. It’s a favourite Wanchai boutique hotel not just with tourists, but also with business travelers who are looking for both function and flair. The Wi-Fi is fast and free, there are work desks in every room, and you’re only minutes away from the city’s financial district. Whether you’re wrapping up emails or heading to the exhibition center, you’re well-positioned here. And when it’s time to unwind, head to the bar, and order a cocktail, we recommend the Capri with rum, limoncello, yuzu, the perfect beverage to toast your decision to stay in one of the most stylish design hotels in Hong Kong.

“A boutique hotel with a character all its own, one steeped in Hong Kong’s heritage yet remains modern, vibrant and stylish, just like the ever-changing, living and breathing exciting city that is Hong Kong. The unique design of The Fleming pays homage to one of Hong Kong’s most iconic sights, the wonderful Star Ferry. Be assured of warm hospitality, all the comfort and more that a modern traveller could desire, stylish design, and all in a great location in the heart of Wanchai.”
Kim, the discoverer.
