Kinabalu Park, Malaysia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Sabah, is a key highlight of this 7-day Sabah wildlife tour. Home to over 5,000 vascular plant species and nearly 90 lowland mammal species, the park offers an unforgettable encounter with Borneo’s unique ecology. Towering at 4,095 meters, Mount Kinabalu is one of Southeast Asia’s highest peaks. From forest trails to river safaris, this Borneo wildlife adventure takes you deep into pristine landscapes—on foot and by boat. Along the way, encounter rare endemic species, vibrant birdlife, and primates in their natural jungle habitat.

Your Journey Day by Day

Arrive at the lodge around 2:30 PM. After check-in and lunch, enjoy a briefing about the lodge and your upcoming Kinabatangan River cruise experience.
At 4:30 PM, enjoy local banana fritters and coffee before setting off on a smaller boat to explore the Kinabatangan River, one of the richest wildlife corridors in Borneo. Spot proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and crocodiles as the sun sets. At nightfall, observe fireflies lighting up the riverside before returning for dinner. Later, join a guided night walk along the boardwalk to look for nocturnal wildlife.
Birds of the Kinabatangan River: Storm Stork, hornbills, pittas, trogons, kingfishers, Malaysian blue flycatcher, red-bearded and blue-throated bee-eaters, lesser adjutant, Wallace’s hawk eagle, and more.
Birds at the Danum Valley: Bornean bristlehead, hornbills, trogons, kingfishers, blue-headed and banded pittas, great argus, crested fireback pheasant, roul roul, wren-babblers, and more.
Exploring Danum Valley offers a rare opportunity to experience one of Borneo’s most ancient and untouched rainforests up close.
Return to Kota Kinabalu in the afternoon and take a 30-minute speedboat ride to Manukan Island. Upon arrival and check-in at the resort, enjoy a peaceful evening by the sea.
This island escape provides the perfect contrast to your Sabah jungle safari, offering space to rest and recharge after days of adventure.
