Probably the best place I have ever stayed

“My family and I spent two nights in this hotel as part of our trip around Laos in early January. I was immediately impressed by the homeliness of the hotel and the warm welcome we received from the lovely Dutch manager. The pool is absolutely stunning and the hot pools are so nice to spend time in. My only qualm is that the water in the hot spring is normally far too hot so it might be slightly better to mix the water with some cooler water.

The staff are all very attentive, however the a la carte nature of the meals means that it can often take a little while for your coffee to arrive. The quality of the food is Michelin star. The dinners are amazing and I love how they involve so much local food. I would say that there is possibly a little too few carbohydrates for my teenage brother and I and some bread on the table would not have gone to waste. The rooms are really very nice, the shower was really warm unlike some of the other places we had stayed in Laos.

The things I like most about this hotel are the ways in which they think about everything you could need. For example they offer to clean your shoes for you after a day of walking around the mountain villages or how they place towels by the hot tubs so you don’t have to remember your own or how they create a little fire pit next to your table at dinner to keep you warm. My favourite must have been when we came home from dinner the first night to find a hot water bottle in the bed. Absolutely amazing!

The activity that we went on was really interesting. Our guide was very well informed and answered all our questions. They were also very willing to adapt to our requests such as visiting the local health centre.”
