Lotus Houseboat offers an adventurous experience while maintaining a low carbon footprint due to the unique nature of its accommodations. Many activities featured onboard focus on the surrounding nature and embrace the commitment to minimise environmental impact.

Lotus Houseboat places an emphasis on sustainable fishing, inviting guests to fish while cul-tivating environmentally friendly fishing practices. Guests have the opportunity to cook the fish that they catch and can also take cooking classes to enhance their understanding of local culinary practices. Lotus Houseboat encourages guests to discover the smaller canals motor-free, arranging low-impact canoe tours among the backwaters. The sustainability efforts ex-tend shoreside as well and once the boat is anchored, guests can use provided bicycles to freely explore the island.

Lotus Houseboat offers various packages ranging for 2 to 4 nights, ideally combined with a stay at Neeleshwar Hermitage. The cruise starts from a jetty (10mn drive south from Neeleshwar), on the Tejaswini River that connects to the backwaters. After crossing the tea and coffee plantations of the Coorg Hills, the boat reaches the Snake Temple, dedicated to Goddess Badrakali. The cruise continues to Valiyaparamba village, Monkey Island and on the second day, it takes you to the Shiva Temple at Payyannur and onwards to the Sultan Canal. If you stay another night, it will also include the Shri Mutthappan Temple and the famous evening ceremony.
